[Day 5 - MM] Root Stew Anyone?

There were points in the conversation Kat wanted to adress, but it was hard to get a word in. And a lot of it was confusing. Counterespionage and talking in code... none of that made sense to her, and she wasn't sure what Breela was anymore either.

Layne and Thy's silence was... very tempting to just join in with.

So she allowed herself to join the temptation and sat in silence, eating her root stew. She had shared all the information she had that was important.

[Zayne Rist]

"I would never tell of Jedi intelligence, first of all. I wish to do the must good I can do here, but with who that is is seems to be up for debate right now. I have given you all the Intel I have, and synopsis at this point. You dismissed Jedi Knight Katarzyna out of hand, but then accuse of only listening to I wish to. Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black to me. Unlike you, I will listen to what you have to say, because I am a Jedi, and is what Jedi are all supposed to do, Baesal." He stated in a cool and detached tone.

He was going to have to have a talk with the Council about this incident with Master Zyn next time he was summoned. He was curious if there were more times like what he's just witnessed.

[Layne Hoshin]

"Maybe..." she ended up breaking her silence after all, "...we just don't play these types of games."

It might seem a bit strange for Layne to be the one speaking of idealism and what not. It *was* strange, in fact, considering her involvement with the Sixth Line most of them probably hadn't even heard of.

"We don't pick sides. And we don't change how we talk and act because we're afraid bad people are listening in. We just trust in the Force, and *act* as it requires us to. That is what I have always done. It doesn't matter that I've mucked it up along the way, because in the end things turned out alright. I've kept secrets. They don't matter now anymore but in their time, they were some of the biggest secrets in the galaxy in fact. And in the end, I resolved the reasons why I kept them. But I am not a cunning spy, and things would've resolved in a better way if I hadn't kept those secrets in the first place. I am not a noble, or a diplomat either. And I don't want to be either. I don't want to make my decisions based on spreadsheets, rules of diplomatic conduct, and risk-assessment reports."

She looked among them all. "How many of you have even just sat down since coming here, and simply *listened* to the Force?"

Layne closed her eyes for a moment, then held out her hand; gently pulling a nearby rock to her with her mind and allowing it to just float in front of her. Part of it was almost more of an experiment for herself, to let the Force give judgement and direction to the words that she was going to say. And it responded by dividing itself between Light and Dark; yes, and no.

"I know we can not rely on the Force for *everything*. But we are Jedi. Not bureacrats. Not analysts. Not politicians or spies. We should rely on the Force more than we seem to be doing."

Baesal nodded at Layne's words but squinted at the Rist...staring at him for a moment then finally brought a hand to her chin

''So...do you have the hots for knight Ulgo?''

What the hell sort of bizarro world did I wake up to this morning?

"Baesal Zyn. That's enough," Kat said calmly, raising a hand. Some things were just uncalled for.

[Baesal Zyn]

''See...she can talk for herself Knight Rist'' she said with a wide grin

[Katarzyna Ulgo]

Kat was thoroughly confused by what was going on and was very much not seeing what there was to grin about. "Don't act so juvenile to your fellow Jedi speaking their opinions."

Putting down her empty bowl she looked to the others.

"We continue to act as peacekeepers and mediators where the opportunities arise. I believe we should continue to find information. As Jedi we can trust in the Force, but we must be able to give other people something solid for them to see as proof. Knowledge and furthering cooperation between the Houses I think will be our way to stand against this threat. I will reach out to some people I know to help with bringing the Houses closer together instead of them being at eachother's throats."

[Baesal Zyn]

''Yes, that was what I was talking about.'' she turned to Knight Ulgo with a dispassionate air ''I see you can't take a bit of mirth...a shame...but if you don't want us being 'juvenile', as you say, don't treat us like children either because you have been fairly condescending thus far.''

She ate a spoonful of stew

[Dapper Dog]

"Does everyone have to have the last word? This is exactly why I have this little camp to avoid this," she said regretting her future inclusion in the group chat.

"We have a direction, we keep the peace, and try not to strangle each other."

[Baesal Zyn]

''Fair enough Thy. The stew is delicious...which local root do you use for it?''

[Katarzyna Ulgo]

Kat gave a nod to Thy, appriciative of her words.

"I'm sorry, Thy... This isn't what I thought it would be like." Her voice was soft, but a little strained with weariness. Maybe I should've gone to somewhere remote like Hoth instead.

She had said her piece of what they should do, and felt no need to push it further. Her immediate path was clear at least. "Knight Carrack, I'll be by the thranta when you're ready to return." Kat wouldn't be so rude to just leave Tethys there when she had given her the ride here. "I see no further point to this meeting, so I will take my leave. May the Force by with you. And thank you for the root stew, Thy. And again, my apologies for disrupting the peace of your camp."

With that, she rose and brushed off her clothes, before stepping away and over to the tethered thranta.

"Spindle root, some herbs... secret spices," she said calmly but kindly.

Kat gave a nod to Thy, appriciative of her words.

He politely bowed to Thy. "Thank you, this was good root stew. And the conversation swimmingly for me." He said with a smile. "Oh, and don't worry, I would not run off to House Rist, just trying to figure out a few things is all. And, I think I have my answers." He left the camp site off back his lodging.

Baesal looks at the leaving Rist

You came here with the answers you wanted already in hand

[Tethys Carrack]

"I should be on my way, too." Tethys nods to Thy. "Thanks for breakfast, Master Yulani. Your field cooking is worth the trip," she adds, the corners of her lips quirking as she stands up, brushing a few stray twigs from the skirts of her robes.

''This meeting was something for sure'' she frowned, thinking. ''Breela...I've been thinking about your idea. It is too late for us but...'' she tilts her head ''How many outside of us know you are a Knight?''

[Breela Po]

Breela had fallen silent. Her heart a little broken and feeling completely useless she thought about lingering with Thy in quiet meditation until Baesal stirred her back to the present. "What?" Her voice cracked. "A few kids, a store owner, and Omandri Rist. Why?"

[Baesal Zyn]

''Because a disinformation is far too late for pretty much everyone of us except for you and Thy.'' she began explaining ''We have been fairly visible but...if almost no one knows that your are with the order then we can actually flip the tables on them.''

She narrowed her eyes, focusing on nothing in particular

''From what I understand you knew Tuvi right? Did his group see you with him?''

[Breela Po]

"They did." Breela nodded, "Matter of fact I offered the poor Churi my services in case things went south for him. He never contacted me though. Also you should know I did this in front of Black-kat. It may be that she saw through the ruse, even though I gave him a fake name and number."

[Baesal Zyn]

''Can you hand me your comm-link? I'll see if it's sliced...if so it might be too late but if not maybe we can get you in somehow''
