(D3 MA) Are they Thul of It?

Cynella blinked then spun around. This wasn't the infamous House of Assassins and yet here she was, totally caught flat-footed! "Her Majesty and the Duchess were busy reviewing some information," she said, totally true! "And we hoped to not be in their way." She smiled sheepishly and looked to Prince Joran. Hopefully he was a better liar than she was.

"Well you must be up here looking for the... famous... doll room?" they asked.

"There's a doll room?" Cynella asked, eyeing Joran. They were probably the worst possible people to pretend to be totally innocent. At the very least, his mom was close and parents were good at bailing problems out if they got too bad! "Is that down the hall then?"

[Dapper Dog]

"Why of course, it comes standard with every haunted castle. Please follow me, and do mind where you step, we just had the carpets cleaned for blood stains," they said as they walked past to lead the way.

[Cynella Andrim]

"What?" Cynella looked over to Joran again for reassurance and then followed along. It was a pretty terrible fate if she somehow escaped and the royal prince didn't...

Joran shrugged and said, "That's interesting, thanks. Maybe we should..."

[Dapper Dog]

"Nonsense, right in here, the famous doll room," they gestured to the room's interior. Glass cases filled with dolls of all shapes and sizes, at least four to five dozen of them.

"Are they not exquisite?"

Cynella narrowed her eyes at the display. She'd favored dolls to a certain extent as a child but had soon grown tired of them. To see them so enshrined was a bizarre sight indeed. "It is definitely intriguing," she said. She dug her hands into her pockets and glanced around. "But I did skip breakfast... I'm hoping lunch is ready by now."

[Dapper Dog]

They turned on their heels and said, “That is fortunate, lunch is wonderful today. The chef prepared an assortment of shellfish, grilled vegetables, and their famous crème filled sour fruit pie. It is to die for. At least three visiting dignitaries have died while eating it. You don’t have a heart condition do you?”

“Oh you are young, surely your heart is fine. I was young once. It seems like a wistful dream. Then the years passed and soon I found myself the person you see before, beautiful, yet alone. With only the stars to see my tears.”

At the bottom of the stairs they waited and then continued, “Do you have any food allergies?”

Joran said, "No... I am fine, sir... ma'am."

"No allergies here," Cynella said. "It'd be a shame to not give it a try if it's so, well, good."

She rubbed the back of her head. What in the heck is going on here?

[Dapper Dog]

“Excellent.”

They continued walking and then paused at the doors and turned, “Now you two were not actually skulking about the upstairs trying to find the literal skeletons I buried in the walls were you? You were pretty hot at the time… but now so cold.”

“Oh well, perhaps next time.”

They opened the door and gestured for them to enter the dining area.

Cynella took a deep breath. "I don't think skeletons would be very good building material. At least, I think the bones would be too brittle to keep a building up." She laughed, definitely awkward. "I'm not much of a scientist or doctor though."

Cynella took a more businesswoman approach in her seat of choice, hoping to be equidistant from the Panteer and Thul side of things. She tapped a bit on her lap then willed herself to stop fidgeting. The food couldn't be that bad...

[Ziandra Thul]

Ziandra had the food brought out, it was a lovely spread of cooked shellfish, spiced meats and grilled vegetables. Plenty of desserts and other scrumptious delights. She offered, “Xero, you have outdone yourself, as usual.”


The masked person took a seat and said, “Thank you Duchess, I put my heart and soul into this. I hope the queen enjoys these delights. Oh, Prince Joran… and Lady Andrim, I am honored by your presence.”

“Please enjoy.”

The Queen began eating politely and said, "We are pleased, thank you."

Cynella picked at her food, taking any opportunity to pace herself. "Yes, it is quite lovely," she said, avoiding staring at Xero. With that mask, did they intend to eat? "I hope the specifications were up to par. I'd hate to tell my House that they've been found lacking."

Xero did not eat. Sometimes they moved a utensil, but sat in silence.
