[Day 5 - Early Night] The Flower Parade!

As darkness overtakes the grounds the crowds are high as a parade of hovering floats passes through the fair grounds with dazzling displays made of flowers and plants all fulfilling the theme of romance. Over head there is a light display that blankets the sky in beautiful designs that echo the Houses of Alderaan images of the Queen and her immediate family and at the end a tribute to the ancient Queen that sparked this event with images that retell the story.

The Queen and her royal family watch from the palace under high security.

Bran, in his slightly bulky "street clothes," is in among the common people to witness the parade and the lights. He had specifically told his staff that they weren't working tonight, that the parade was not a photo op or event of any kind, although he had a sneaking suspicion that at least one of them was lurking somewhere nearby, ready to get candids for his parliamentary social media. Not that he was going to spend too much effort trying to avoid that -- the parade and the lights were great fun that he'd enjoyed since he was a kid. With peace returned to Alderaan, being back at the flower festival parade was exactly as the world should be. He chatted amiably with folks who recognized him, making sure to thank anyone who mentioned having fought in the war for their service, and felt all around very pleased with the universe this evening.

The Count found his own vantage point to take in the cultural manifestation of Alderaan's spirit, trying to discern the meanings and antecedents of the exhibited decorations and parade dances.

Riss was still dressed in the dress from the event on the cruise earlier today. An elegant ensemble, covered up by her rather ratty and weighty jacket held over her shoulders. Walking along she keeps an eye out for friends mostly. Meandering along the way as she watches the light displays, just barely avoiding walking into folk. A pretty wandering girl with a head full of thoughts the world around her often stepped out of her way than forcing her to pay attention to where she was walking. She'd wind up near Brannis enough, catching his eye and offering a wave. A pause to see if he was in the mood for company or not before she endeavored to approach.

One of the Jedi was present in the crowd, watching the displays and parade with a calm but warm smile. While she was troubled by some of the things that had leaked during the night regarding her fellow Jedi, she felt that she at least had maintained the good image of the Jedi by being seen publicly being kind and proper.

Music is jamming as the floats go by.

OOC: Vigilance or Perception checks at Average with a setback die for the distraction of the parade.

Riss' searching around for her friends, meant she was looking in all the wildest directions. Jedi do crazy stuff sometimes.

Bran had spotted Riss and, on a whim, started toward her. He happened to be looking in the right direction to see something as he maneuvered through the crowd.

Brannis noticed that one of the floats belonging to House Thul had a number of people throwing flowers but he also noticed they were armed under their garish ill-fitting outfits.

Riss saw the same float with the garish costumed thugs and noticed the weapons as well, blaster pistols and was that a blaster rifle covered in flowers?

Kataryzna was oblivious to the dangers but it was pretty!

OOC: Save that Threat for now.

He was having a good time though he noticed another Jedi in the crowd the glint of a lightsaber hilt briefly visible as they made their way through the crowd.

Riss helps finish the distance as she notices the trouble, and also Brannis' own noticing. Quickly rushing up to him she grips his forearm with an outstretched hand which quickly collapses as she steps closer. Leaning in over his shoulder so her can hear her speak more clearly over the din of noise, "Those blasters are way suspicious right?" she asks with some levity, but continues without the answer, "Is Kat here? Do you know? Or.. anyone?" she asks, hand still held to his arm she glances around for any sight of someone whom might have a friendly face that she would see.

OOC: Moving to more structured narrative mode. Riss and Brannis may roll Cool at Simple while Count Serenno and Kataryzna roll Vigilance at Simple.

"Yeah, way suspicious," he says, opening the flap on his holster so he can draw his blaster if he needs to. "I don't know if we have anyone else close..." He tries to scan the crowd for friends at the same time he's keeping an eye on the float of firearms.

"Is that Kat over..." He takes Riss' hand in his to point to one side, sort of the third point of a triangle formed from the pair and the float. "And Count What's-his..." he said with a bit of a frown, noting the elegant man also nearby.

OOC: Brannis can take one maneuver before we start structured narrative.

Bran resists the temptation to draw the blaster now and instead uses both hands to start making a path through the crowd toward the float. One way or the other, getting closer is going to be important...

---------
Move directly toward float, hopefully ice-cutter-ing a path for Riss to follow expeditiously.
