Delmi waited in her room for her guest to arrive.

She tapped on her earpiece, “You gettin’ this Theron?”

After a moment she nodded, “Good.”

She had some coffee and general morning snacks laid out as she waited in her room for the other woman.

Jocasta made her way to the designated room. After casting a broad net, she had received a cryptic message early in the morning hinting at some information about Julio. She was hopeful this lead would bear fruit, but also aware there might be those with less than honest intentions during the Festival.

When she buzzed the door, it opened to reveal a lone woman inside a sitting room, along with a small spread of breakfast items on the table.

"Good morning. I am Lt. Jocasta Teraan. Are you the one who contacted me about Julio?"

She smiled and nodded, “Yeah! Yeah, come in.”

She invited the woman in and gestured to a seat. “Name’s Delmi Koor. You have the gait of a military woman… I’m part of Havoc Squad in the Republic infantry.”

I serve with the Alderaan Defense Forces. I was Julio's CO before the cycled out. So... is he working with Havoc Squad then? He's a damn fine tech."

She smiled as she took a seat, “I just met him yesterday as a matter of fact…”

She motioned to the drinks, “Something to drink? Coffee?”

Jocasta walked into the room and took a seat. "Don't mind if I do." She pours herself a cup and takes a tester sip, sighing. "This is much better than the stuff I'm used to, but I'm sure you know all about that.

So, Julio's not with Havoc Squad... that's a shame. But he is working with you, doing what exactly?" Jocasta drinks more of her coffee.

Jocasta hesitates a moment, "As his friend, I want to say yes. Would I take him into battle with me, absolutely. As a commander, my honest assessment, I can't guarantee his combat readiness. Given the nature of how he left and the rumors I've heard since then, I'm not in a position to give a proper evaluation without speaking with him."

"Well, he left abruptly. Not just the ADF, but all of Alderaan. There were a few sightings, people that ran into him out in the void. Said he wasn't going so great, maybe PTSD, maybe something else. The war affected us all differently, not all wounds are visible." Jocasta sighed and picked up a sugary pastry, not her usual morning fare, but a necessity. "He was an outstanding technician before, back when he was with the ADF. But then, the Empire attacked and it took its toll."

"Nothing beyond that. I haven't had the opportunity to speak with him since his discharge. I've only heard second hand accounts... Why do you ask? Is there something you aren't telling me?" The pastry now sits forgotten on a tiny plate with a single bite taken out of it.

She put her cup down on the table, “I mean… I saw him at that protest yesterday. Had a group of tough lookin’ guys with him. He seemed to be fairly confident in himself as well. Didn’t seem the cowardly type.”

"I wouldn't call him cowardly. He was an outstanding soldier. And please bear with me, my reports are all second hand.

It makes sense that you saw him at a protest, he was never shy about sharing his mind. And while some men did become gun shy, I wouldn't call any of them cowards." she's says with a judgemental look on her face. "But then some men became more hair triggered, quick to lash out, disgruntled. Julio fit more into that group.

You said you were going on a mission with him tonight, killik extermination? I've run a few of those in my time. Maybe I could tag along, help out, and give you my assessment of his Julio is now.

Delmi paused for a good second as if making some internal decision.

"Okay... You look like a decent enough gal. So I'll level with you."

"It looks like Julio is somehow tied in with the Separatist Movement here on Alderaan... We're trying to monitor that situation. I'm trying to build trust with your friend... Figure out what exactly is going on with the movement."

She paused for a second, "I'm guessing you probably aren't the biggest fan of Alderaan leavin' the Republic. I'd like your help with Julio if possible... We're concerned that the 'peaceful' protests we saw are not exactly the whole story."

Delmi paused for a good second as if making some internal decision.

"Okay... You look like a decent enough gal. So I'll level with you."

Jocasta sat there shocked for a moment. "I don't understand, he was such a disciplined soldier. Yeah, he was angry with about the Treaty, but plenty of people were. I blame myself, I pushed him too hard, he probably felt like he had to keep fighting the Empire even after the peace."

She sits there silent for a moment, "No, I blame Duke Bouris. It was my mistake assuming House Ulgo would look after their own but they didn't. And what do you expect will happen when the head of your house, a war hero you've looked up to since you were a child, turns their back on the Crown. All the good Ulgo soldiers are going to follow his lead." She finished her rant with a disgusted look on her face.

"I may not agree with the Treaty or peace with the Empire on an instinctive level, they will always be an enemy in my eyes, but I understand the necessity of it. I'm not some warmonger that just wants to keep fighting until one side or the other is obliterated, I want the people to be free from the constant fear of attack. I respect the Queen and the Republic's decision for the good of the people.

I will help you out in any way I can, and maybe I can help Julio get out from under all this."

She smiled and reached out a hand to pat the woman on the shoulder, "Don't worry about convincin' me that the Empire needs to go. I'm probably more of a Hawk on that issue than you. I seen lots of shitty things happen to people all over the galaxy the past five years. That shit ain't gonna stop until the Empire's not around anymore. But leavin' the Republic... that's only gonna make things worse."

She leaned back and spread out her legs, resting her elbows on her knees. "Look, I'm officially a High Associate of House Thul. I can pretty much guarantee you that Julio isn't gonna be too happy when he learns about that. In reality, I'm just trying to get on their good side so I can figure out what the hell is goin' on there too. This is all secret stuff. Can't be tellin' anyone, ya hear?"

She tilted her head to the side, "You... on the other hand. Are the dude's friend and from a house that Ulgo doesn't want to exterminate. You can probably rebuild that trust with him pretty quick if you need to. I just need to know what's goin' on. The more we know... the better we can make sure your planet doesn't blow up into another round of pointless fighting."
