Alderaan - Love and Intrigue

Omandri had sent word he wished to meet with the newly appointed Duchess. Their families allies for as long as he could remember and both thrown into chaos simultaneously. If there ever was a time for allies it was now.

He arrived at fortress Ulgo dressed smartly in his favored black suit and emerald green tie he approached the fortress to find Yulastranza.

The Duke is brought to a battlement, where Yulastranza waited. She said, "Afternoon, Duke Rist, strange times we live in."

Omandri greeted Yula with a smile "Afternoon Duchess, strange times indeed. Though I'd say out of the two of us you wear your promotion better." He said lightly with a wink.

Omandri looked out over the Ulgo lands resting his hands on the battlement "We have a lot of work to do." He said his voice a little distant, thoughtful. He turned back to face her "Our families have been allies for as long as I can remember, I think we'll need eachother now more than ever." His voice stronger, more confident.

"I don't disagree on that point," she said. "We will have to try to rely on each other and not trod the same paths."

He nodded "exactly and I think that starts with us, you and I not just our houses. We don't know eachother that well, I know we saw eachother at events growing up but I don't think we've had a real conversation."

He paused a little "I understand, probably better than anyone right now that trust is a hard concept at the moment but I want us to be able to trust eachother, i want us to become friends Yulastranza."

"I am not sure I am ready to trust anyone, but I am willing to work together and make things better," she said honestly.

Omandri nodded "Well hopefully with time I can prove myself a trust worthy ally and friend. For now I'm happy to know I can at least count on you as an ally."

"Where does the work begin for you?" He asked curious where her head was at planning wise.

"It already has, and not sure when it will end. There is a lot that needs doing and like you, have to assess people that I trusted to make sure this never happens again, or make it much harder for it to occur in the future," she said seriously.

He nodded "Yes, thorough internal audits are always difficult. Putting people under a microscope you trust can't be easy. I suspect my time away will make some of that a little easier."

He took a breath "Well just know I'm here if you need help and when you are ready, to be more than just an ally." He said giving her a smile "I could use a new sparring partner as well since mine is leaving. Just because we are becoming Duke and Duchess is no excuse to go soft." He said grinning a little.

"I have seen you fight, you might even be out of my league, Duke Rist, but I appreciate it," she said offering her hand.

he chuckled a little "You flatter me duchess." he took her hand gently by the fingers and placed a soft kiss on the back of it in a more old school but appropriate form of good bye "I'll be in touch Duchess." he said with an effortless smile as he righted himself.

He released her hand and put his hands in his pockets as he gave her a final nod and turned to leave. In the days to come there was an insurmountable amount of work to do but with allies and friends by his side they could get it done, together.
