[Day 5 - MM] Root Stew Anyone?

[Dapper Dog]

A small cooking fire was setup and root stew was cooking on it. A small tent was neatly packed and stowed next to a pack and a speeder. Thy was meditating as the stew cooked. Something told her to expect guests.

It was a nice morning.

Some messages, by word of mouth preferably, would've likely been passed around the Jedi in the morning... or possibly night-time. Messages regarding how the Jedi should definitely all touch base again, set some things straight, and definitely do it somewhere without cameras or people watching/listening in. Fortunately, there was one such place...

...Thy's little camp out in the wilds.

Which is where Layne showed up in the morning... frowning like hell; her Padawan was with her again now, presumably, since there was no more threat in that regard. Which was one of the *many* things she had to report. Others, presumably, had reports of their own to make as well.

"Good morning, Layne, Tyche, root stew is almost ready," she said warmly.

Using a thranta to get out to the camp, Kat was the next to join them.

Before she had left she had disassembled her own comm and left the datapad back in her room. After the mess of messages she had woken up to this morning, it had seemed prudent. Especially since two others had been sharing all sorts of weird stuff over messages all of yesterday.

There was no frown on her face, but her usual calm seemed disrupted this morning. "Thy, Layne, Tyche... good morning."

[Dapper Dog]

"Please have some stew, Kataryzna," she said.

[Layne Hoshin]

Layne would nod to people as they came in, sit down, and get a bowl ready for stew; gesturing for Tyche to do the same even though she probably didn't want to eat root stew.

She really wasn't looking forward to addressing *certain* issues that probably *needed* to be addressed.

[Katarzyna Ulgo]

"Thank you, Thy. That sounds nice," she nodded, sitting down to accept a bowl. "Padawan Tyche, how is your arm? No discomfort I hope?" It seemed like she found more her calm of falling back into formalities, and the padawan at least was innocent in all this.

Most likely.

[Zayne Rist]

Zayne wandered into the camp. He surveyed the area around the camp site for a minute.

"Hello, everyone." He said calming. "I hope everybody is doing well today."

[Baesal Zyn]

The high-efficiency motor of a hover struck was heard not too far form the meeting spot. Not too long after a happy Baes came along grinning.

''Good morning everyone!''

[Dapper Dog]

"So many guests," Thy said warmly.

"The Force has called and we have answered."

[Tethys Carrack]

Tethys, too, had come by thranta along with Kat, and helps herself to a cross-legged seat by Thy's fire. "It's good to see you in person again, Master Yulani." And the others, too, but it's been at most a couple of days since she last met with all of them.

"Baesal, I think it might be prudent to park your truck at a distance and power down all the electrics. We have some indication our comms may be compromised--might as well make sure this discussion is as private as we can make it, I think."

[Baesal Zyn]

''Oh yeah'' she said while she reached out for a log to sit down on ''Been there, done that. I purged my systems and retooled the security while I drank my caff earlier''

She took some time to stretch

''Those who did this are good but not good enough. They are on Alderaan and tried to make it look like House Thul did it.''

[Dapper Dog]

Thy said, "I seem to have missed something important."

[Katarzyna Ulgo]

Kat sighed.

"I recieved a lot of messages from both of you yesterday, Layne, Baesal," Kat said as she looked at the two Jedi. She wasn't angry, just mildly disappointed. "A lot of it seemed... outlandish and kind of crazy. And a lot of it also seemed to be very sensitive information? I don't know about anyone else here, but I have just a standard com. Nothing fancy or encrypted. Just the standard one the Order supplied me with years ago."

''Mine is and yet they still got through'' she replied ''We are dealing with professionals here. We should be thankful they sliced through for these rumors. This means we are cornering them''

[Katarzyna Ulgo]

"Knight Zyn, you can't just send such sensitive information and accusations to other people's coms, even if they are Jedi. If half of what you were writing yesterday is true, then it is something far too important to be relayed through such channels where it can be picked up on so easily," Kat responded, feeling more that they needed first to adress the security-issue at hand before moving onto the other topics.

''I repeat: my channels were secure yet they were breached anyway. Meeting anywhere would have yielded similar results as there are security cams everywhere...a sliced comm-link could be used to listen to any conversation even if you do not wear it.''

She raised a hand

''If you don't want any security threat then live in the woods like Knight Yulani here but until then secure your comms if you must but we still need to transmit intel fast. It is likely that Layne did not know the full threat she was ready to face but thought we should be made aware should something goes ill. I think that is sensible. FYI: the last message that came from my comm was obviously fake, just as the 'leaked' one in the media''

[Zayne Rist]

"This is Alderaan, anything you say on coms or face-to-face is likely to be heard by spies. Even secure lines. But, it is still better to use codes and secure lines that change with regularity." He said in agreement with Kat.

[Tethys Carrack]

Tethys clears her throat pointedly. “That is precisely why we’re here in the woods with Master Yulani, isn’t it? To transmit information securely? So let’s power down everything, secured or not, purged or not, then stick it all out of audio range, and… get to it.”

Thy draws an a thraxxian otter in the dirt with a smile and said with a teasing tone, "At least we still have memes." She stood and started pouring bowls of stew and added, "Why didn't anyone tell me about the group chat?"
