Open Secrets [Day 2, LE]

[Riss]

"Speaking of-" she raised the hand with the fork, a bit of cake in the air. "Omandri, the other Rist.." she pauses a moment to consider, she is involved with a few more of them than ever had thought she would be, which just hit now. Shaking her head she moves on through, "Omandri doesn't know me from.. here. When I was younger my mother was always a little suspicious of Rist so," she shrugged, "didn't like disappointing her as much as the others."

Plopping the cake in her mouth she continues as she chews, "Aurilie, Kat.. and everyone at that stupid get together now knows I'm Alderaanie. So, just good for you to know I think. Don't intend on spreading it further than I have it.." she swallows the bit of cake, "obviously causes me no end of problems," she chuckles with a slightly sardonic tone.

[Cynella Andrim]

"Everyone does from there? Are you sure? I didn't hear it there, after all, so someone else might have missed it entirely." Cynella smiled meekly. "But okay, right, I won't speak of it to the others. I do hope you can regale me more on House Lanar. I must admit, I'd otherwise research them or ask around but I don't wish to arouse any suspicion."

[Riss]

"I suppose.. but there's a chance," she says, chuckling awkwardly. Which was more or less Riss' way of conceding that point without being too direct about it. Taking another bite of the cake she thinks for a moment, "I'll.. happily do so, another time I think. Just.. a lot on my mind right now I'm not really sure where I'd even start. Mostly.. think about my folks nowadays that I'm back home," there's a rare earnestness to her words which almost immediately evaporates as she takes yet another bite of the cake.

[Cynella Andrim]

"Yes, yes, of course. In fact, you don't even have to. I'd say my curiosity got the better of me." Cynella stuffed her mouth with more devilish sweetness to avoid talking for just awhile longer. She hoped, at least, that her devious friend appreciated her continued partaking of such things. "Have you found them though? Or do you need help locating them?"

[Riss]

Riss gives a light smile, and one- just as the nature suggested- that turned a little more devious as Cynella takes another bite of the cake. Something about it was just all too pleasing, part that she got Cynella to try and the other that she seemed to enjoy herself a little at least, "I've found Bo. Mom, dad," she shakes her head. "Don't know about Meiss or Hir, but Bo's said that Neas is still at university best he knew.. not sure if I should trust Bo though he's.." she chuckles, shaking her head.

"Like me, but dumber," and then breaks out into a bit of a laugh.

[Cynella Andrim]

"Bo, Riss, Meiss... uh, the others," Cynella said, setting down her fork for the time being. "Short names are in fashion, apparently." She shook her head; such an observation wasn't too important. "I'm glad you found them, at least. I definitely can relate to siblings being stupid. At least, I assume Bo is your brother."

She pursed her lips. "Wait, you had to find them?" She leaned in. "Was your House deposed or something? They didn't simply lose their noble status, huh?"

[Riss]

"Don't lose noble status just cause you made enemies with the local troublemakers," she says, a soft sigh. "Thul's strong though, simple matter of just crushing a house like Lanar when we.. kind of, we were their vassals. Then.." she shakes her head, "doesn't matter. Big house smooshes little house," she says, stabbing the fork into the cake for emphasis.

"Anyway, yea. Mom liked short names, she talked about it once. Riss Lanar, it was easy to say in a world where everyone's got like a mouthful of syllables to their own. Mom said it made us all more memorable," she shrugs, "I think it's my attitude that makes me most memorable," she adds with a devilish smirk.

[Cynella Andrim]

"Ah." Cynella shook her head. "It's not so different on Kuat either. We have a vassal system of our own, beneath the Ten, and it is as you said. However, that doesn't quite explain why they'd do such a thing. Surely they wouldn't do that just... for fun."

She rolled her eyes. "Oh yes, I suppose those women with extra long names are the worst. That's why nicknames exist, you know." This time, it was her turn for a devious smile. "There's a reason why friends are the ones who get to call me Rhia.

"But you're right. I don't think your name is anywhere close to the reason you're memorable."

[Riss]

"Well.. I was gone when it happened with my family anyway. Heard stories but," she shrugs, shaking her head. "I know what happened, generally, but the exact why is.. foggy," she says, and as if she was suddenly foggy on what she was doing she starts toying with the cake with her fork a little. Not quite interested in eating it at that very moment. It didn't last too long as she found herself something to latch onto, "Have you said I can call you Rhia yet? Or- oh wait wait, was that it? That was it wasn't it?" she asks with an almost suddenly found bright grin as she looks to Cynella for the answer.

[Cynella Andrim]

"I see. Well, regardless of the reasons, it's never pretty. I'm glad you've found some of them, though. I wasn't sure how I could help find them, to be honest. Still a bit of an outsider here."

Cynella smiled. "I suppose I haven't." Poor Riss. Major Organa had earned that right... well, faster than anybody, really. "Rhia, yes. It sort of stuck at some point. I couldn't even tell you why since it's been so long."

[Riss]

"Rhia it is then," she says with a bright smile. Sitting with that new declaration for a moment as she just thinks a for a while. Toying with her food again, putting a fork into the cake and making the edges crumble down a bit.

[Cynella Andrim]

"I can see why you'd like it, along with your mother," Cynella said with a wink. "Though I must admit, she either was lackadaisical or lacked in table manners herself. Darling, it's not polite to play with your food like that!"

[Riss]

"New habits," she suggests, the unspoken idea that new habits die hard, as she stabs the fork in and raises it for a bite. However, she stops mid-way and locks eyes anew on Cynella. A devilish smirk playing up onto her expression, "So.. now that you know and everything. And you've got Aurie in your sights.. wanna hear some of the stuff we got up to when we were younger?" she chuckles, shaking her head. "I have soooo many stories," she says with a bright smile, forgetting the bite for the moment as the looks to Cynella.

[Cynella Andrim]

"Oh my. Would it be fair for me to indulge in such things?" Cynella asked, meeting Riss eye-to-eye. "Or are you going to do the very same behind my back?"

[Riss]

"Do you have to ask?" she laughs, meeting eyes as she plops the bite of food into her mouth and chewing it while waiting for the answer with a far too pleased-with-herself look.

[Cynella Andrim]

"Oh I can hardly imagine how much you can tell about me. They're not childhood stories, at least." Still, Cynella leaned forward, ready to hear all of it. Refusing Riss' unruly demands hadn't paid off before!

[Riss]

"Awesome," she chuckles, finishing the bite she leans in. "So, this one time..."
