[Day 8 - LA] A Nice Day

[Dapper Dog]

"Duke Bouris Ulgo has seized the Panteer palace and is calling himself King Ulgo now... everyone is scattered I think the Spring Palace was hit... and no clue if the Queen or her family are alive!" Theron said as he tapped at the console on his end.

[Delmi Koor]

“There was an assassination attempt on Duchess Thul and her family as well. She’s injured but alive, as are her husband and kids. We took out the hit squad and have returned back to Thul manor.” She replied.

“What resources do we have available? Can we extract the Queen and her family to some place safe? Do we know where they are?”

[Dapper Dog]

"No... wait just got an SOS coming from... the museum!" he shouted. "The queen is alive at the museum!"

[Delmi Koor]

“Get what you can there immediately. I’ll try and find backup here.” She replied.

She turned to look for Xero (and the others if they were still there), “Need transport to the museum… Queen is in danger.”

[Zeno Thul]

"Have Miyi take you in the shuttle," Zeno says. He then struggles a bit to activate his comms while moving with Ziandra.

"Carza, stick with the shuttle, it's going to be moving for a priority extraction. Keep it safe."

[Blai Frayus]

Blai is way more confused than when he was Blazing his first trail in the forests of Pzob, but even he manages to put two and two together through the buzz that is still ringing through his head after a while.

"Wait... There was a coup, and an assassination attempt here?" A shot of adrenaline runs through his veins, and he starts to think of a great many people he's worried about, one after another. One of them...

He looks at Delmi. "What about the Princess, lady Koor? And the Princes, of course... Any word of them??"

He then looks at Zeno again. "Lord Thul... Be careful. If they targeted your family specifically..."

He stops mid-sentence. This is quite a lot to take in, and the ring on his ears plus all that suddenly became too much. He felt then he really, really should have been paying much more attention to politics... But then even those who did were caught off guard, apparently.

Humans were so complicated...

"On it, be careful," he said before signing off.

[Zeno Thul]

"Stay calm," he urged Blai. "Don't let panic confuse you. Let anger and purpose focus you. Go with Delmi and Miyi. I have Blackguards and Xero to help secure the estate and care for Ziandra and the children. The queen will have more problems than us."

After the folks leave there is a screenwipe and Ziandra opened her eyes, the medical droids and personnel fitting a new hand to her and letting her rest in a kolto tank. They promise Zeno she will be up and able in a few hours and the girls are in their rooms with caretakers, shaken but seemingly okay after the day’s ordeal.


Xero said, “Well we dodged a blaster bolt today, Duke-Consort, who would have thought the great Bouris Ulgo would go mad with power and seize the throne by force… it’s rhetorical of course, everyone should have expected that on some level.”

“But, they failed here, so there is a chance that they were not successful in other areas.”

[Zeno Thul]

"Well, they failed to immediately take out the queen as well, so assuming Miyi an Delmi got there in time that puts Bouris's plan in a broken state," Zeno replied. "If he survives this it won't be for long. I will hunt him down and scorch any ground he walks on for what he did to my family."

He looks to his wife in the tank, reaching out to rest his hand on the glass, then with the force. He wanted to feel what she did.

Anger? He knew the importance of it, much as of fear. He knew the importance of instinct. But even with nonsentients, he knew how that could be as dangerous as I was helpful... And he knew (or believed, which in the case was pretty much the same) that true bonds were hard to build based on instinct alone. His face showed some of his confusion, but he soon calmed down and nodded, a smile slowly coming to his face again. "We'll do our best, Lord Thul. Be careful, and may the Force be with you", he finally said in full, before joining the others to go to where the Queen might be in danger.

Xero said, "I can agree with that, milord. Though his fate if not sealed during the conflict will be decided by the people through the courts."

Meanwhile his wife feels, minor pain but she is at rest, her mind is in a subdued state due to the treatment but she isn't currently in pain. Quite the opposite.

"At least she is feeling no pain now," he says looking back to Xero from Ziandra.

"But yes, he will more than likely die in failure or face trial. He doesn't seem the type to flee his fate. Apparently he just prefers to screw it up."

The message gets a chuckle from him. "He's about a thousand times more palatable than Layne."

"You know this Daz?" Xero said.

[Zeno Thul]

"Not personally, but he made a small splash at the banquet at the start of the festival," he explains. "Related to Layne and Padawan to one of the other Jedi. Their family seems to be in a perpetual state of celebrity it seems."
