[Day 4 - LA] The Beach Episode (Twin Event?)

His smile still remained but it changed, shifted. His mood most present in his eyes, his overall expression outwardly pleasant but clearly a sadness was buried there "uh well not exactly. It is something I took up after my service. I wasn't technically a pacifist while I grew up here but I always found what my family did wrong. I've....I've taken more life than I'm comfortable with but that was war. After I saw what war was, I vowed never to take another life and instead spend my days saving people." He explained his Gaze shifting to the sand at the beginning but by the end meeting Aurilie's eyes.

"I see," she murmured as she gave her cup a stir, which had mostly ice left at this point. "I was under the impression that you served as a medic in the military but that was my mistake for making that assumption. It wasn't my intention to broach too much into the topic of death, just merely get a grasp of your philosophy, my sincere apologies about that. It must have been very tough to come to that conclusion. I can very much respect that decision, even if I don't share it myself."

He shook his head dispelling the negative energy, his smile brightening a little "You were right I was a medic but a combat medic. The idea of sitting in a tent or a medical center only able to help the ones that made it back wasn't appealing to me. Wanted make sure as many people could make it back to those centers as possible, have to do that in the field."

He sipped a little from his drink and waved a hand dismissively "and don't worry about the death talk. I'm a doctor raised by assassins death has been a part of my entire life."

Aurilie smiled faintly at the reassurance from Omandri. It was perhaps less about death himself and more about the rift surrounding his pacifism. "Of course, well, still I think you've deserved a break from that with your homecoming to Alderaan. This is meant to be a pleasant occasion to all, I believe is the point of the occasion. That said, I'll return back indoors before I get too much sun on me. Thank you for the enlightening conversation, Mister Rist. I'm sure we'll return into each other again."
