[Day 4 - LE] A Princely Waltz (Closed)

[Riss]

"We are confident her words were meant well," the Queen said.

"Nice.." she says with a half-smile, more for pleasantries than anything. Seeing as the queen was intimidating, like a stone in some ways, it took her half a minute or so to work up the courage to break into, "So.. can I ask you something? Silly personal thing.. while I've got your ear a bit," she offers with a slight smile.

[Solara Panteer]

"Our ear is here, Riss of House Lanar," she responded.

[Riss]

"Our ear is here, Riss of House Lanar," she responded.

"I.. everyone here, my peers, they put their name in the hat right. Officially, that is.. but not me? I'm curious about what was the thing that put me in this room with everyone else," she said, the softer tone in her voice suggesting that very sincere approach to her question. Something hidden beneath being the sense she feels a bit overwhelmed but the fact it happened, it was subtle but present for a keen ear.

[Solara Panteer]

"Our son made the invitations," she said simply.

[Riss]

"Okay..." she nods to herself, the realization of what that means settling her mind on something. A brief touch of a more sincere smile crossing her expression as relief sets in. Mustering up that good energy she says, "Thank you," she says, a simple phrase offered easily.

"He's.. I like him, I think," she admits easily enough, settling back after she does.

[Solara Panteer]

"Well that is a positive start to any close relationship," she responded.

[Joran Panteer]

“It’s nothing special. A unit is just that… a unit. It’s only as strong as the weakest link.”

She smiled but there was something hidden behind the smile.

Joran said, "Well keeping morale up even in the hard times is important. Soldiers lose heart, and we lose the war."

[Delmi Koor]

Delmi nodded, “A soldier without resolve isn’t a soldier at all… They’re a… liability.”

Her voice kind of trailed off at the end as her mind seemed to wander. She followed it with a soft smile to try and smooth the awkward lapse.

[Joran Panteer]

"Harsh but true," he said in agreement.

[Delmi Koor]

Delmi offered an awkward smile and a nod in response as hopefully someone else would pick up the conversation ball. It'd been a long day... and it was rather remarkable that she was still standing on her feet at all.

[Solara Panteer]

The Queen rose as she finished and said, “We are pleased to have the family in attendance, this evening was wonderful and our son has enjoyed the company of these wonderful women. We look forward to see which will prove worthy of our son, if any.”

“We bid you all good night.”

She departed with her son escorting her and that was it, the dinner was at an end.

OOC: Delmi, Jocasta, and Riss impressed and Joran will like that. Riss gains 2 Suitor points, Cynella gains 1 Suitor point, and Jocasta gains 2 suitor points.
