Tethys plants a palm on the table and leans in for a closer look at the holographic image. The rotating projection casts her intent face in a bluish light.

"Where did this come from, exactly? How old is it? An artifact that's already catalogued, sitting in museum storage... that isn't time-sensitive evidence. Why take it now? Unless it's valuable to a collector."

Baesal showed some of the detail she had this morning

''A ship used the explosion as cover to escape: according to intel the local officers where able to gather the ship went towards the North and it had a local flight manifest saying it come from the Organa Space port but it didn’t head back that way. It was registered to a local woman, Padma Buk, whom I went to visit. I asked Daz to check the Organa's database to confirm the manifest.''

She brought another set of information

''I manage to save the thief's ledger: the data was just lists and records of sales, mentionned someone named Janeq Bu and that this person owes them about 17,000 credits for “services” though not explained for what. It does have details of who he was selling to and includes several of the nobility and companies on Alderaan and Delaya. There was a ledger record pointing to about three days before the incident from the same Janeq Bu for a ''vase relic, with a note that this was for a third party.''

Galen studied the holo as well. "What's to the north?"

"It came from a dig and sat in storage due to its 'controversial' nature. You might be surprised to hear that certain Alderaanians aren't so keen on artifacts that suggest a time of peaceful cooperation between Killiks and Humans." His tone suggested he could not be any less surprised.

"You are correct. The timing is very odd. It had not been on display, but collectors became aware of it around two months ago. Enquiries were made to the Alde Trust about purchasing it, but of course they were denied."

[Lunael Organa]

((Given how late in the day this thread started, I feel no guilt joining after dayroll.))

Lunael attended the meeting, but aside from introductions kept to herself for the moment. House Rist taking an interest in peacefully resolving the killik situation was surprising, but individual interests can veer wildly from the houses' focus. Best to assess intentions before weighing in.

Galen studied the holo as well. "What's to the north?"

''Not sure'' she replied ''I am unfamiliar with these lands''

''I have some contacts who are looking for Miss Buk but I do not know the nobility well enough, the black market or the lay of the land...I would ask your help on this. This clay vase could shed a new light on the history of killik-human relations and with that knowledge we will be better equipped to make peace possible.''

[Tethys Carrack]

"Is there any reason not to confront this--Mr. Bu? Ms. Bu? The person from the ledger." Tethys is still watching the image of the vase revolve, but her mind is moving in more concrete directions, apparently. "Stolen antiquities on the move... I imagine time is of the essence with something like this. The fewer hands it has time to pass through, the better."

''If you feel like confrontation is needed then I trust your judgement Tethys. I am not used in handling things like these.''

[Tethys Carrack]

"Maybe 'confrontation' isn't the right word. A chat without an appointment, rather." Tethys's lips quirk. "Do you know this person's address? If not, and if they're on Alderaan, a word to local law enforcement might be in order."

[Baesal Zyn]

''I am sure we can found them on Alderaan since they met the thief...I am not sure for the other clients.''

[Tethys Carrack]

"If the other names in the ledger are mixed up in crimes against Alderaanian law, that's a matter for the planetary government." Tethys shrugs one shoulder, a bit dismissively. "They should be investigating. If there's nothing sensitive in that ledger, they have a right to it--probably best to turn over a copy. Unless you've done that already?" She glances aside at Baes... then back to the holo.

Long fingers reach out as if to touch it, though of course her fingertips just brush through the glowing projection. "The Force drew you to one stolen object in particular. Unless you saw something else in those files that looks important, I think this is the one to chase. And it sounds like this Bu is the person who has it--or had it recently, at least."

"I'm new to Alderaan, if any of you are locals and know anything about that area to the north..."

"The same applies for the black market, and nobility especially. You might want someone with more social graces than I have at my disposal. But I'm not averse to splitting up if you want to dole out assignments. I can run protection for someone that's got street connections they want to explore."

[Galen Sol]

"On Bankor, I could lead you pretty much anywhere." he shook his head. "Here, you'll have to show me a trail to follow."

[Kellen Rist]

Kellen rather enjoyed listening to outsiders' ideas of what Alderaanian society considered appropriate. As a Rist it was often highly entertaining. He offered a polite smile and cleared his throat.

"I suggest that you leave the Black Market and those assorted connections to me. If this Janeq Bu is a supplier or trader then they will be more likely to talk to a local than to law enforcement or Jedi. No offense. Plus you will simply cause the, er, vendors I suppose, to disperse."

He gave Tethys a nod. "You are right though, no time to waste. I will talk to my people and see what we can find."

Kellen started sending out text queries to his family contacts.

''I have some people working with authorities looking around but they can be quite independently minded''

He gave Tethys a nod. "You are right though, no time to waste. I will talk to my people and see what we can find."

That seemed sensible ''Once you find where he oar she operates, let us know. Perhaps the Force will help us find further clues.''

She looked at the other people assembled

''Otherwise we will need to gather intel on the killiks themselves, their habitats, history and so on until we can find a way to approach them peacefully.'' she turned to Galen specifically ''Since you already had a peaceful encounter with one hive, perhaps we can begin looking at that one?''

He nodded. "I advised them that we might want to speak with them again."

"Very well, supposing my reputation proceeds me that would make sense." She said sounding outwardly cheerful while feeling inwardly useless.

Kellen nodded his thanks to the group. "I am sure that we can arrange a map for you to peruse Galen. Of course it is not the same as having one's boots on the ground, but if you think it would be helpful then I will see what I can do."

He turned his attention to Baesal. "My cousin Ghoun's name came up. I quizzed him this morning. According to him he was notified about the relics existence two months ago. He made enquiries to the Alde Museum Trust about purchasing it from them. They declined and that was that."
