This is Weird [Day 5, LM]

[Riss]

Riss follows along, taking a sip as they go but less attentive to the Zabrak as Zeno was. Too busy mulling over the wording she wanted to use, but finally settling on, "Do you feel like the ire the Thul get isn't earned?" she asks, a slight raise to her brow and a more neutral tone.

[Zeno Thul]

"I feel like many Thuls of the past were punished for a mistake few made. That the exile of a family should be reserved for the actions of a family at large, not because a few made a stupid decision. I also think that if people of Alderaan didn't hold such a big grudge over actions that current Thuls didn't commit, we might have been able to return without needing to rely on myself and the Empire to do so. I and my girls may not exist here if they had been less vitriolic, but there also would not be Imperial troops along with us either. When old allies turn against you new ones must be made. For me personally, it was complicated. But for the Thul and me now, I accept that it was an alliance of convenience. The sooner that people can realize that we are not the Boogeymen of the past and can bring something to Alderaan, the sooner we no longer need an exotic crutch."

[Riss]

"Just the boogeymen of the present getting into bed with the Empire," she remarks, voice trailing as she puts her hand onto her hip. Walking a couple steps ahead to get a nice look at the place.

[Zeno Thul]

"You don't shed your shell while others fling stones at you. You get rid of it when you don't need it anymore," he says with a shrug. "If you seek to destroy someone for the way in which they defend themselves, you don't give them much ability to change how they do so."

They approach another large barrel that is still on the shelf but has a spigot installed. He fills his small glass.

"A dry wine, also 3 years like the last."

[Riss]

"Can't shake the hand wearing a barbed glove either," she says, glancing to him with the flash of a smirk. "I can use metaphors too," she teases, there's a slight scrunch of her nose.

"But yea," she says, approaching nearing the spigot and resting the original glass down on the appropriate surface. Laying her hands down on another she leans in a bit, "Folk aren't gonna get friendly with Thul so long as they're friendly with the Empire. So.. you're kinda your own worst enemy right there," she says with a small shrug.

[Zeno Thul]

"I don't know. I've shaken some barbed hands in the past," he says with a return smirk. "Hurts a bit, but sometimes the benefits are worth a bit of pain. How do you think House Thul ended up with the Empire hanging about? Nobody on Alderaan was extending a safe hand. Some even bit our extended hand when we came back, which hurt even more than needing to rely on Imperial allies. But we'd rather have Alderaanian allies than those from off world."

[Riss]

Riss furrowed her brow, bringing both hands up behind her head and holding a thought. Tapping the toe of her shoe against the ground behind her as she tackles with it a bit.

"Should probably focus on the wine, mm?" she suggests with a light smile. "Don't wanna ruin the mood," she offers, smile growing a bit as she glances toward the glasses.

[Zeno Thul]

He nodded and filled Riss's cup from the spigot before offering it back to her.

"As I said, this is a dry red. I prefer dries myself."

[Riss]

"They're.. rougher than they need to be," she says, accepting the glass into hand and giving it a swirl from her wrist. Taking a sip, she settles it down by her waist. "Sweeter, is my taste," she offers with a slight smile. "Guess I'm disagreeing with you on every point," there's a slight scrunch of her nose as she says it.

"Why don't we talk more about family then, mm? All the stuff we don't know about the ones mixed up together. Mm?"

[Zeno Thul]

He nods at the suggestion. "I don't mind a bit of disagreement. Something I got used to during my time as a Sith. Particularly with my father on certain things. But families are the people you can fight with then turn around and fight beside. Always fight to keep them close. I imagine you and your brother are pretty tight?"

[Riss]

"Depends a bit on how you look at it," she says with a brief, very brief, smile. Taking a couple steps in the need for motion she continues, Brother and sister Kriff. Love him, but he's an idiot," she chuckles.

"Enough of one to be manipulated by your Tera with the worst performance I've ever seen."

[Zeno Thul]

"A bad performance is part of the charm," he says with a shrug. "Everything over-accentuated and over the top. It's like comparing a fireworks show to a campfire. You can watch both and they are nice but one is much flashier."

"Is he prone to getting himself into trouble?"

[Riss]

"Not much of a show. Just hard to look at," she says as if on a thought rather than direct conversation. A shrug, "But everyone's a little good at getting themselves into trouble now and again, mm?"

"How about this Tera? She seems the sort to always stir up a heap of trouble for herself. Plenty of jilted lovers, I'm sure."

[Zeno Thul]

"She loves trouble, paydays and getting over on rivals. The act is something she's been cultivating for a long time, before I went to the Sith academy. She gets herself into trouble from time to time, but usually has someone to give her a hand up when things get bad. This time it was me, but I'm in a much different position than last time she needed a hand when I was around. So I may be able to sort her out a bit," he says with a shrug. "She'll still run rampant I imagine, but I might be able to provide a little direction."

[Riss]

Riss ponders a moment, taking a quick walk around to Zeno's other side before she looks back, "Wanna one for one all the wild stories of stuff we know they've gotten up to? Mine are.. old but still funny," she says with a half-chuckle.

/scene toward gossiping and wine?

[Zeno Thul]

"A lot of mine are older too," he says with a nod. He leads the way to the next stop on the wine tour, happy to reminisce and share stories.
