[Day 4 - LE] A Princely Waltz (Closed)

[Riss]

"Your aura is chaotic, you are a child floating through many doors. Where will your journey end, Riss of House Lanar?" a woman said coldly.

"Do you have value, or are you worthless?"

Riss was momentarily taken aback, because which normal person wouldn't be. Still, this was her best bit- always managing socially, "While yours is intense," she offers with a warm smile, a brief laugh to offset that coldness, perhaps only a tad. "Which is interesting, intense is interesting. Though hopefully those doors lead me to somewhere nice and cozy at the end, mm? Maybe even good," she suggests, hand resting down on her hip. "As for my value though, more and more by the day," she says with an easy smile that hides the inner unease in her answer.

"Charmed," she said said offering her hand to Delmi, "You seek to join this family, or seek something more immediate?"

In her search, Cynella hadn't expected to meet someone entirely new. "Oh! I should've considered more how wide House Panteer spanned. A pleasure to meet you, Baron Dushyant. You may call me Cynella, for that works all the same" she said, replicating Captain Alderaan's bow. "I've been likened by a rose more often back on Kuat but pearl pleases me too."

She pursed her lips, lingering on the last bit he'd said. "Wait, did you say ne'er do well? I've never met someone who'd include that in their introduction."

“Oh come now, why hide behind the rogue’s smile when I can be who I am at all times. I am a Baron but I am also a ne’er do well, I am at my best when I am doing so much bad. Exciting, intense… the fear of being caught?” he reached for her hand.

Janir approached and said, “Lt. Teraan, I don’t think we have had the pleasure of speaking. Janir Panteer, commander of the Delaya detachment on loan to the ADF. You were captivating on the dance floor.”

"Commander Panteer," she gives an appropriate salute, though it looked a bit odd given her attire.

"Thank you for your very generous compliment. I can assure you that Prince Joran was responsible for any captivation during our dance. I even managed to step on his foot, but he handled it with great aplomb."

“Oh come now, why hide behind the rogue’s smile when I can be who I am at all times. I am a Baron but I am also a ne’er do well, I am at my best when I am doing so much bad. Exciting, intense… the fear of being caught?” he reached for her hand.

"But a noble's duty is to do good, to be the shining beacon for all to follow. For example, I am here on behalf of my House's interests. I owe all of who I am to them." Nonetheless, she offered her hand willingly.

"Y-yes?" she replies, mildly awkwardly. Shying a little bit from the woman staring directly into her eyes, like it was an invasion. A soft chuckle, "I'm.. working on it," she says, her tone getting more even and sincere. "Doing the best I can, to be better.. at least," she doesn't so much as chuckle as make a sound behind her lips which sounded similar enough, but this brings some more rise to her voice and a pep into it again. "I have to ask, does anyone ever say no to questions like that? Either you are- and you're gonna answer right, or you're not.. and you're probably deluded," she offers with a soft laugh again.

"Charmed," she said said offering her hand to Delmi, "You seek to join this family, or seek something more immediate?"

“I’ve always been something of a multitasker.” She replied with a smile.


“I’ve never been such a social butterfly personally, but when I heard you might be in attendance I was sure to return my RSVP in the affirmative. Your exploits are epic. A truly impressive breath of range and technique.”

She paused, “It’s truly a shame more people don’t know of them. That thing with the Thrantas… quite… amazing.”

"Commander Panteer," she gives an appropriate salute, though it looked a bit odd given her attire.

“My royal cousin is such a good man, it is impressive. What of yourself, have you enjoyed your time here? Are you a better woman than that brute, Yulastranza Ulgo?” he responded.

“I’ve always been something of a multitasker.” She replied with a smile.

"N-neither of those sound all that great," she chuckles, and the awkwardness of it definitely infiltrates her tone this time. "Those.. mean something?" she asks with a raise to her brow. A squint to her eye as she focuses in on the woman.

Married but not seemingly concerned. He whispered in her ear brushing his lips against her skin, “I hear he is head over heels for that Thul woman… the soldier.”

Dushyant returned to a more sociable distance and said “He forsakes the pearl for a sharp rock, how tragic.”

"N-neither of those sound all that great," she chuckles, and the awkwardness of it definitely infiltrates her tone this time. "Those.. mean something?" she asks with a raise to her brow. A squint to her eye as she focuses in on the woman.

"A victim of events... yet Death is merely change, yes great changes... unexpected Changes," she said closing her eyes.

Riss holds for a moment, processing. As she does process another brief laugh, less awkward and more relieved, "Scary sounding words for something that sounds.. neutral? Change happens," she gives a soft chuckle, and a brief shrug.

Hand on her hip tapping her four fingers along her side, "Considering I should have woken up dead tomorrow.. not the worst thing I've heard all week," she smiles, shaking her head. "Is this a 'change your diet or you'll suffer severe consequences' kinda thing or more of a 'brace yourself' kinda thing?"

“I’d be willing to talk a bit about such things more if you could show a small kindness to me and my friends…” She said with a smile as she nodded at someone across the hall who caught her eye.

She pauses a moment, thinking back to her conversation with Prince Gaul and placing something more than a benefit of the doubt in his opinion, given how most others might feel in his circumstance. "Third, I am me and she is she. I have my strengths and she hers. I honestly have not met the woman but in passing. Those whose opinions I trust have good things to say about her as an individual. And she has served with distinction for Alderaan and for the Republic."

"Well perhaps she has hidden merits I have yet to perceive if my cousin, Gaul, denied her, she must be found wanting in some capacity," he said confidently.

“I’d be willing to talk a bit about such things more if you could show a small kindness to me and my friends…” She said with a smile as she nodded at someone across the hall who caught her eye.

"A small kindness," she said pursing her lips. "If we are looking for an exchange, there is something you have that I would be willing to give a small kindness for."

“You are living it, these Changes will affect more than just you. You are at the nexus of things Riss, I pity you for you know not what shall befall you,” she said placing a hand on Riss’ cheek.

Riss was quiet one second, two, her hand going up to touch the cheek the woman had touched. Something about it helping the process, "How.. worryingly cryptic," she gives a single, nervous note of a laugh. Settling her hand back down she crosses them over her mid-section.

"You know, I'm almost starting to prefer when people were just like 'You've got five days to come up with the money.' It was.. simple, right? That had rules I could figure out.. a way to fix it. Does this have rules I can figure out? Any.. hints on this light?" she jokes, she laughs, she speaks with a slight nerved tinge. Something about the woman's approach made it hard to discount her entirely. Which made it all the more unnerving. The laughing, the joking, all meant to conceal this fact, to conceal the frayed nerve.

[Delmi Koor]

“I suppose we could view it as an exchange. A little birdie tells me you have access to some information that upsets the current peace we have on Alderaan. If there’s one thing you need to know about me, I’m nothing if not a peacemaker…”

She looked around the room as if admiring the fancy setting that these nobles seem to enjoy so much. Then her eyes shifted back to Hinock, “You must know that I will do anything for peace.”
