(Day 7, EE) Drifting into the Sunset

[Breela Po]

She felt the need to leave civilization, get away from everything, to meditate. So she left for the spot Omandri had shown her. It had been some time since she had gotten away from it all. So earlier in the afternoon she grabbed up her belongings and a Thranta and let her feelings guide her back. It was still beautiful and she managed to catch the sun before it set, painting the clouds in breathtaking hues.

She finds a place to sit and takes the necessary breaths to center herself.

Then the inexplicable feeling of release came as she found herself at one with all creation. Life in every breath as the forests and valleys sighed in expectation of the coming night.

OOC: Sure I reckon, all she has is basic sense.

She feels a presence coming near and sees Jedi Knight thy approaching on her speeder. She was just traveling by and spotted the ex-Jedi and approached stopping some distance away. She got off and said, “Breela, what are you doing out here?”

“Meditating?”

[Breela Po]

"Thy?" Breela blinked, "Just clearing my head. What brings you out this way?"

[Dapper Dog]

“Just following the flows of the Force, the air is tense, I feel like something is building, like a coil about to unspring,” she said.

“You okay?”

[Breela Po]

She sighs heavily, "No... but I haven't been okay for a while."

"Please tell me you have some inkling as to which direction the threat's coming." She looks up at the crimson uncaring sky, "I wasn't smart enough to figure it out."

[Dapper Dog]

“And why does that matter? You know something is coming, not every problem can be headed off and some are bigger than us. Some things were always meant to be, no matter our actions,” she said warmly.

“You have acted as best you could, Breela. Though I admit, I am not sure on what that was, maybe talk to me about it?” she asked.

[Breela Po]

"What for? I failed." She shrugged. "I chased every lead I came across. Tried to get ahead of the conspiracy at multiple turns." She felt like something sharp was lodged in her throat. "The fact is I'm a blunt instrument in a land of cloaks and vibroknives."

She shakes her head, "Let's change the subject. The fact of the matter is we haven't seen each other in..." The realization hits her, "In decades. Shouldn't you look older? Satele looks older, why don't you look older?"

[Dapper Dog]

“It’s a long story, but I am willing to share if you are? The woman I knew would not let a minor setback dictate her path or name herself a failure. You are fighting a conspiracy that if my ears were correct has existed long before either of us knew the pointy end of a lightsaber.”

“I find the blunt instruments are the ones fixing the problems around here. Why was it important to get ahead of the conspiracy?”

[Breela Po]

She smiled, "The woman you knew had a harder heart than Tethys." She laughed, "Force! In those days the last thing I ever thought I'd do was get married and have children. I was married to my path then." She frowns, "But then I watched the order splinter, I watched my friends kill each other, I watched my master die in front of me."

Why was it important to get ahead of the conspiracy?”

"You ask why?" She sighs, "Because when the coil unravels we'll be lucky if insurrection is all we face." She shakes her head, "I wanted to spare this peaceful, beautiful planet any more hardships. I came here to save lives, keep peace... I wanted peace." She swallowed. "I'm not the woman you once knew. I'm a memory that wants to fade. A mother who wants her kittens returned to her."

[Dapper Dog]

“Yeah, me too,” at the mention of watching people they were close to die.

“Alderaan is not where it is by accident or even design of these conspirators, many thousands of choices big and small are bringing it to this point. We were brought here to deflect what we could but somethings were always meant to be no matter our choices. I want peace, but we may not get there until all things have run it’s course.”

She smiled with empathy and said, “You don’t seem any less real to me Breela, as a mother I think I feel that deep emotional well for my own child, even if I have chosen to have them raised by another. You want to do good, so you are still the woman I knew, just older, wiser, and probably more tired… like me.”

So tired.
She sniffed. "You're right." Her assessment is correct. All that's left is to trust in the force. A very heavy tear rolled down her cheek. "If you wish to share," she said softly, "I will listen. If not, you are welcome to stay and meditate with me."

She sat next to Breela and fell into the silence of meditation, content with the outcome. The Force would guide them.
