Alderaan - Love and Intrigue

Taking time to exercise had fallen to the wayside the past days of the festival, sadly...

So Kat put on her swimsuit again, and returned to the area the Beach Club had been at. A jog through the sand, and maybe cool down in the waters afterwards with a swim sounded great to her.

Somewhere nearby, the tethered thranta was sniffing the nearby plants in curiosity after she had finished her jog and was standing at the beach, letting the tide wash over her feet as she looked at the morning sun.

A rogue Garth emerges from the surf, decked out in the same kneelength shorts he wore to the beach party, his hair slicked back from the water, and his necklaces bouncing on his chest as he jogs to the shore, surfboard clutched against his ribs.

"Greetings Knight Kat, lovely morn' fer a surf innit."

"Good morning, Garth," she smiled and greeted him, her voice a touch more breathy than normal from her run. "It's a great day for some workout, yes. How are you doing? The waters feel pretty nice."

Garth nods then ruffles his hair, splattering Kat with a few droplets, grinning cheekily as he does so.

"Even second hand waters?" He jokes. "Good fer getting th' adrenalin pumpin' before the race this afternoon."

She chuckled and wiped away the water that had landed on her face.

"The thranta race, hm? Sounds like you've had a change of heart regarding the beasts. You complained a lot about them before."

"Ah'd still rather take Tallulah fer a trip by the coast and through th' canyon, but the ol swoop racer in me can't turn down any contest like this." Garth admits with downcast eyes.

"Maybe some of th' things around here 're growin' on me though."

"I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it more."

She brushed some of her hair away from her face after a wind had whipped it around a bit. Her eyes looking over Garth's form. "I know it's not my place to ask, and you don't need to answer... but I've been wondering, where you got the crystal pendant from."

Omandri had shown up to the beach with a similar mind set as Kat. Sand running was its own physical challenge and one he hadn't done in a while.

Omandri was on the beach in workout wear, black loose fitting shorts and a skin tight tank top. He waved to the other beach goers with a smile "Well good morning Ulgos. See I'm not the only one to take advantage of this beautiful beach this morning."

"I know it's not my place to ask, and you don't need to answer... but I've been wondering, where you got the crystal pendant from."

"Twere mah mom's, Varidess, Bouris's youngest sister. She gave it t' me...well...before she passed." He replies before Omandri comes bounding up the beach.

"It is a good day fer it, Doctor Rist." Garth greets the man with a smile and an extended hand.

Kat had little recollection of Varidess, apart from the paintings and pictures. Then again, she reminded herself that the woman had passed away before she was born. So she nodded, accepting the explanation for now as they had company.

"Good morning, doctor Rist. Glad to see others outdoors taking care of their bodies too." She glanced around, a bit amused. "Two Ulgos and a Rist meeting at odd hours in a remote location. People might start to think we're up to something," Kat remarked with a humored tone.

"What else is new?" Garth sighed with frustration. "All them riots and rebellin' gainst th' crown, with our name on everyone's lips? Ah'm surprised we weren't th' ones locked down instead 'f the Thul."

Omandri took Garth's hand and gave it a firm shake returning the smile and nodding to Kat

He chuckled a little at her statement at first "Well most people I'm assume I'm up to something nefarious no matter who I am meeting with. Benefits of the name, I think it took me talking to your colleague Knight Hoshin three or four times before she believed I actually wanted to help. Though that had other complications granted."

At Garths point he shrugged a little "Luckily Brannis made the statement admonishing the rioters to show house Ulgo wasn't supporting the unrest. Probably went a long way to help. Plus you and Knight Ulgo have done nothing but good deeds during the festival as far as I'm aware."

"Mm, I'm glad for the statement Brannis issued on behalf of House Ulgo. Though it was long overdue, I felt. But thank you, for your praise, dr. Rist."

She stepped away from the water for now, finding a dry spot on the sand to sit. "There's been a lot going on this week, on top of the festival. But I'm glad that both of you have been making strong efforts for working together with the other houses, and other people. This is a time where Alderaan needs healing, and we can only do that by working together."

"I've been talking with prince Gaul, and I suggested a summit of the House leaders to happen. Bring all the major players to the table, talk things out, and maybe work together more in dealing with these instigators."

Garth slams the tip of his board into the sand and throws his towel on the sand near the others. Laying down, he tucks his hands behind his head and gazes into the sky.

"Ah've tried, but a drop of good's quickly diluted in an ocean've bad. Gotta start somewhere though, right? Thankfully ah think our reputation ain't fallen so far th't we can't recover."

A broad smile crosses Garth's face. "Sounds good t' me cuz. See who's really interested in what's best fer this place."

Omandri nodded in agreement "yeah a summit could be a good thing have everyone sit down and just talk things out for once rather than dealing with statements here and there. Surprised Gaul would be into that sort of thing though. He doesn't seem terribly interested in politics most of the time." Pretty much everytime Omandri had seen the prince he was drinking and partying or planning to drink and party.

"The prince cares more and does more work than he lets on, I've found. His return to Alderaan was to be of help to his family, his siblings most of all," Kat said honestly, but also in praise of Gaul.

"When I met with him yesterday, he was speaking with his office on Coruscant in relation to the senatorial-duties there."

Garth hadn't spent much time with the Panteer family, he'd seen them at events, and caught up with the Queen for a few moments on the cruise, but other than that they just hadn't really crossed paths in any meaningful ways. So he was happy to leave the debate over Gaul's worthiness to the other two.

"How many houses exactly are there here?" He asked the pair. "Ah mean, there's big houses 'n little ones right, does everyone get a say?"

Omandri nodded "That tracks but makes one wonder why the party boy attitude when we could be more well served by the Prince if he seemed focused and earnest in his efforts publicly. I admit I don't know him well having only seen him at the beach party and around the festival mostly." He shrugged "but that is likely a question for the Prince himself not for you Knight Ulgo." He said with a light smile.

He looked to Garth "well there's the big ones Panteer, Ulgo, Organa, Rist, Thul, one or two others. Then numerous small families like Syrush and Uros. Giving all the minor houses a say is obviously more fair but also more....chaotic."

"Most of the smaller houses are vassals to the major ones, so... in a way, the major houses represent their vassals as well in such matters. The same way politicans work to represent members of their constituency and sectors," Kat explained, hoping it would make more sense for Garth that way.

"In the government though, all the houses are represented."

"That's what ah wondered. Isn't this just like a gov'ment thing, there's a parliament right?" Garth didn't know much about local government, but knew Brannis talked about this.

"You talking a special get together of all them folk, or smaller? Either way, a good idea t' get folks talking."
