Alderaan - Love and Intrigue

Keyhote and Sando return to the Thul estate, Keyhote with his confident hover and the Drall with a hurried scamper.

"Hmmm, I heard there was some sort of disturbance while we were away, although I confess Alderaani politics is sometimes beyond me. Either they're allowed to arrest the villains, or they're not, half measures seem so uncivilized."
Sando nods
"Exactly, on a Hutt world they'd have just been wiped out by a steady stream of mercenaries."
Keyhote gives him a look
"What? It's true yer lordship."
The Hutt shakes his head but doesn't dispute it as he enters into the compound searching for Ser Monstrous.

Working alone on his form under a tree on the grounds, they find Ser Monstrous with his archaic looking long blade.

"Ser Monstrous! Hail! That's a fine blade you are wielding."

The two immediately head over, nodding politely at the various black clad Thul troops.

"And your style...Why, it reminds me of Alderaani traditional longsword. Are you adherent of the classics?"

"It's the same blade I have always used," he replied. "What is your purpose for today, Hutt?"

"I had come to thank you for your kind 'get well soon' note. And perhaps for a friendly spar as we discussed recent happenings? You have probably not had many occasions to cross swords with a Hutt knight!"

"I was not aware that Hutts even had knights until now, it hardly seems a focus that generates spice or money, or slaves," he said.

Keyhote laughs a belly laugh, on a Hutt, that's quite a thing.
"You are not familiar with the histories then! We were a mighty warrior people once and conquest generates spice and fortune a plenty. Although I do not hold with slavery, it is the antithesis of love, an ignoble thing!"

"Your peers don't seem to agree with this stance, Hutt," he responded.

“I live by the code of the Blackguards and follow the lead of Lady Massacre and Duchess Thul, my peers are my brothers and sisters. I do not think that is the same as Hutt culture which seems much more pervasive. But we can accept that you are a possible outlier,” he responded.

Keyhote draws his heavy blade and takes a few experimental swings with loud 'wooshes' accompanying them
"But never met the Lady. 'Massacre' seems awfully villainous, I have not heard of a good massacre."

“Our names are meant to spark fear and terror in our enemies for we become what they fear most,” he replied as he stayed on the defensive.

“Villainous, we already have a Ser Villainous, perhaps the best swordswoman of the order.”

Keyhote surges forward and brings his heavy blade down in a great swing aiming at Ser Monstrous' shoulder

"No," he said. "They are simply House guardsmen. How goes your self-imposed quest?"

The Hutt's blade is deflected and he spins to the side, going for a low strike this time

"The quest goes well! I feel the near-death experience has sharpened my connection to love and connection. The matter is not clear yet but it will be. Every day of my journey love is a little closer."

"I do not understand the point of this journey? Is this to impress a mate? Do Hutts have mates?" he responded.

"Most Hutts do not. Some do when there is a deep bond, but it is a rare thing. My people can be possessive."
Keyhote falls into a comfortable rythmn of attack and defend, stretching his muscles and causing a loud 'clanging' through the estate.

"This is a quest of discovery! Of Self-worth and self-betterment! When you train with a sword are you doing it to impress a mate? Some things are done with higher aims."

"That does not explain why," he responded. "Your reasoning is... odd."
