[Day 3 - ME] Thranta, Thranta, ride a Thranta

She bowed respectfully as the Queen brought her thranta up to a speed Jocasta would not be comfortable with, at least not at these heights, and pulled away.

There was a moment where the adrenaline of flying above the clouds and speaking so directly with the Queen caught up with Jocasta, and then it passed.

She sat back and enjoyed the ride, watching others fly nearby.

"Let us say," Garth pauses for a few moments, picking his words carefully and stroking his chin. "That mah intentions may not perf'ctly align with Lord Bouris's. Ah can go into detail if y' need, but now is not the place, and ah think ye're a canny enough player of these games t' discern mah meaning."

"You will fit in just fine on Alderaan, Lord Ulgo," she said with a warm smile.

"Ah hope so, but let's see what yer stable has t' say shall we?" Garth answered with a matching smile.

He'd ridden one this morning, or more accurately, he'd been a passenger on one, but the experience had apparently stood him in good stead for a more active ride this evening. As the rain fell lightly, Garth soared, it was slower than he was used to flying, but still got his blood pumping.

"Or," Cynella said, raising her finger, "we may have a new thranta metaphor. What it would be, is yet to be discovered. Otherwise, yes, the festival will surely have something to tell us too." Her eyes went to the Hutt and his continued antics. Perhaps we may find some metaphor in him? Oh goodness.

Gladdened that they did not linger on said failures, Cynella turned back to the thranta. However, she made no attempts to pet it too just yet. "I suppose you could say the same of the various peoples of the galaxy. I don't know if our human noble standards would fare well in a court of Trandoshans." She tapped her lips. "Do they even have such a thing? Anyways, yes, I'm glad you have faith in me. With your support and others, I'm renewed in my thoughts that I will yet fit in here."

She snorted then covered her mouth (how embarrassing of an amused reaction!) at the maze reference. "Yes, I suppose I may always hop the edges if need be. Hopefully, I won't need to do such a thing.

"Same with jumping onto this thranta, apparently. I suppose it wouldn't do if they could only bring a rider. Since we are not carrying so much, I imagine that yes, we will not be too much of a burden." With all that said, she placed her hand into Aurilie's and waited for her instruction for mounting.

Aurilie couldn't help but glanced away, looking slightly abashed for a moment before looking at Cynella. "Well, nothing so audacious...Actually, I was thinking about the few times I might have backtracked whenever we found ourselves in a dead-end. You can always pivot and try again. I suppose hopping the edges is still always an option, of course. Perhaps a metaphor of not letting your confines keep you trapped? I imagine that Lady Cynella's charms and clever wit will put her on her intended path either way."

She would take her hand gently and help Cynella climb atop the thranta with her guidance, taking the seat behind her. "Everything fine before we take off, I hope? So long as we keep any flying tricks or racing to a minimum, I'm sure two will be just fine."

Aurilie couldn't help but glanced away, looking slightly abashed for a moment before looking at Cynella. With that, she flopped onto the beast. Heck, she hadn't even ridden a horse before; that'd been her brothers' fancy. "Oh we're rather high up here, aren't we?" she asked. "There aren't any seat belts, are there? Hm." She tapped the saddle a few times. "I wonder if this could be comfier."

"Oh! Oh, yes, right. Persistence instead of brute force," Cynella said, fluffing out her hair. Damn prior fall still left it no so prim and proper! "Things always work out in the end. I've not suffered a failure so terrible that it cannot be recovered from."

Riding incidents are rare, so you can be assured that you're in good hands..." She smirked faintly with a shrug as she cast a glance behind her. "Well, wings."

With both of them at the ready, she gave a few pats on the side of their shared steed to give some indication that they were ready. The creature would give a distinct throaty rumble that was akin to some sort of land whale. It began to flutter its wings and take them higher, gliding through the breeze picked up around them. Aurilie wasn't aiming to reach the clouds in a quick hurry but nevertheless, the stables where they started would quickly disappear behind them and merely become a smaller part of the wilderness of Alderaan.

And as one thranta lifted off, another landed. Garth dismounted from the creature, handing the reins to an attendant.

The wind and the rain had cleaned the mud from the Ulgo representative, but when he would return to the Fortress later that evening, his outfit was destined for the trash heap.

"I'm sure there could be a few more things added here for comfort and reassurance although thranta typically manage their flight better with less. Riding incidents are rare, so you can be assured that you're in good hands..." She smirked faintly with a shrug as she cast a glance behind her. "Well, wings."

Finally, the Count took to the skies on the befriended beast, with flare.

"Oh surely. But the shape or materials could certainly be changed without adding too much weight," she said despite having no real experience with engineering. "It just seems rather odd that there isn't like a harness. Or what about parachutes?"

She bit her lip as the thranta let out its warning grumble. As they went out into the sky, her grip on the saddle tightened and she couldn't help but close her eyes. Better to not think about the height than to have to face the fear directly, right?

"Parachutes?" she said quizically, almost like such a thing had never occurred to her, likely it was unbecoming to ride with such extraneous gear. Maybe because it broke the tradition of fearless flying. "I'm sure that there could be some improvements made to the experience if there were some enterprising individuals who wished to look into it. Do you think this is something that the Kuati Houses would be interested in? A sort of blending tradition with modern aesthetics? I think you might have some trouble fitting engines on a thranta, unfortunately."

Admittedly, the pair would be catching some rain as they left further from the range of the nearest rain repulsors. Aurilie didn't mind so much, despite her outfit. She would glance back to see how Cynella held up, the closed eyes weren't a good indication and she didn't want to traumatize the lady. "Is everything all right, Lady Cynella?"

While others took to the skies, like flying above the clouds to avoid the rain, Aurilie decided to take another route and fly toward the familiar House Panteer estate and the festival around, likely where they could shield themselves and keep flying at a lower altitude.

Kat had spent the time so far admiring the animals and petting those waiting to fly. One in particular stood out to her, and she opened herself to the living Force, feeling the winged creature through the bonds of light that connected them.

"You really wish to fly with your siblings, I can tell. Alright, if you let me..." patting its head, the Knight mounted into the saddle, not without some experience.

Her own feelings of excitement and thrill passed to the Thranta as they began to fly, and the creature was perhaps a bit too excited by it all as it dashed off into the sky.

Kat recieved a polite nod when she joined them in the sky, he'd been seeing the blonde Jedi around quite a bit recently. Well the dark haired jedi struggling with her mount too, he recalled as he spotted Layne amongst the crowd of fliers. Not that such particularly meant anything, they were all at this faire together after all.

He was a bit surprised by the sheer numner of Jedi present though.

"It could be an intriguing project," Cynella said. "I'm not sure if that would be tapping into any market though. My parents always said that I think too grandiose!"

Cynella too didn't seem too fussed by the rain, though there might have been other things on her mind. "Oh, yes, everything's fine." She opened her eyes and glanced around, still holding on tight. "It's just that I've never been so high up. Well, barring having a huge amount of metal surrounding me. It's not easy to see, well, the ground when it's usually a ship floor underneath!"

As they made their way over, she tried to see what she could possibly recognize from here. "I suppose you are more acquainted with this than I am! You move... without hesitation!"

"You ride well, master Jedi," the Duchess called as she settled in on her left and allowed her thranta to glide.

Having got the hold of it, the Count navigated his thranta closer to outher sky riders, the Queen and Jocasta to be precise, while admiring landscapes below.

Garth looked up and watched the riders wheel in the sky from inside the meager protections of the tent, he glanced across the few beasts still on the ground, thinking ahead to the race in a few days time.

"Wonder which of y'all ah'm gonna team up with." He whispers softly as he moves around the stable, checking out the thrantas.

Having got the hold of it, the Count navigated his thranta closer to outher sky riders, the Queen and Jocasta to be precise, while admiring landscapes below.

The Queen glanced at him and said, "Found your wings, Count Serreno?"

"It appears so, Your Majesty, at least for the time being." He bent respectfully for a greeting, shortening the reins to not give the creature an idea to plummet. "I assume there is much more to riding these creatures than a casual flight on an already broken one in good weather. Is it an old tradition on Alderaan?"

"They are a beloved creature of Alderaan, and excellent for riding and getting about. We adore them," she responded warmly.
