[Day 3 - EA] Protest Music

The festival is in full swing even with the rain, well the rain hitting the repulsor field overhead creating a spilling vista of water and dark clouds but they were all staying dry on the fairgrounds. Joran was out with freidns enjoying the sights of the festival only to find an impromptu concern going on of protest music that was very much anti-Queen and anti-Panteer.

His friends tried to get him to ignore it, but he was too incensed to let it go. But he was not alone many people were booing and shouting at the protestors. Many wearing Jedi Princess shirts, and other people ere doing the Captain Alderaan Dance challenge.

Tuvi lead a group protestors in singing a song that exulted the values of Duke Ulgo and the Republic and cast the Panteers in the light of cowards. It was more a chant than song but with several dozen people singing together it was getting notice.

Nearby Riss watched over things for the moment, thinking and considering what was happening. Sat cross legged on a crate that was being moved half-a-minute before she sat one it by a few folk probably bringing food supplies toward one of the nearby stalls. For now though? It was a perfect perch from where to watch the events. However, it was a glance of the royal head of Joran popping through the crowds that would cause her to lean forward. Suddenly a passive watching of events called up the reminder that she now needed to figure out her options.

Which.. considering this was a mess, meant she could fit right in.

Having planned on meeting up with Riss, Kat was slowing her pace as she heard the sounds of... protest music?

Seeing the familiar pink-haired woman, she approached and kept an eye on things as she did. The prince and his retinue, as well as the protesters. "... What's going on here?" she asked her friend, trying to take in the scene.

"Oh heyyy," she says, with that characteristically bright smile. Reaching a hand out to her side she pats the top of the crate she's sitting on as if to offer a seat, but not only is there not enough room the fact it was somebody elses storage crate was evident enough. "Missed you," she said, and then points out toward the group, "Well you see, we have a group of folk that don't care if they ruin a good mood. Some.. dumb agenda of theirs or whatever," she shrugs.

Looking back to Kat she puts a hand to her chest, "They don't like the Panteer, so they came to the Panteer to tell them about it like that's gonna help anything," she puts her hands up in the air, "I was just considering my options on what I'm gonna do next. Something shameless, I think, but- maybe fun? Maybe even something good. I'm not sure yet. See.." she turns more toward Kat, leaning in and speaking a little more conspiratorially, "I need to get close to Joran. This is about my.. problem," she says, giving a certain 'you know' kinda look. "So, I'm debating the best way to do that with my two greatest advisors, myself and.. you," she says, a smirk.

As it happened, Captain Alderaan himself was there. He was not doing the Captain Alderaan dance challenge. He did, however, have a shopping bag, with a Jedi Princess shirt sticking out of it.

He frowned, though, less from hearing the protest, and more from seeing the Prince moving to confront it. Straightening, and loosening his collar, Niall made his way through the crowd to join him.

An eyebrow quirked sceptically at the offered seat from Riss, and Kat remained on the ground, standing ready. Riss could recognize the light tension in the Jedi's form underneath the clothing, making Kat look something like a cat ready to spring into action. She had looked like that when they'd been on more troublesome planets than Alderaan.

"Communication is key to talk out once's disagreements, but I have a feeling this is not what these people want." She remarked dryly, switching her attention back to Riss as she felt the woman lean in closer. "... Close to the prince?" She understood it probably had some information that could help the family-problem, so Kat throught it through.

"Let's go assist Ca---Major Organa, and his highness as well. If things can be handled calmly and peacefully, perhaps you'll get the chance to speak to him. If not, I believe it might be closer to approach is brother prince Gaul, to have it delivered?"

Riss lowers her hands to rest on the side of the crate, shaking her head, "Nah, I.." she shakes her head. "Gotta be with him, I can do it just.. yea," she glances off toward the demonstration. "Don't think I can while that bit of annoyance is in the way.. so let's do it, mm?" she says with a broad grin and then lifts herself up, shifting her feet underneath herself, and kind of leaping toward the ground beside Kat. Brushing herself off, including her ratty looking jacket, she looks back up to her and puts a hand on Kats shoulder, a brief smile, "Maybe.. if you can give me the chance to talk to whoever's in charge? I can.. figure them out, mmm?" she places her other hand over her own heart, "I'm really good at figuring people out," she adds with a smirk.

With that, Riss was ready to move along toward the mainstay when Kat was.

Zeno was there as well. And when the prince started approaching the patriarch of Thul got in there too. The princess had been struck in a similar cluster and he would not have his prince struck as well. He stood ready to defend the prince and Panteer with both word and action if necessary.

"I see. Well then, let's see what we can do to make it happen then." She didn't know what exactly it was, but she trusted Riss that it wasn't something dangerous or explosive.

The two of them made quite the contrasting pair as they approached the gathering, joining up with Niall and the others drawn to the potential problem that this could become.

Snip

Omandri had been walking the grounds when he heard the commotion and went to investigate. Seeing the protest music and chanting he frowned and let out an exasperated sigh. Hopefully this wasn't going to be a regular occurrence every other day. But with how things are that might be inevitable.

He saw Riss with Kat heading toward things presumably to help out. Maybe. Unclear until he got closer. Omandri approached them "so this was a lovely afternoon." He remarked as he drew near "seems the protestors are determined to ruin as much as they can this being their second display of the festival."

After her meeting with the Major, Jocasta decided to go for a run to make up for the one she'd skipped that morning.

Donning her PT clothes (a short-sleeve sweatshirt paired with laughably short shorts deemed "commando panties", she decided to jog through the fairgrounds and enjoy some of the festive atmosphere, but that atmosphere was ruined when she finally got close enough to make out the lyrics, if one could call them that, of the music.

Her first instinct was to run up and give them a dressing down, drill sergeant style, but then she thought of Julio. If he saw her defending the Crown in public, she would lose his trust. She decided to hold back and see if she could spot him amongst the protestors.

OOC: Perception check to search the protestors and crowd for Julio?

As she approached the outskirts of the crowd, Jocasta pulled the hood of her sweatshirt over her head, trying to be less conspicuous. Circling around the perimeter, she scanned faces and kept a lookout for bandages similar to Julio's if she couldn't make out their appearance.

She spots Julio there with about four brutish protestors who looked prime for a fight.

When Delmi heard there was a bit of a protest forming around the music event she was disappointed... but also knew that it was where she needed to be just in case some crazy stuff happened.

Disappointed, but not surprised, she pushes her way into the crowd heading towards Julio, intent on stopping him from doing anything stupid and also wanting to get a good look at his new friends.

"It's true. Provocation will do no good. They'll likely use any admonition from the royal family to fuel the anger and discontent of their gathering," Zeno says, using his voice of reason with no sign of entertainment at it. He didn't seem to be joking around and meant to keep the prince safe if it came to that.
