The shuttle ride was excruciatingly long. Just over a week from Coruscant! All because she chose to ride as a civilian. For all the harm and aggravation it brought - her life up until four years ago never afforded lengthy trips. Often times she travelled on a military bird. Other times she flew with smugglers. None of which travelled hyperspace lanes, preferring instead more direct routes.
First she had to check in with her handler upon arrival.
Jedi don't "retire" anymore. They either change sides, disappear, die on the battlefield, or... for lack of a better word... take time off. At the very least; every time she asks to leave, the council denies her request. Encouraging her to go to counseling, or take time meditating and coming to terms with her loss.
Kriffing out of touch geezers.
Then about a month or so ago she ran into a couple of old acquaintances: Alysele & Nialle Organa. At first it was all small talk, then came the heavy stuff. A nice meal and a few drinks later they'd extended her an invitation: come to Alderaan and train their guard, the council won't object to a vocation change.
And they might not have, had she cared enough to tell them. She might be 'stubborn as a bantha in rut' - but she could be sure that this was her decision, not theirs. And that was enough for now.
The second item on her agenda was to scope out her new home.
