[Day 8 - LA] Beautiful Music

[Dapper Dog]

The Spaceport is busy with many folks coming and going due to the festival. It’s a nice afternoon and a street performer is setting up to play some jizz, while other folks grab a bite to eat with some of the vendors. It was a relaxing afternoon.

Garth wiped his hands of the grease and oil as he exited the Midnight Transport Office repair shop. He'd just finished installing his new hyperdrive and now he needed a beer.

He stood near the musician, eager to relax with a cold drink and some hopefully good music.

[Durasay Mixo]

Durasay was nearby. After all, the Turtle was parked here, and more or less his residence while on system. He walked down the vendor halls, examining curiously, but not without much comment.

Tethys was enjoying an iced kaff and some music at an outdoor table belonging to the spaceport cafe she'd helped raid yesterday, feeling a bit apologetic to the proprietors for disturbing the peace of their establishment.

Of course, it wasn't her fault there'd been shots fired. Completely the opposite, really, but still.

She waved casually at Garth as she spotted him across the crowded lane.

Durasay was nearby. After all, the Turtle was parked here, and more or less his residence while on system. He walked down the vendor halls, examining curiously, but not without much comment.

"What a familiar face I see.,"

Aly was in the crowd, in ber role as one Lady Organa. "Senator, I hear?"

[Dapper Dog]

Garth waved back at Tethys, lifting his beer in salute to his shipmate and wandered over to her table.

"Not long left 'til the festival's over. Thought about where you're headed after?"

Spotting the senator from yesterday, he dipped his head in acknowledgment, but didn't interrupt his conversation with the pretty blonde.

Durasay was nearby. After all, the Turtle was parked here, and more or less his residence while on system. He walked down the vendor halls, examining curiously, but not without much comment.

"What a familiar face I see.,"

Aly was in the crowd, in ber role as one Lady Organa. "Senator, I hear?"

"Lady Cortess. Or I should Organa, now. Former Senator, though I understand I'll always be addressed as such." He smiled as she approached, the Cascader making his features much softer and more warm than normal.

"How have you been, since the Smuggler's Moon."

[Tethys Carrack]

Garth waved back at Tethys, lifting his beer in salute to his shipmate and wandered over to her table.

"Not long left 'til the festival's over. Thought about where you're headed after?"

Spotting the senator from yesterday, he dipped his head in acknowledgment, but didn't interrupt his conversation with the pretty blonde.

"Garth." She smiles and returns the salute with her iced kaf, though it's not exactly as toast-like with a non-alcoholic beverage. "I don't know yet. Wherever the current takes me." She sips her kaf and then adds, "Maybe back to Dantooine for a time, if the Council doesn't point me somewhere else."

"Well ah think ah got th' new hyperdrive installed right, gettin' a proper mechanic to check it over a little later jus' t' be sure though. Should be a quicker trip if y' need a lift."

As the jizz musician starts to play Garth smiles and reminisces. " 'Member that jizz club back on Bankor? Black Garden?"

[Alysele Organa]

"Lady Cortess. Or I should Organa, now. Former Senator, though I understand I'll always be addressed as such." He smiled as she approached, the Cascader making his features much softer and more warm than normal.

"How have you been, since the Smuggler's Moon."

"Aye, Organa." She smiled, her own cascader brightening her features. "Ah, Former? It seems I am behind on the news." She raised a hand, flashing a ring. "I have a war and a wedding behind me, will tell you which was more harrowing after another year of space from them." Her smile was sad at the thought of war, but she tried to be upbeat.

"What about you? How are you enjoying Alderaan?"

[Dapper Dog]

The communicators make a strange buzzing sound and then alert comes on over the internal comm system, “This is not a Test, the Alderaan Emergency Broadcast network is in effect, repeat this is not a test. Please report to the nearest security checkpoint for your safety, repeat this is not a test.”

The message continues to repeat as people look around frantically and start trying to make their way to the checkpoint.

Garth looks around a little confused by the announcement. "Nearest security check? Do you have any idea?" He asked Tethys out loud to as he watches where everyone was heading and followed the crowd until he found someone who looked in charge.

"What is going on, are th' people in danger?"

"The Assembly on Pantora has it set that senators only serve one term. Keeps fresh blood moving into the senate." He chuckled, before preparing to ask about the war.

Just as Durasay was about to ask, the alarm went off over the comms. As people rushed, the Pantoran focused, sensing the fear through the area, but using it to peer deeper into the mysteries.

Garth looks around a little confused by the announcement. "Nearest security check? Do you have any idea?" He asked Tethys out loud to as he watches where everyone was heading and followed the crowd until he found someone who looked in charge.

A squad of Ulgo soldiers securing a checkpoint and their squad leader said, “Sir, get to the shelter for your safety.”

[Garth Wayne Ulgo]

Garth shakes his head. "Ah won't hide in a shelter when there's work t' be..." He starts to answer before he notices the military kit the soldiers are wearing and gets a little suspicious.

"Ah thought th' Panteer had security detail fer th' festival?"

[Dapper Dog]

"This is a military matter now, civilian, please report to the shelter," they repeated forcefully.

[Garth Wayne Ulgo]

Garth turned to look at the people running around and pressed on the comlink pinned to his jacket. He tried to contact Miyi to warn her, because if things were going the way it seemed, the way rumors had been hinting, then she and her wjhole family might be at risk.

All he got was the crackle of static, the signal was jammed, and he felt the fear rising within him, a fear that was turning to anger.

Aly opened her eyes, snapping to attention. "Senator Mixo, Durasay, my friend..it seems all you bring is bad luck." She flashed him a friendly smile, before she started waving and raising her voice.

"Jedi Knight Organa here. Stand in an orderly fashion people, and follow this way, to the shelters! We all know the drill, don't worry, hold the hands of your loved ones and follow my directions. All will be fine!"

She saw the soldiers coming in and frowned. "You there! What is the meaning of this?"

[Dapper Dog]

"Master Jedi, House Thul has betrayed us, they are laying siege to the Panteer palace!" the officer replied. "We are securing the port for the safety of the people and the Crown!"
