Cynella smirked. "Yes, I think I've learned something here. Perhaps I will be more forceful with my parents regarding their expectations with me. That being said, I'm not going to just run off from my marital plans," she concluded, laughing the thought away.

"Well other than the palace, what sort of adventures do you speak of? I've heard rumors of a killik infestation, though I'm not an expert on them by any means. And there's also the troubling news regarding that riot yesterday, though that's less of an adventure and more... just concerning."

“Killiks are a constant problem, kill thousands and thousands more take their place. They never seem to understand that they should go elsewhere. As for the common folk, they always find a reason to be unhappy, I hardly call it a riot. More drunken fools,” he said dismissively.

“If you seek adventure ask the Queen if you can join one of her hunts, she does love such diversions. I prefer to focus my designs on more comely prey,” he said as they reached the top of the tower and could see the whole valley.

“And what happens before your wedding is no one’s business but yours,” he added brushing her hair back.

"Was it not so bad as to postpone some of today's planned events?" Cynella asked. "That is what I heard, at least."

She shook her head. "I've never been one for hunts, both of the Queen's and the type you speak of." Still, she wasn't recoiling away from the touch. Instead, she was more passive, looking out to the valley. "You remind me of my last boyfriend, in a way. He liked the challenge and I... wish I'd grown fonder of him."

"Ah but I wanted the inside scoop, which is why I asked you." Cynella took his hands, unwaveringly looking into his eyes. "Yes, I don't think we're going to fight, no. But I think there's something amiss. I know you'd do well with Riss, well, Lady Lanar. Your penchant for roguish delights, charming looks, that sort of thing. But were I not to return to my chambers alone tonight, I wouldn't be happy."

The baron was trying to parse the meaning of her words and said, “Well, if you must know I think we are more concerned with House Thul and their now revealed plans to betray the Queen. I doubt they will recover from such, sad, they were livening things up,” he responded.

“Now why don’t we return to your chambers to reveal more secrets.”

Cynella maintained her passive expression until the news of betrayal. Her eyes widened and she tilted her head. "What? You're not serious. Why would they do such a thing? And if you already know, then why was a Thul associate allowed so close to the royal family tonight?"

"It's not official and appearances matter," he responded pulling her close. "Works in your favor, one less suitor to be concerned with."

Cynella did her best to retract, turn her cheek, or otherwise show disinterest without outright shoving the man. "I'll take that as a no, then," she said in regards to her question. "I do really think that Lady Lanar would be more your type."

Should I really be trying to shove him onto her?

"She is by no means trash," Cynella said, smoothing out her clothes. "I'm sure she'll prove that to you herself. Goodnight, Baron Panteer. I for one learned much from this interaction."

She looked back out towards the valley for awhile longer. Then, remembering that her escort had since left, she made her way back to her chambers.
