Alderaan - Love and Intrigue

Arsele decided to get up early and head out to the city; If she was going to try to find Tuvi Kirn's organization and stop the incident from occurring, first she'd need information. Locations, times, names... So it was she went out to find some rumors and information. She'd gotten what she could from her Thul informant, but that was just a start for what she would need.

Arsele tried to not be to forward about things, but it was difficult since she was trying to go places she'd not be recognized. Still, the area around the warehouse district wasn't exactly a spot she frequented in the city, and she was having a surprising amount of luck. Maybe it was because she'd dressed down, maybe it was her charming demeanor and good looks, or maybe it was because she knew a few good names to drop.

She gets directed to a gathering of young folks listening to a man speak about the purity of Alderaan culture and that Duke Ulgo was the future.

Arsele listened casually; She'd not been back on Alderaan too long... maybe this was a thing now? The purity part, not the Ulgo part that was. She looked around as the speaker went on, seeing if there was anyone else who stood out without her needing to ask pertinent questions.

She finds a man talking to the group about those subjects and fielding questions and basically he seems to be the one guiding the conversation.

He certainly DOES stand out a bit. And he's handling the crowd well enough... she gets the impression this one knows something about her mission, but getting it out will be more than difficult.

But she decides to give it at least a try, "Pretty passionate speech there... Duke Ulgo, huh? Pretty big hero, both literally and figuratively."

"Passion comes easy when you are speaking the truth," he said.

"What truth would that be?"

She'd heard the speech, but it had been... fluff. Not that she didn't understand fluff; A stirring speech relied on the emotions of the crowd, not cold hard facts. But maybe this could be broken down more when they were one on one like this.

"That Alderaan must rise up and guide the Republic back to greatness, even if we must secede to do so," he said.

"Independent? Makes sense. Though that sounds difficult with both the Empire and Republic looking to snap every little bit they can in their little dance. Even the Hutts have had a hard time maintaining their status as independent in the conflicts... and they have a lot more influence and power than us."

She put in in first person there to indicate she was Alderaanian as well, if that mattered here, which it seemed like it did to them.

"Then you see, that we are the heart and soul of the Republic, but the Senate have betrayed us and our ideals," the man replied.

"Huh... guess I'd never thought about it that way. Still, doesn't make the situation any easier. Would take more than a genius to make a plan that wouldn't end in disaster. And I'm kind of attached to Alderaan, you know? Wouldn't want an armada parked above and the planet blown up or anything. With or without me on it."

"Without sacrifice we can never realize a truly free Republic led by Alderaan and King Ulgo to glory," he said honestly.


Another man, more tough and rugged added, "If the Queen won't listen we make her listen."

A small frown, "Alderaan can't lead anyone to anything if it's blasted to rubble..."

She looked to the other person who had spoken up, "Still, it sounds as if you have a plan, so perhaps I shouldn't be so pessimistic; Call me a natural skeptic though, thanks to having to deal with the bureaucracy around here for so long."

Arsele crossed her arms; It was true she was a skeptic. And even knowing what little she did about the plan, she doubted this had been properly thought out.

"Peaceful protest won't work, the Crown needs to hurt to understand," he said. The other man frowned.

Arsele frowned thoughtfully, "Okay... well, how does one direct that so the message gets across as intended? Having lived in Hutt space for a while, I know the power of fear and pain, so I know it can work. The trick is just shaping it so that the coercion shapes the discourse, as well as the resulting reactions. Unless you just want a message and not immediate effect."

"Who are you?" he said turning to her.

Arsele decided to use one of the house servants identities. Something she'd prepared for, "Jaqueline Kees."

A small curtsy.

"I do housework for one of the minor noble houses, but have the festivities at least partially off since all the big wigs are out and about."

"Fancy, well you should understand that this isn't about us, what we do we do because Alderaan needs to wake up to the truth," he said.
