[Day 5 - Early Night] The Flower Parade!

[Dapper Dog]

The float is decorated in dark colored flower petals and is made to resemble the ancestral home of House Thul, the people on board throw petals to the crowd as it moves along the broad avenue owards the balcony where the Royal Family is, it is in third in line to pass before the Queen.

OOC: The Thul float is at Medium to everyone but Brannis who is at Short. The Jedi is at Medium to everyone and I will assume that the PCs are at Short to each other currently. Currently only Brannis and Riss are aware of the thugs on the float.

The float will be in front of the Queen in three rounds.

[Riss]

With her hand taken she narrows in her gaze on the count, giving Brannis a nod before he runs off. As he does she calls out, "I'll get them!" and then turns away from the float and moves through the crowd. Heading to Kat first she suddenly comes up upon the woman's side and takes her by the arm much like she had Brannis before but with a touch more ease to it. Using the leverage to lean in against her, getting herself as close to Kat's ear as possible, "Trouble, float, blasters," is what she says before leaning back and locking eyes with Kat.

Breaking away she rushes off toward the Count that Brannis had pointed out before. No time for greetings she too grabbed his arm like she had Brannis but left some distance as she leaned in for the whisper, "Trouble, float, blasters," and then broke off.

[Katarzyna Ulgo]

Kat was shook out from her admiration of the parade by Riss' touch and her quick words. However, she was a Jedi, and quickly understood... and acted. Riss got only a brief nod, as Kat moved over to Brannis where she could see him approaching the float.

He could feel her arm bump lightly against his, as she seemed now highly aware and alert, standing so that more of her body covered his side. "Plan?" she asked her cousin, her voice raised just enough to be heard above the music.

[Brannis Ulgo]

Having gotten closer to the thugs with guns that he'd seen, Bran busts out his military command voice and all the attention-getting presence he can muster without artificial amplification. If he lives he'll be hoarse tomorrow, but right now he's doing all he can to make every Alderaanian drill sergeant proud of his volume.

"You aren't heroes, and you never will be this way," he bellows. "Don't draw those guns. Get out of here now, before you make a mistake you can't come back from! Alderaan needs heroes. She needs protectors! Of our world and our people! Get out of here so you can live to be a hero, not die some wretched traitor. The guards are coming for you now, so run!" Other sources of noise came in and out, but Bran's voice was a deep resonant base on every word, so even if they missed one sentence, the others all piled on motivation for them to flee.

No idea what all those advantages can do, but hopefully this beats their roll. Have a Natural Leader reroll I could use if I'm allowed to decide about that after seeing their roll.

The thugs turn to look at Brannis and despite the fact they felt strongly this was the way, his words reach them and they end up bailing leaving a single person on the float.

OOC: They flee.

Julio frowned and threw off the costume and knelt down and kicked up the speed on the float. This was his moment and he was not going to let it go by.

OOC: The man increased the speed, pushing past the other floats and will be below the balcony on the next round. Maneuver for Cover.

Meanwhile

Seeing the commotion at the float the Jedi raised their weapon and shouted, "By the Jedi Order I condemn the Queen and free Alderaan from Sith control!"

They began running forward with the blazing blue lightsaber causing chaos!

"You are ridiculous, zealot."

The Count moved to engage the pseudo-Jedi, raising his ancestral sword against the lighstabre without fear. The crowd limited his stance, but he managed to land a blow with ease, exactly where he wanted: the sword-arm.

The jedi deftly parried the strike and although his wrist work was capable the nimble fighter caught his weapon and spun it about still ready to do battle. People gaps and shout, “That man is attacking a Jedi!”

“He’s trying to kill the Jedi!” another shouted!

The Jedi leveled their blue saber at the Count, “Imperial dog!”

OOC: 3 strain to Parry for 5 reducing damage to 3, soaked and 3 more strain to avoid Disarm.

[Katarzyna Ulgo]

The Count would soon find himself supported by another person with a Lightsaber.

Jedi Knight Katarzyna dashed through the crowd towards the confrontation, and stopped before this so-called Jedi, her own blade of pure green ignited.

"Stand down! This is not the Jedi way!"

A well dressed neimoidian pointed and spoke in their native tongue.

[Riss]

With everyone warned and rushing off to action Riss has a split moment where the crowd has parted a bit, there's an open space toward the float and she just has to look around and consider for a moment, "Why, why is it always the running?" and she takes off. Rushing ahead she breaks off past around one awakward pedestrian, hands coming up to their shoulders as she brushes past them. Whipping around Brannis she catches onto the side of the float. Hands finding holds and ifting herself onto it she comes up nearer the center. For a moment she locks eyes with Julio, "Nice ride it's.." and breaks eye contact to take a glance around to see if she can't figure out anyway to stop it on her own from here.

Action.. to disable to ferry maybe? She can shoot something vulnerable looking if there is something. Or talk with Julio, whatever her options seem to be.

OOC: She can make an Average Mechanics check or shoot the mechanicals and hope she gets 3 advantages or a Triumph to disable the float. Or address Julio.

[Riss]

".. it's really not going the way I want it to though? So, how about we change course, mm? Before this all gets way, wayyy too outta hand?" she says, sliding into the space next to him. Flashing him one of her trademark smiles she gives him a little shoulder bump, something aided by a rocking motion from the ferry, "No hard feelings though, huh?" as she drops down to her knee, reaches in, and yanks really hard on something that shouldn't be yanked on if you want a functional ferry to keep operating.

Julio responded angrily, "Kriff! We're the good guys!"

[Riss]

"Float full of blasters rushing toward the queen, sure you are," she calls up a touch incredulous and a touch angry, face within the floats bowels muffling her voice slightly. Though there was still the apparent strain in her voice from all the exertion.

[End of Riss' turn, probably!]

[Dapper Dog]

Julio tried to reach in and keep in going but she had really done a number and he couldn’t get it going so he kicked some petals into her face momentarily blinding her as he rolled off the now still float. In hand he held a detonator.

Meanwhile the Jedi swung their weapon at Kataryzna but the Jedi defenses easily battered away the weapon as their light blades hissed and popped. Seeing they might be outclassed the Jedi started looking for options and backed up away from her.

OOC: Action to try and fix the float, failed but using advantage to give Riss a setback on her next action and then maneuver to move to Short. Maneuver to draw detonator.

Jedi? missed and using Advantage to regain 1 strain, and Maneuver to Short. PC turn.
