Busy Days, Busy Life [Day 3, LE, Rimma]

[Riss]

They were in her room, options of sitting being a chair by the unused desk with way too much clutter and a cleared space on Riss' bed. Riss, meanwhile, was bent over ninety degrees as she digs deeply through her closet within the captains quarters. Though she didn't design this particular portion of the ship herself she was rather thankful the previous owner was almost as concerned with his vanity as he was his bottom line. Little benefits from a past association long buried.

As they chat, a shirt comes flying out of the closet and lands into a small balled lump on the floor.

Having found a cleared spot on the bed, Kat sat with her legs crossed as she watched Riss at 'work', elbows resting against her knees.

"... So when was the last time you washed these?" she remarked, seeing some of the discarded clothing on the floor. Had the ship acquired a laundry machine since the last time?

[Riss]

Leaning out she looks over a shoulder, raising a brow in question. Looking between the few that were closest to Kat, "Uh.. which one? That light green one, dirty. Blue one.. pink one.." she focuses a little, "Not that one though, with the fancy collar on it- that one's pretty new. It's pretty but.." she shrugs, "haven't really found an occasion for it. What do you think computer guys like?" she asks, looking back into her closet.

"Computer guys?" Riss could practically hear Kat was raising an eyebrow in response to that.

She eyed the clothes with some scepticism. "Wouldn't they like something that looked smart? You know, spectacles, button-up shirts and professional attire? Is this a date?"

[Riss]

"Huh?" she pauses in the closet, it's apparent she's looking at a shirt given the distraction in her tone. Realizing she was focused on something other than the conversation after a few seconds she snaps back into it. "Oh, uh.. no. Just curious, ya know? Never slept with a computer guy before.. but then maybe.." her voice drifts as she conceals the almost spoken aloud thought. Digging through a few more shirts in the meantime.

"I don't think they tend to like to look like that.." she pauses, looks back over her shoulder to Kat. "Do they? No one likes to dress like that, right? Ya know.." she brings a hand up to her face and tries to make half a pair of glasses, "Kinda.. dorky," and then there's a flash of a realization before her brow furrows and she starts digging again.

"I have a nice stomach right?" she half-shouting as she buries herself in the closet. "Like, one of my good features?"

"Riss is being just curious?" scepticism crept into her tone. While she knew that Riss was someone who easily followed such impulses, she wasn't completely buying it.

Kat shrugged as Riss looked at her. "Jerri Organa dressed like that. With the spectacles to boot." That made her chuckle a little bit, as he certainly seemed like a dork.

Uncrossing her legs, she used her now free leg to pick up one of the discarded clothes. She remembered that particular green top, since Riss had worn it on Coruscant... "Hm? Oh. Yes, you do have a nice stomach. It looks better now than it did a couple of years ago when you really had let yourself get hooked on those bantha burgers."

[Riss]

"Look," she says, another dirty shirt comes flying out of the closet. One she wore to a party the both of them attended years back and Riss showed almost every shade of her true colors. It was a night to be remembered, if Kat could be sure Riss even remember it at all. Alcohol was not the only vice of the night, and it had more than just one other friend to keep it company. "It's not my fault, okay? If they didn't want me eating so many they wouldn't make them taste that kriffing good," she says, much added emphasis on that declaration.

Finally finding something passable she nearly whips it out, a caged crop-top of a light red color. Something enough to show off her stomach and other assets quite favorably, holding it out just over herself she looks to Kat for her opinion, indicated by the raised brow.

Kat laughed warmly at the response, clearly amused. "I tease, Riss. It's cute to have a bit extra to hold onto." She herself had pretty much always been pretty fit. Maybe not the slender willowy beauty that was popular in the glossy magazines, but she was fit and in good shape, with some curves of her own.

She gave the garment a look with both eyebrows raised to counter Riss' one eyebrow. "Are you going clubbing?" Not that she was a fashion expert, but it seemed very party-party.

[Riss]

"Now you're putting images in my head you know," she says, holding it out more so she can take a look at it instead. Thinking for a moment before she seems to confirm her choice by walking over toward Kat and laying it down beside her. Back around, "Pants. Uh.. something like that," she says, as she buries herself half inside the closet once more in her search.

"I mean, basic principles? Clubbing clothes are supposed to get you looked at, and well-" she shrugs.

As Riss turned her attention away, Kat held up the rather revealing top in front of her to examine it. She could easily imagine Riss wearing it... so she tried to imagine herself wearing it.

And that just seemed wrong. Her mid-riff would be showing, and the girls would be open on display... no. Just no.

"Right. So you want to be looked at. Don't think you're laying it on too thick, hm?"

[Riss]

"When has laying it on thick every gone poorly for me-" there's a heavy hesitation in the air as Riss snaps up and turns around. Holding up one finger as she points at Kat but a little more up, "Don't answer that!" she holds it for a moment, smiles, and dives back into her closet.

"But I mean, when it's kinda a sure thing it's only better to lay it on thick right? Guys tend to like that.. I think. Dryden did, though.. probably not a good comparison."

Kat had been raising a hand to answer Riss before she turned around, and she did not answer that, and lowered her hand. The top was placed back on the bed.

"Jeans could probably be nice, then, I think. Jeans go with most things." She said thoughtfully. "Ugh. Dryden. What did you see in that?"

[Riss]

"He was fun, exciting, and kept life running at a hundred almost all the time. It was.." she bit her lip to stop herself a moment. Grasping a pair of pants she turns with it and adds it atop the top with almost none of her usual fanfare. Pivoting back around an arm extends and she grabs a large sweatshirt, tossing that over the whole lot of things before she started rifling through an underwear drawer for a matching pair. She was, notably, in her fancy drawer.

"He pushed buttons that no one else did, and.. that's all I thought I needed at the time," she says, with less gusto than her usual voice. Guilt? Perhaps, the emotion in there was a mix of something that certainly fit within that realm. "His stupid ships mine now, vain bastard that he was," there's anger there, but not venom, and some of that guilt still.

"Hmmm..." Kat flopped onto her back, looking up at her ceiling. "... Not that I really approve of it, but some scumbags just deserve what's coming to them. I always felt he was a sleemo."

Then again, Kat had higher standards. Or so she told herself. Even if Riss was pretty good at pushing her buttons too. "At least the ship is nicer now. I remember what it looked like in the beginning when you first had it." She could hear Riss rummaging around in the drawers as she kept her gaze upwards. Hadn't that stain been there back during Coruscant...?

"So... this guy. Met him at the Festival then? Getting caught up in the mood of it all?"

[Riss]

"I.. no, actually," she walks over back toward Kat. Riss' hand coming up underneath Kat's chin to sorta hold it in place for a moment while she was still looking up, "Eyes up," she says, with a light laugh, "I mean- I don't mind, but you've been a little averse to all this of late," she chuckles again and then walks away. Perhaps in the peripheral Kat could see the shirt coming off and getting tossed aside.

"Anyway, maybe?" she says, taking a second to checking over herself a moment. Head tucked through, balled up, and tossed aside she continues, "Didn't meet him at the festival. Actually met him cause Bo thought he had a way to solve our problems and.. well, stealing from this guy turned out to be his idea to-" she realizes, hesitates, "so he turned out to be really.. decent instead. Actually offered a way to help me that can can both do some good and clear the mark from our heads. Seemed to want to do a good thing he's.. a good guy," she says, there's a warmth to her voice as she recalls the events. A slight blush under the tone of her cheeks as she turns around if Kat looked down enough to see it. Having turned halfway back toward Kat as she works off her pants.

Finding her chin tilted slightly by Riss' hand, Kat looked at her, partly confused and partly curious.

"Not averse," she groaned, sitting back up. "Just... it's complicated. After Coruscant, and the Treaty of Coruscant... I feel lost. I'm still proud to be a Jedi Knight, and I'm happy with all the good I have done for people as a Jedi Knight. But I'm not the happiest these days. With the Republic, and the Order."

Kat sighed, crossing her legs again as one elbow rested on her knee. It gave support to her arm as she let her chin rest in the palm of her hand. "Sorry. You were talking about this guy. A decent one you say? Sure he's not playing you in return? Not disparaging your brother, but... he's not involved in this Cunning Man business, is he?"

[Riss]

Pants off in the time, Riss stops to look at Kat for a moment. A thought forming in the furrow of her brow but she slips right back into it, walking over toward Kat as she fetches the new set of underwear, the fancy ones. Glancing down at her, "Well, my brothers plan was to steal from him. His plan was to get me or my brother there.." she chuckles softly, shaking her head, "and.. I dunno, my plans to get out of this with my head on my shoulders. No Cunning man involved," she says, with an intentional look back to Kat.

"My idiot brother isn't very good at all this, love him to death, but no this is my plan not his so we're good. I thought he might be playing me but.. I dunno, I think he does actually care. You know.." she gives a flippant wave of her hand, "generally, about people. Not like me in particular I figure," she chuckles softly and approaches a nearby mirror to check herself out in.

"No Cunning Man? That's good... I don't know exactly who or what they are, but you hear stories in some places. Desperate people in desperate times turning to some shadowy folks representing the Cunning Man - then later when they can't pay up or return the favor, they just disappear. Not unique as such, you hear gangs do this all the time, but... this one feels new." Still, she was overall relieved that Riss and Bo was steering clear of that.

Well, at least Riss seemed to be.

"So a good guy then, huh? And he's helping you out of his own volition, so no stealing from this nice man then?"

[Riss]

"Nope, not even a little," she says, turning back to Kat she re-approaches and grabs the pants she'd set aside first. Walking back to the mirror she double checks the choice against herself, "I.. like to try and trust you where I feel I can but.. honest? Cunning Man option was starting to sound a whole lot better than some wild card with the Prince or.. ya know, dying in two days from now? Yea, two days," she says as she starts putting on her pants.

As she does so she just so happens to very casually mention, as if everything was already determined down to the letter, "I am gonna sleep with him though."

There was an eyeroll from Kat following that statement. "Of course you are." She hadn't really expected differently. Mostly because everything until now had been leading up to it quite obviously, with the careful selection of clothing and not to mention the nice underwear.

"Doesn't sound to me like you need to though, so I'm guessing this is because of what you said. You actually like him."
