Day 4 ME: Finishing touches

[Baesal Zyn]

She poured again

''Aside from the explosions...how are you doing?''

[Layne Hoshin]

Layne gave a sigh.

"I have no idea what I'm doing," she said. "With the shield... with my padawan... with this planet."

[Baesal Zyn]

Baesal sipped her drink slowly, listening quietly

''That...is true for most people...but most people would not want to admit it. I don't know what you are doing either because I am not there to see it but...I know you will do good in the end.''

She leaned back in her chair

''You always try in earnest and if screw up you end up always doing right by those you wronged. Tyche is lucky to have you as a master.''

She sipped

''...except for the shield...you're no gearhead'' she said with a grin

[Layne Hoshin]

"Could you maybe tell *her* that?"

She blinked.

"The master thing, not the shield stuff. I *really* want to make that work, but man. I am going to start running out of credits soon."

[Baesal Zyn]

''Like I said...I can take a look whenever you want.'' she slid in her chair a bit more

''Have you spoken about yourself much with Tyche. I know you are a private person but...being more open with your padawan about how you came to be you could help her understand.''

[Layne Hoshin]

"I don't know, having you look at it almost feels like cheating," she said with a shrug, then moving on to the other part of the conversation. "I mean, I can try... I guess."

[Baesal Zyn]

''Knowledge is one thing...but knowledge can often be framed in ways that changes how you come to interpret it.'' she explains

''If your explain to her how you came to be who you are, she will better understand you and why you teach her the way you do...I understand that doing so might leave you with a feeling of vulnerability but revealing this aspect of ourselves to someone is also a great show of trust so it will tell her how much you value your relationship.''
