D6 LE Activating an icky Holocron: 2eF 3 Dark Side


OOC: Well, silly me should'be looked at Holocron rules more closely.
Does using the Dark Side in this manner generate Conflict? If so, I'd rather not use those Dark pips and just fail

The holocron does not activate.

[Galen Sol]

After some hesitation, Galen reached out and activated it.

I'm assuming we don't have to roll all of our Force.

"I'm sorry..." she said, bowing her head to the other two. "... I was wrong, in what I said earlier, it seems."

"Activating this holocron, it requires the one opening to call upon the darkness. I would rather not."

[Galen Sol]

"It's alright. I'm willing." Galen said. "For Alderaan. For her."

[Dapper Dog]

The holocron activated as the darker impulses of Galen fueled the activation and the gatekeeper appeared, "Good news everyone, these are the collected words of Darth Dominus."

OOC: Assuming he spends the Destiny and suffers the Conflict/Strain then it works.

"Darth Dominus, we would like to know of your work on Alderaan." Galen said.

Destiny would be from Session 2, or would you prefer it come from the Session 3 pool?

[Dapper Dog]

"Well it was simply to bring back the life of the party," the gatekeeper responded.

[Katarzyna Ulgo]

"What did you do with the Kath Hounds?" she asked, keeping herself calm even if the gatekeeper gave her a sense of disgust.

[Blai Frayus]

Blai looks at Katarzyna worriedly as she says activating the thing needs opening up to the Dark Side... and then even more worried to Galen as he decides to go ahead and do it.

As the Holocron activates, he shakes his head. Was he being overly cautious? Was he a coward? He was concerned about the planet.

Once again, Galen showed himself more willing to do whatever was needed... for her.

Instead of frustration, though a smile came through his face. He had much to learn from this man.

Soon, however, the reverie was cut short by Dominus' voice.

He nodded at Katarzyna's last question, and waited for an answer. After a while, he added some more.

"so... I assume you brought back life? And... what kind of life is that you bring to the party?" A moment of silence, a wince. "...your own life, perhaps?..."

[Dapper Dog]

"Foolish and weak, but good news you can become stronger you too can serve the one true master of the galaxy," the gatekeeper responded.

[Galen Sol]

"How is your work intended to bring back the master?" Galen asked. "What servants did you prepare for the master?"

Each time he said the word "master", a look of disgust crossed his features.

[Dapper Dog]

"You are not yet steeped enough in the Dark Side to grasp this wisdom, but good news, I can guide you," the gatekeeper responded.

[Katarzyna Ulgo]

"As I warned, he is trying to tempt us to the Dark side. Dangling possible answers before our eyes," Kat watched the gatekeeper with narrowed eyes. "I don't think he will be of any help, Galen."

[Galen Sol]

"Well, we know his work failed." he shrugged. "So, he likely didn't know what he was doing anyway."

[Blai Frayus]

The scholar seems rather disgusted, definitely worried and most certainly not tempted.

One brow raised, he looks at the others, then back at the image of Dominus. "This 'one master'... he couldn't mean... could he??"

Another look at the others. Even someone relatively alienated as he was had definitely heard the news of the death of the Emperor. Did he mean these rumours about an Empress? Or... given what he was saying about bringing back life...
