So, I've Got Some Crazy Bad Wild News [Day 8, LM]

[Riss]

They'd had to wait because both were called away to the Summit. It was a shame, perhaps, that she couldn't get to them before then but sometimes life just worked out that way. That meant that she was standing about on her ship pacing back and forth waiting for Omandri and Kat to arrive. Together.. together, it was really strange to have them together now that she had a brief moment to consider it. They'd never really met, had they? Life worked weird sometimes, but now they all would share a common thread. Knowledge of the crazy day everyone was about to have together.

Maybe she could stem the tide.. call to their better senses. It was a long shot, and even if it would fail, she had to try.

When Kat and Omandri would arrive they would find the ramp down, door open, and a clear line of cleaned portion of the ship directing them over into the main communications terminal. A port set up so each could take turns plugging in their commlinks and connecting through them to the intended receivers.

[Katarzyna Ulgo]

OOC: I'm fine with Omandri and Kat taking a ride together after the meeting to get here.

It wasn't even noon yet and today was already hectic.

Still, Kat was one of those people who could take a deep breath and just appear calm. Appearing Calm was one of the Jedi lessons she had learned well. Keeping Calm too, but that was an advanced lesson.

Stepping aboard the ship and seeing the setup, she couldn't help but to feel... nervous. "Hey," she said, softly.

[Omandri Rist]

Omandri arrived right after the summit ended so no time to change out of his much higher class clothing than Riss was used to seeing him in. Expensive black suit with green shimmersilk tie and gold accessories.

He entered the ship his face full of concern "Hey Riss." He said in a similar tone to Kat he lacked the control of his emotional expression so concern and nerves showed through.

[Riss]

Riss had one of her nails stuck between her teeth when she heard the first "Hey," glancing up from her thoughts. Eyes widening a moment as realization sets in she just rushes over toward the both of them. Each, in turn, gets a hug and a kiss on the cheek. As she leans back from Omandri, being second, she puts a hand on either of their arms and looks between them, "T-Thanks for coming," she says, rushing through the words a little. Fraying somewhat at the edges.

"Kriff- I, where do I even start?" she glances down, and then over toward the couch. "Come, sit, sit.. you're both gonna need to sit for this," she says, and then would if allowed take them both by their respective hands and lead them over to the couch.

[Omandri Rist]

Omandri received and returned the greeting and followed her as she lead him to a seat "Whats going on Riss?" He asks with concern still evident, he had never seen her quite so.....scattered.

[Riss]

"I- I got something from Bryson last night. Information," she says, as they sit she takes whichever hands are offered her but she does look for both. Glancing down a moment she steels herself, shakes out the thought, "Just in case he was wrong.. it's both of you," she looks to them, closes her eyes with a wince and shakes her head. "Both of your houses, Rist and Ulgo. They're.. working together, today maybe? Soon.. very soon, they're going to attack the Panteers."

"I.. want to talk to them, and I definitely don't have an in, a way to do it but you both.. you both do. If maybe we can talk to them, maybe we can stop this before it goes any furhter. I've- I've already warned Joran. Now.. for Bryson, and- just for Alderaan. I want- I want to hope that they'll see reason, that they'll back down," she says, but there's little hope there in the moment. Eyes a bit distant as she speaks of it all.

[Katarzyna Ulgo]

Kat sat down at Riss' urging. The news were sadly not surprising, but she and Brannis... they'd be hoping it didn't come to this.

"I see..." she grit her teeth for a moment. Then looked at Omandri. "Today is proving more and more challenging. I believe her... I trust her." She hadn't trusted Riss the last time, but this time... this time she would.

"Would explain why Ulgo territories are closed off now. A 'live fire exercise' supposedly."

[Omandri Rist]

"Kriff." Was all Omandri could muster for a second. He wasn't terribly surprised either he had just expected it to be Thul that his sister had partnered with. For a brief moment he wondered if she'd been genuine with him for one second since he'd been home.

A sadness washed over his face as he held Riss' hand but it was quickly replaced with determination "My sister said she was planning something but she'd told me it was with house Thul. She said she wouldn't go through with it if I could prove Thul was an Imperial puppet. Looks like she just lied to me. again."

[Riss]

With Kat's words, they only earn a tired smile as she nods. Focusing then on Omandri first, "We.. can always ask?" she says, glancing from Omandri to the set up display ready to receive a link from a holo-communicator.

"I.. owe it to Bryson to at least try and get your family away from this whole mess. If.. if I can," she says.

[Omandri Rist]

"Riss....we can try but I've basically been trying to talk my sister down since I got here. First with the supposed Thul business, then with the jedi, she doesn't listen to me." He shook his head annoyance, frustration, anger but also sadness was there. He was still reeling from the death of Bryson who was a friend and now his sister was planning insurrection.

He took a breath centering and calming himself "but I'm not known for giving up just because something is hard. Let's give it a go." He said moving into action going to make the call to his sister.

[Katarzyna Ulgo]

"I understand your feelings, Omandri," Kat said, using his personal name now considering the situation. "We must do what we can. House Ulgo is... currently not allowing anyone in. Claiming a live fire exercise. If we can try talking to Giandra and Bouris, hopefully we can do something."

[Riss]

"One kriffed up way to start getting to know my.. peers?" she suggests with an uncertainty to her, a half chuckle. They wouldn't exactly be peers, of course, but pretty close for a brief while when all was said and done, if folk lived to see the day. Which was a frightening concept. That meeting itself was quickly coming up upon her as well.

"Plug it in then.. let's do what we can," she says, and then reaching to give Kat another hug before she stands she does so and walks over toward the console with Omandri. Coming up to his side and leaning on him a moment, speaking softer, "Even if she doesn't listen.. it's not totally her fault, alright? She's.. mislead," she says, a soft and subtle smile.

Kat gave Riss a tight hug, hoping that she could feel her strength and warmth in the brief embrace.

With a nod, she plugged in her comlink. "I'm ready."

[Dapper Dog]

OOC: Are you calling both?

[Riss]

[OOC: Let's do both at once, more dramatic I think.]

[Dapper Dog]

Duke Ulgo appeared, “You have five minutes, I am in the middle of an exercise.” Duchess Giandra appeared on a separate secure holo but stayed quiet for now.

[Katarzyna Ulgo]

"Uncle," Kat bowed. That she was using the familial adress instead of his more formal title was her sign of being more direct, and speaking as family rather than a Jedi.

"This is Omandri Rist. And this is Riss, of House Lanar. She has something important to tell you - her word can be trusted."

[Dapper Dog]

"Speak," he said.

[Omandri Rist]

Omamdri nodded to both Kat and Riss. He gave Riss a short hug as she leaned against him and made the call. Assuming Giandra answered as well Omandri kept his emotions in check taking Riss' words to heart "Sister, this is Riss Lanar a name you have already heard. She has something to tell you, if you have even a shred of trust for me listen to her. Please."

[Riss]

Bringing her two friends in close, "Preparation for your attack later today, you mean," she says, mustering herself for this. It was easier to put on a front with someone that was antagonistic. In some small way, she'd have to thank the duke for that demeanor of his. There was a slight dimming at the mention of Bryson but she found her spirit again.

"I know what you're planning. Duke Bouris Ulgo," she focuses on him, "You're going to be launching a main attack on the Panteer Palace," she looks to Giandra, "and Duchess Giandra Rist, you're going to be trying to assassinate the royal family," she looks between both screens though this likely didn't have any extra effect on their ends except for when she was looking at the other. "Both of you are going to be attacking the region in general. You.. think you're doing the right thing, seizing power, but you've both been mislead by... the Cunning Man, it seems. At least, that's the only thing that makes sense. Too many people who want only the best for Alderaan are dying because of this."

"I've warned the royal family already, and now I've asked Kat," she gives her a tug, "and Omandri," him a tug as well, "to get me in touch with you so I can give this warning to you too. Don't do this. You're playing into the hands of people who want to break Alderaan. I've put in the warnings.. and with the people I know, you won't succeed. Kat, and Omandri trust me, and they know this is wrong. So don't do this, don't hurt Alderaan anymore than she already is hurting," she says, her tone near pleading.
