[Day 3 - ME] Thranta, Thranta, ride a Thranta

After taking some time to speak with the other riders and watching Desilijic somehow become more endearing in his failure, Jocasta made her way over to the Queen.

Coming to attention, she gives a respectful salute, "Your Highness, this is quite an impressive flock you have bred here. May I ask, what type of diet do you prefer for your stable, natural or supplemented?"

"We are quite particular with their dietary intake, we have a team of scientists and dieticians to attend to them," she responded before going into detail about their daily requirements and schedule of feedings.

"Nothing but the best for our winged children."

"Please is mine, Lord Ulgo, come to enjoy my thrantas?" she offered.

"Word spread of yer fine creatures Duchess, 'n Baroness Miyi said ye'r one o' the finest riders in th' area." Garthe replies with a genuine smile.

"How long've ye been workin' with the species?"

"Most of my life, even when we... retired to Nar Shaddaa we brought a few of the girls with us, but they did not fare well in the... air of the Hutt world. Still, I love them," she responded.

"Queen Solara is a very skilled rider though, the real master."

"Good t' be back in yer ancestral home then?" Garth asks curiously. "Ah can' imagine how hard 'twould be t' be banished from th' only home ye'd ever known."

There's an earnestness in his voice that betrays a sentimentality about the concept of home and family.

Ziandra said, "Yes it was... a harsh lesson, but our House and vassals endured and we have become stronger for it. What of yourself?"

"It's mah first time here, ma mother were born here, but left when she were young. Ah never knew this were ma family home until now."

He lowers his eyes and head slightly. "But it is home t' some beautiful places and people. It is a place, 'n a peopl ah'd like t' spend some more time gettin' t' know."

"After yesterday's performances, ah were a little a'feared o' how 't would be received." Garth admits blushing heavily. "Miyi called me a dork, but an adorable dork at dinner t'night."

"Ah know there's been some tension twixt our houses, but ah hope Miyi's not th' only one t' think well, or at least not ill, of me."

"Ah understand, ma'am, an' am glad ye haven't taken mah pursuit of Baroness Miyi as to much o' a distraction upon her duty to her house." Garth replies, glad the pair could find some common ground.

"We can all be civ'lized 'bout such things in this day and age."

"But since the topic is broached, what are your intentions, Lord Ulgo? Passing fancy? Distraction for Lady Yulastranza? The mind races to find understanding," she said giving him her full attention.

When I was a young girl, the handler suggested we try a natural diet, including live prey to stimulate their appetites and provide enrichment for their lives. As a neophyte at the time, I didn't understand the implications, other than it was enjoyable to watch them chase after a target drone until it released a cloud of aeroplankton for them to feed on."

Jocasta nervously headed over to a thranta adjacent to the Queen's own mount. Luckily, it was already saddled and ready. Adjusting the tack, she took seat and followed the Queen into the sky. It was, surprisingly easy, she let the beast do the work and only gave it subtle direction. It all came back to her, like riding a thranta.

Jocasta soar through the air on her thranta, letting her hair fly free behind her. She did her best to keep her composure and not act like a giddy child in front of the Queen.

She had forgotten how empowering it felt to control a beast so large and and how liberating it was to take to the skies. If her natural talents had not led her into a leadership role in the infantry, she might have pursued a career as a pilot.

She fell back into the favorite maneuver of her childhood riding lessons, a simple wave flying pattern that would create a momentary sensation of free fall.

The Queen was not far behind as she urged her thranta on and pierced the clouds.
