Acquainted with the Fight (D9, EM)

[Delmi Koor]

Delmi woke up early the next morning… it was usually hard to sleep the night after an engagement and this night was no different. She found her way out into the hills outside of town.

She walked up a rocky hill overlooking the city and the mountains in the distance… It was a pretty place… but it didn’t appear this would be her resting place.

It’d been an eventful week. Revelations upon revelations. But the revelations didn’t lead her to stay here… they pushed her on. To where… she did not know yet. But she’d enjoy the scenery here while she still could.

[Dapper Dog]

It was a nice peaceful day with thranta riders in the distance, it seemed a far cry from the chaos of the day prior.

Theron checked in on holo, “Been in meetings with various key Ulgo figures in the attack, hard to rule out if they were motivated by the Cunning Man’s organization or if this was just Bouris Ulgo. Maybe both but a faceless threat isn’t going to go over well with the locals so Bouris is probably going to shoulder the blame.”

[Delmi Koor]

She nodded as her holo popped on again. Always the holo with Theron.

“He’s the one who ordered the coup. And the tension that pushed him there wasn’t completely fake. They picked their target well…”

She paused, “Anything on Blackkat’s dossier of files yet?”

[Dapper Dog]

“We got the cells under monitoring or brought in the more dangerous of them, locals, with no knowledge of the conspiracy. I think this will be a pattern going forward. They utilize disposable agents and keep the key members far from the action besides maybe your mother? Or this Cunning Man, but even if we didn’t get much headway, Alderaan didn’t fall,” he said confidently.

[Delmi Koor]

She nodded, “The people stood up and said ‘No’. Alderaan was strong enough this time. Gotta make sure other places can follow suit.”

[Dapper Dog]

"What's the plan from here? No shining prince to woo?" he responded looking down at his datapad.

[Delmi Koor]

“Not much point anymore. And not any calls from him to hang out. He seems like the type who wants to be chased… And I don’t chase like that.” She replied.

“Plan is to find the next fight… and be there to make it go the right way too.”

She kicked a rock down the hill.

“How about you? What you gonna do with your time left on Alderaan? Take Agent Wren on a date around the Maze?”

[Dapper Dog]

“You have to be joking,” he said dryly. “No, I am going back to Coruscant and then probably Nar Shaddaa to track some weapons smuggling by Black Sun. Might even have to go undercover, we’ll see. Probably won’t be as exciting as this mission.”

[Delmi Koor]

“Let me know if you need any help. I’ll be checking back in with Havoc Squad soon enough. The boys and girls never mind doing a bit of work for the right cause.”

[Dapper Dog]

"I am sure you will have more important things to do," he responded.

[Delmi Koor]

“Believe it or not… I’m invested in seeing you survive.” She replied with what warmth Delmi could.

“I have great confidence in you Theron… I think you are gonna be a great source of good someday… There aren’t many people I think of that way.” She paused.

“Don’t be getting yourself killed over some stupid smuggling op. The galaxy is a complex place… only getting more complex. Gonna need you to make sure it doesn’t destroy itself.”

[Dapper Dog]

He creased his brow and then said, "Yeah, well the bad guys have to be fought. That's how we win. Being careful isn't exactly in our vocabulary."

[Delmi Koor]

She nodded slowly a couple of times, "Well... won't say be careful then. So... uhhh... Don't die."

[Dapper Dog]

"Thanks, well whatever you do best of luck to you. I have more briefings to endure," he said.

[Delmi Koor]

She nodded, "Have a moment of fun if you can. And good luck."

[Dapper Dog]

"We catch the Cunning Man, maybe, until then I have work to do," he replied and then ended the call.

[Delmi Koor]

Delmi nodded again and then slowly lowered her wrist back down to her side as she stared out over the city.

She let out a sigh... She was never comfortable in the quiet times even with all the beauty of Alderaan stretched out before her.
