This is Weird [Day 5, LM]

[Riss]

Riss didn't come here right away, but it'd been on her mind since she woke up this morning. After all, the woman did mention him by name to cite her relation. While the showing he gave at the protest he had gave her enough ability to suspect he might be someone she could actually talk to, work with. As uncomfortable as it made her to come here seeking the Duke-Consort Zeno Thul, she'd do it if it meant Bo might be a little bit safer than he was before. Announcing her presence, her intentions, and downplaying anything they might have heard about who she really was.

[Zeno Thul]

Zeno recognized the image from security of the woman that had been talking to Joran during the HuttBall game. Curious about what she might want he has her shown in to his parlor.

He is waiting there at a small table with some water and fruit while looking over a datapad.

[Riss]

Walking through the halls was a nerve-wracking in and of itself. Sickening a little too, to a small part of her which she buried down deep as she could. Making her way into his parlor she steps forward a bit, "Hey, remember me by chance?" she asks, another few steps in she rests a hand down on her hip. "I was there.. you gave a speech. Seemed to change the minds of some of the crowd but then things turned for the worse. I helped with some of the cleanup," she said, faux-drawing a finger blaster as if she was some kind of space-cowboy.

[Zeno Thul]

Oh, she was there for that too. That's right.

He nods. "I do," he replies with a nod, sliding the datapad away. "Have a seat. Would you like some fruit or a drink?"

[Riss]

Finding herself toward a seat she shakes her head, "Thanks, but no. Had breakfast not too long ago," she says. Glancing around the room with an appraising eye she checks out what the place looks like. Like if this seemed the parlor of some evil arch-villain from a holo-movie or something.

"Thanks for letting me in. Thought.. well, thought I'd come talk to you about something. Just.. curious more about you first, mm?"

[Zeno Thul]

The room had certain dark kitsch elements to it. An old broken lightsaber hilt, a massive black tuk'ata skull, a collection of model starships of both Imperial and Republic design. But there was also a large painted portrait of him and his family along with smaller photographs on his desk. The furniture seemed a timeless minimalist design and the electronics seemed standard.

"Very well," he says picking up some fruit himself. "Lot's of people are curious about me. Usually curious about when would be a good time to accidentally hit me with a speeder or knock a statue over onto me, but a few have a more genuine interest I've learned."

[Riss]

Super villain, check.

"I'm just curious if you're just plotting something evil or.. you mean a lot of those words you said the other day. Not.. that this is something that would help Alderaan much, but it'd help me and maybe you. I'm.." she shakes her head, shifting in her seat so one leg is thrown over the other. Titling her head to the side a bit to regard him, "I'm worried about my brother and he's involved with one of yours. Not.. Thul, but Deathwright."

[Zeno Thul]

He chuckled at that. "Well, first off, yes I did mean those things I said," he looks to the portrait. "Those twins are my life. Alderaan is the only home they've ever known. Even if I am not a good person, you can trust that I want what is what's best for them and their future. That includes keeping this world safe and at peace. Before them I didn't have much of a heart. Now they are my heart."

"And second... Tera. Yes, she is a Deathwright, a cousin and family. But she's also a bit... rambunctious? That's a kind description," he says with a smirk. "She's definitely trying to rope your brother into some scheme undoubtedly. She's not exactly part of the Deathwright house per se, as she ran off... but she's still family to me. If I had to guess, there's a plot involving a ship that doesn't belong to her?"

[Riss]

"I can respect a redemption story," she says sincerely, the touch of a smile to confirm that fact. However, she left it at that as nothing more there needed said. Leaning her elbow onto one arm of the offers chair she rested her head in it as she listens along. Nodding a couple times as he unveils, pretty much everything she marked her for.

"Exactly. Moment I met her I knew her type.. was her type once," she shakes her head a little. Sitting up straight again. "Yea, a ship. Sounds like she's quite the fan of stealing ships then. You have any idea exactly why she's trying to rope him in? From knowing her? Best I figure she's trying to leave him as a patsy to hold the bag while she runs off with the ship. Or even better.. have any idea on a good way to put the pause on her to stop my little brother from embarrassing himself?"

[Zeno Thul]

"Well, you can rest assured that it's not some evil Imperial plot or some attempt to kill him. In all likeliness she actually enjoys him... for now. If the ship they're looking at is big enough for a crew, she may even be hoping to bring him along on whatever she's doing," he says with a shrug.

"Putting a pause on it probably won't work. She's slippery and skilled," he says with a shrug. "Redirecting however? That's a bit more likely. Could have a chat with her and see about different options."

[Riss]

"Nah.. already dealt with one plot to hill him this week. Kinda doubt that something like that can really happen twice in one week," she chuckles, but there's certainly that sincerity to it that shows this is more than just a joke. There's truth to the fact. Returning to consider she glances down, "I'm.. not sure I can manage that. Already called her out on what she was trying to do but my idiot brother, much as I love him, is too focused on the pretty girl. Doubt she's all too happy about me calling her out on her game either," she gives a shrug, leaning her head back and sighing.

"And now we're here. Strange life," she chuckles to herself. "Anyway.. not that I have any hope to ask, or anything to offer in return, but if you have a chance to talk with her. Maybe you can get her to back off? Last thing my little brother needs is to be used like that. It's.. harsh on a heart. Don't much care what she does otherwise, just need her not to make my brother the sap."

[Zeno Thul]

"That's actually what I meant. That I could have that chat. What she wants is a ship and freedom to do her own thing. I could see if she'd go for a deal with regular work but the freedom to do her own thing on the side," he says.

[Riss]

Eyebrows rising, "You would? Kriff wasn't ready for you to just offer it that easily," she chuckles with a slight uncertainty to her tone. Leaning up to sit more properly in her chair before she ruins it and leans forward, elbows resting onto her knees. "But y-yea, that sounds great if you can get her to do that. Not.. sure if there's anything I can do to help but I'll owe you one, mm? Just.. within reason, of course," she says with a slight smile, a huff of laugh in the air blown out through her nostrils.

[Zeno Thul]

"Well, assuming she agrees," he says with a shrug. "I had been considering making the offer a few days back, but hadn't gotten around to it with things going on as they are," he says. "And in return, I'd really just like to know what's going on with this investigation if you can find anything out. I don't want to poke my nose in and risk adding some obstruction charge to whatever poodoo has been piled on us. But you're not tied to the house so it would really just be a curious bystander poking around."

He then pulls out his commlink and sends a quick message to his cousin.

"Tera, I'd like to chat with you tonight after the cruise is over, if you can stop by. We'll have dinner and catch up."

[Dapper Dog]

Tera replied: <Of course, darling, that would be splendid. Kisses.>

[Zeno Thul]

"Well, there we go", he said after the message was replied to.

"I'm having dinner with her after the cruise."

Zeno really was quite reasonable. If you ignore the fact that he had intended to make the offer to Tera but just hadn't gotten around to it. This just potentially added a benefit.

[Riss]

There was a furrow of the brow, a glance away at the request. However she was able to settle a bit and control that as he turned his attention to the commlink. As he returned attention she was wearing a smile, "Awesome," she says, leaning back enough that she could put both arms onto the side of the chair. "I'll.. look into it if I get the chance, mm?" she suggests with another lean forward that suggested more getting up than relaxing on her knees again.

"Glad it can work out for everyone, mm?" she says, pushing herself onto her feet and crossing her arms over her chest. A slight tilt to her head with a pleasant enough smile.

[Zeno Thul]

"Going already? No desire to see the estates? We could visit the vineyard and sample the vintage they're bottling this week," he says, an honest and polite invitation, but easily turned down as he wasn't pressing.

[Riss]

Riss hesitates a moment, considers, "I-" a purse of her lips, "hadn't expected you to want to extend the hospitality I suppose. Let alone inviting me out to the vineyard," she says, a soft chuckle as she lays her arms down onto her legs, patting off her pants. A furrow of her brow she considers, and nods. "I could stick around for a chance to sample some wine though," her tone gets bright, a little more present. Laughing with a quick shake of her head, "Hard to pass up an offer like that, mmm?"

[Zeno Thul]

"I do try to be a good host," he says with a smile. "And it's always better to enjoy the vineyards with company. I'm not some great vintner or sommelier, but I am proud of the work I've put in to get it running these past few years."

He begins leading the way.
