Negotiations Will Be Short. Hopefully (D7, EE. Tethys')

With the more official note given, Kat went to seek out Tethys and started first at the woman's private quarters. Dressed in her Jedi clothes as always, Kat knocked on the door to Tethys' room. "Knight Carrack? It's Katarzyna Ulgo."

Tethys keys the door lock, and the panel slides aside, revealing to Kat her fellow Jedi standing on the other side of the threshold in shirtsleeves and bare feet. A datapad lying on the small room table next to a cup of tea shows what Tethys has been up to before the knock.

"Katarzyna? What's up? Is everything all right?"

Given the exciting incidents clustered over the past few days, it's a reasonable question to ask...

"I'm fine," she assured her fellow knight, bowing. "There's just something I need to talk to you about, related to all the things that's been happening lately. If I may come in?"

[Tethys Carrack]

"Of course." Tethys steps back from the doorway and gestures Kat inside the small, neat lodging suite. "Something I can help with?"

Kat couldn't help but to cast a glance around after stepping in, a habit of being aware of her surroundings but also to get a feel of a room's occupant.

"Yes. I've been talking with prince Gaul, about the troubles we spoke about with our fellow Jedi and the other things that have been happening to ruin peace on Alderaan. I suggested bringing the houses together, for a meeting, to communicate and work together when others are trying to divide them." As she was talking, her blue eyes were focused on Tethys.

"He agreed and is calling a summit with the houses. A Jedi can be present as a neutral party to mediate where there's a need for that... I would do it, but as an Ulgo I don't want to give people a reason to doubt my impartiality. I suggested you would be a good candidate and his highness agreed."

The space looks just like every other unit of this block of temporary modular housing, in outlines--living space with a counter/table and seating and a small food preparation area at the near end, sleeping space at the far end, basic data console, two closet doors (one of which is probably actually the refresher cabinet). A window opens to a view of the flower plantings at the back side of the modular structure, now slightly polarized to keep the inside lighting contained as the daylight starts to fade.

Besides Tethys's datapad and tea mug, the table holds a bowl with an arrangement of cut greenery. An outer robe of the Jedi sort is draped over a chair; there are boots tucked out of the way in a corner and an empty rucksack slouched on the nightstand. The bed is made, but to civilian standards, not military ones: neat but not mathematically perfect. Still, it seems Tethys keeps her living area fairly tidy, or perhaps just doesn't travel with very many possessions to clutter it.

"I see." Tethys nods at Kat's explanation, brows knitting and a frown pulling at the corners of her mouth as she re-runs the dense tangle of Alderaanian noble politics in her mind. "Yes, I'm probably the best choice of us here. I've some experience with this kind of business, though... not in the Core Worlds. First time for everything." Her voice takes on a slightly wry note at that.

She pads over to the table and snags her still-warm mug, sliding it across the faux-wood surface toward herself. "Have a seat? It's clear why you can't be the one to mediate this, but if I'm going to do it, I could use an inside perspective."

"You are, yes. Alyesele and I both have experiences with this sort of thing, but... Organa, and Ulgo, same for Zayne," she shrugged a bit, and moved to the offered seat. A brief frown crossed her features as she cast a glance to the side, then looking back to Tethys. "Layne would probably not want to do this kind of task if we asked, and has her history with the Rist." Which would be a terrible choice.

And since Thy was living out in the wild to avoid people, it was probably best to let her do her own thing.

"And of course, I'd be happy to help. Do you mean an inside perspective of the Houses and those who will be there? I could also share with you my compilation of notes on the topic we spoke of the other day... I've been keeping track of it, and working with Major Organa in sharing information whenever we have time to meet. None of us want to take the chance to pass all this through a message, considering what happened."

"Yes, as much of the new intel as possible, since someone is clearly trying to stir the pot here." Tethys nods. "I helped Niall--Captain Organa, that is--take in another suspect in the whole mess this morning, but I don't think I have the full picture there. Especially about which noble houses are tied up in it and how." With a rueful note, she adds, "If I'd known I would be in this position, I would have followed it all more closely from the beginning."

"As for background data... I did my reading about the major Houses during transit, but if there's anything you know about the main players from your personal acquaintance with them that could be useful...?"
