[Day 5 - EA] Flower Court is in Session!

Bran smiles widely.

"If my help is desired, I am happy to give it. After we confirm it's a winner, perhaps Princess Jameela would like to announce the new offering. A 'new vision of an old favorite' sort of thing, to draw more folks in."

[Aurilie Alde]

Aurilie smiled sheepishly on the matter and shook her head. "Well, I don't know if we need to go so far to announce it again. I think I would be happy enough to have it be offered as a sleeper item and let people's curiosity," And bravery. "and quietly bring them in. I think there are more than enough winners around here today. Something for everyone if they enjoy anything overly sweet or bold."

"Ah," she nodded, understanding. "Very good. We shall of course help you in this mission, Miyi. Garth, make sure that we can find an icebox to keep these treats chilled for the young princesses to enjoy at home. It would be very bad if they melted before reaching them."

His task done, and a good sampling of treats collected, Garth returned to Kat's side and tucked the icebox under one of the trestle tables.

"So, th' Duke gonna tear me a new or'fice fer this ya think?" He asks her, his head tilting in Miyi's direction as she helps resolve the fruit cake conundrum.

Seeing all the discussion going on about the fruit cake, Blai got closer to the circle, and to the cake, and decided to try a bite.

Then another, with ice-cream.

Perhaps surprisingly, he actually liked it. Or, at least, he seemed interested, or curious. It was hard to tell, he seemed to keep thinking while he ate.

"Miss Alde!", he said with a half-formal bow when he saw a proper pause in the conversation. "This is interesting! May I ask which fruit you used for it?"

Aurilie raised her brows curiously with Blai approached and bravely tried the fruit cake, albeit in combination with some ice cream. She supposed she shouldn't be surprised by this, leave it to a scholar to try anything.

"Mister Frayus," she said in return with a quick bow and a faint smile on her lips. "I'm glad you think so, it was actually thanks to Ser Ulgo's ingenuity as a food chemist and Baroness Thul's cooperation."

She narrowed her eyes on the fruitcake, as if trying to get a better look at something. Part of her wondered if the fruits that she had picked were even used in the fruitcake or perhaps it was by some accident that they were thrown into the quick-preserver hastily then salvaged to make that concoction. "Well...initially, there were sunberries, emerald crescent, and some bits of well...blueberries. You might not see them so much now but I'm sure some of the specs here at least carry some of their colour."

The ice cream had seemed to bring all the boys to the yard, well at least a handful of people so Gil decided to look for other things to sample for the time being. He wasn't particularly one for sweets but a few of creations has caught his eyes. Not that abomination that looked like it glistened with sugar of top, but a few things.

The Count, imposing himself on no conversation, looked around for the children who might fancy his moon croissants.

Omandri smiled brightly with a tray of apple cinnamon treats. It was one of the things he had been given on his travels from a nice elderly Pantoran woman he met. He followed things exactly as he remembered and they tasted almost perfect. Hers were still better but these were a damn good tribute.

"Seems you've managed to become somethign of a baker." Gil offered to Omandri as he made his way over to the man and looked at the aple treats. "Sonething you picked up in your travels?"

Omandri smiled at the bodyguard "Hey Gil! Yeah had these one time a few years back. Lovely older Pantoran woman, I handled an infection for her husband's broken leg. She insisted in paying me in baked goods." He said with a laugh "I think I got the better end of that deal."

"I've taken the opportunity to share the cultural heritage of my planet." He said as he presented the tray.

Breela spent time among the other stands and tilted her head strangely at the pastries on display. "Ohh my," she says watching one kid bite sheepishly into the dapper gentleman's treats, revealing a decadent looking creme filling. After finishing the dessert the youngster beamed in appreciation. "May I try one as well?"

[Count Serenno]

"It's for the children, but one should be acceptable." The Count smiled.

Breela indulged and was struck at the complex flavors of the filling, "Delicious!" She said honestly. "Though I'm having a hard time placing the flavor profile." Is it caramel, and apple?

"I shan't share the secret of the whole recipe, but the fruity part you are feeling is granadilla and shuura."

[Kellen Rist]

"I'm amazed by everyone's baking skills, good job all. The children are really spoiled this year." He grinned and handed more of the decadent chocolate bars around.

[Breela Po]

She savors each decadent nibble and smiles warmly, "Thank you for sharing. I think pretty soon you'll be up to your elbows in business." She motions to the youngsters who were spreading the news about the Count's delicacies. She then bows politely and starts towards another stall.

Baked goods didn't pay the rent, but Omandri likely wasn't exactly hurting for money either. "They do look good." Gil replied with a hint of a smile. "I guess after a few dozen you decided to ask her for the recipe?"

Omandri nodded clearly in good spirits "yeah! I wrote it down somewhere but lost track of it. Luckily I have a pretty close to photographic memory so I was able to remember it when I heard we were baking."

He edged one toward Gil "feel free to try them if you like. They're for the children but I doubt one or two will be missed."

"You say that like baking is easy." He frowned for a moment. "I've eaten enough burnt cookies in my life to know such is not the case."

Nevertheless he picked one of the treats up and took a bite. "It's good, I'm sure the kids will love it."

Omandri shrugged a little "Well it's mostly chemistry and timing. The hard part is figuring out ratios and time to cook. If you have a recepie should be pretty easy for most things. Some recipes do have weird techniques that make them more complex. But in general baking is pretty straight forward, at least just to make something edible." He said casually

"Thanks!" Accompanied by a smile was the reply to his compliment. It was followed by a raised eyebrow "and did you bake anything for today Gil? You don't seem the apron on baking type but people have surprised me before." His lips curved in an amused expression as he talked.

"I've worn an apron before, just the other day in fact." He glanced to where his fruit skewers were. "Didn't bake though."

"Thought some fresh fruit would be nice....." He frowned. "It wasn't a wise decision."
