[Day 1 - EM] The Hunt Begins

Galen was travelling light. He wasn't looking to engage with the hound, not yet. He just wanted to learn about it and get an idea of what it's territory was. This was the area where most predators could be found. If something had recently changed in the area, that might also explain the hound's behavior.

After a quick check of his blaster rifle and lightsaber, he adjusted his hunting goggles and began looking for a game trail.

It took some time and effort, but he eventually found something.

He found a hunting trail but the way he found it was tumbling down a ravine after losing his footing. Definitely on the right track though. The trail leads into Killik country.

It led to a wide open field with high grass for several kilometers in every direction and what looked like large mound with a dark cloud around it in the distance.

He holstered the rifle on his back. He wanted to appear as non-aggressive as possible. He continued on, carefully, trying to discern where the trail was leading.

[Dapper Dog]

The air is alive with buzzing as several two meter insectoid humanoid creatures land around Galen, about five in number. Armed with what look like chitin blades and chitin like blasters. They chitter but keep some distance from the human for now but the sounds don’t seem inviting.

[Galen Sol]

He held his hands out away from his body and took a step back.

"I mean no harm. I'm looking for a hound who has harmed some people."

He projected a feelings of peace and friendship through the Force.

They click among themselves and then look back to Galen and then click some more. For now they seem fine with his presence but wary.

Through the high grass he saw a figure approaching on foot.

He waited and watched, curious as to who was coming.

A near-human or perhaps an unknown sentient species approached and the killiks parted for her. She said, "You are not of Hive Kuvalz'lriz, you are of the Outsiders, the Killers of the Land and our Hive. We do not want you here, we are reasonable. We are the Hive."

Her eyes were jet black.

[Galen Sol]

"I apologize for intruding." he said. "I was searching for a hound that hurt some people. I wish to understand why."

[Dapper Dog]

"The Hive knows of this, the great hunter, the apex, even our own simply steer it away from our clutch nests," the woman replied.

[Galen Sol]

"May I have permission to seek it out? To remove it?" he asked.

[Dapper Dog]

"Why would you do this, you are selfish individual, no hive to protect," the woman responded.

"For the hound." he answered. "If it continues to kill, others will come to hunt it, to kill it. I hope to find another way."

[Dapper Dog]

She stares off and then looked back at Galen and said, “You have no hive, how can you be trusted, give us your skills and we can hunt this creature.”
