Early Morning Messenger [Day 8, EM]

Soon as she landed commlink was near to hand as she cleaned herself up again in the mirror. Snatching it off the surface beside the sink she rushes out the door, throwing on her ratty jacket in the process. Sending away a simple message to Kat: "Later," as they'd agreed to originally meet when she landed but this was more important. It was far more important. Rushing to the nearest transport she tossed a few extra credits to get them to disobey the law a little and get there as quickly as they could. Half-jogging up to the palace she was a jarring blur of activity so early in the morning just before the sun began to rise. Finding her way through she'd eventually get herself directed to Joran, wherever he was, probably still asleep if not half-asleep.

Joran was up getting his morning workout started in one of the the palace courtyards. He seemed surprised when Riss was brought to him and said, "Riss, it's early for... well everything."

Riss just looks to him for a moment, a thousand different ways this played over in her head. Eyes showing the wear from exhaustion set in. Normally she probably wouldn't look so worse for wear but considering the events just some hours ago it'd taken the tole on her. She'd freshened up, sure, but there were just some signs you didn't manage to hide unless you remembered to turn on your cascader, she hadn't.
"Y-yea, guess it is. Time.. feels a little strange right now-" she shakes her head, closing and immediately opening her eyes she steps forward. Putting her hand on his arm gently like she's done with hundreds of people, "This is important," she reaches down into her shirt, digging out the chit and holding it up with her other hand, "this time.. it's real, I know it's real, but even if I didn't better to be cautious. I don't know who else might be willing to trust me on this, so please- it's important, a-again," she says, those tired eyes looking to his.

"What's real?" he said looking at the chit, "Oh... yeah, I don't blame you. Wait you have more information?"

Nodding, "Yea," she swallows, "can you take me somewhere I can show you what's on here? It's.. everything. Everything we need to prepare for. I can.. we can fix things, I think," she says, a brief smile as that thought settles with her a bit.
"Can you get word to your mother, siblings? Cancel any flights any of you've got planned for today."

"I am not sure I can get mother to do anything," he said honestly. "Follow me." They return to his private apartment and he said, "Okay start from the beginning."

Nodding she follows along to his private chamber. Even in the state she's in she can't help but peruse around as she immediately enters. Something which is engrained in her near completely. Still, being in private she almost manages to settle down a little. Eyes showing that wear but she focuses enough to turn the cascader on and remove the clear indicator of both stress and exhaustion.
Almost without invitation she'd find the bed, or something else soft to sit on as she settles with the question, "Kriff.. the beginning," she chuckles mirthlessly.
"What I gave you first, through Gaul, it was half true and half false. Information that Bryson gave me to manipulate the houses against one another sooner rather than later, he believed it would help save Alderaan. I.. knew he was a good man, that he meant well. So, I planned to convince him that the.. I guess it was the Cunning Man, whoever he really is, but Bryson was manipulated into believing his course was the right one. That he was doing the right thing but.." she holds up the chit. "He made this, encoded it with a passcode for me, and.. and set it up I guess so that it would be sent to me on his death. It's- everything that they're planning," she says, offering the chit over.
"House Ulgo and Rist are going to attack, take.. all these spots," she nods toward the chit, "it shows them on there. Anyway.. they seem like they're going to attack, hold those positions, and then Ulgo is going to march on the palace. While this is all happening.. you and your family are supposed to be in a shuttle crash, killing everyone on board. Given their usual flair for it.. that's probably Rist's second half of the plan," she says, her voice softer, a bit unsure of herself.
"They're.. being mislead by someone who wants to destabilize Alderaan. That's what Kat told me. Some group that wants us fighting ourselves so we're weaker.." she looks up, focuses on him and meets his eyes if possible, "We need to try and make sure as few Alderaanians die today as possible.. tomorrow, whenever it's going to happen. Things.. kriff things look like they're gonna happen real soon so.." she chuckles, without much mirth and holds out her hands, "I'm here."

"Kriff," he said and then looked at the data with Riss and repeated, "Kriff. I can get this to mother but she isn't going to be easy to convince the last... bit of helpful info really burned her."

As Joran got it booted and started sifting through the data, Riss would scoot over or get up and lean onto his shoulder, thoughtlessly as usual. As they went through it she'd point out the occasional thing she'd mentioned, but most importantly, "Y-yea, false information tends to do that," she chuckles, shaking her head at the thought. Furrowing her brow she glances down a moment, "Kinda surprised that you're trusting me so readily again though. I- I mean I appreciate it, a lot. It's nice to get that trust but.. definitely wasn't expecting it after I gave you the last chit that turned out to be kriffed, ya know?"

"I really shouldn't be, but I want to believe you want to help, Riss," he responded.

"I do," she says, the words coming out quicker than usual. "I do, I really do. It's.. everything, to me, right now, especially now," she says, slowly the more words she says she calms a little. Taking the breath, "Okay. So, your mom. I don't think she'd be the type to at least ignore the threat, right? But.. maybe.. maybe there's something we could do even without her? Someone we could convince to get ready, or be prepared, just- you know, go over your moms head a little."
"Any ideas?" she asks, glancing from him toward the information displayed with all the targets.

"Then you are doing good, I will bring this to my brothers, they will know what to do, or at least try to do something," he said.
"But let's not make this a habit, I will be disappointed if you come to me a third time."

"Kriff- I would really rather like the idea of not having to come to you a third time for something like this," there's a hint of the Alderaanie in the tone of her word-choice. Subtle, but frayed as she is it slips out rather unconsciously. Without further waiting or warning, if he'd allow, she wraps him in a hug and admits freely, "Just- stay safe, alright? Really.. can't deal with the idea of someone else I know dying today. Think it'd.." she shakes her head. "Especially you or your family. Would feel like- feel like he died for nothing, so please be safe. Safe as you can, okay?" she says, there's a pleading to her tone as her voice wavers and nearly cracks a bit but she keeps it together.

"I will do my best Riss, I will do my best," he said to her and patted her shoulder.

"I'll be expecting you to not disappoint me then," she says, the crack of a laugh as she gives him one good squeeze before letting go and scooting away a bit. Taking herself in, collecting the frayed thoughts, a nod, "Okay.. kriff, there's more I gotta try to do. Thanks.. Jo," she rises, takes a step away. "I'm.. gonna go see who else I can get, mm? Maybe.. maybe convince someone to back down, to- to be better."
"Fewer Alderaanians that die today the better, mm?" she says, there's a smile but the emotion behind it is too mixed with different emotions to pin down. Another step toward the door, "Got some friends at least.. who could do with a bit of warning themselves. Good folk.. hero types," she says, another mixed chuckle. "One that likes your brother actually- trust her with my life. Kat?" she shakes her head, doesn't quite matter right now.
"Anyway- I'm gonna try. Thank you, again, for trusting me," she'd finish, wait for his reply, and if not stopped would soon depart of her own accord.

"I believe you will do some good, Riss, you are doing good," he said honestly.

There was something familiar in those words. It brought a tear to her eye, then two. Wiping them away she nods, "Thank you," the words are as earnest as any she'd ever said, and then she quickly left through the door.
/scene? Thanks
