[Day 2 - LM] Soup for the Masses (Twin Event)

"That's a very one sided view of balance. A scale is not balanced if you put all the weight on one side. A blade is not balanced if the guard is heavier than the edge. An ecosystem is not balanced if it has only prey or predator. Balance is equality between elements and the dar and light are both elements of the Force. Or do the Jedi have no practitioners of Juyo?" He is actually curious about that last question and it showed.

[Lunael Organa]

Lunael threw herself into the work without reservation or complaint. Though seeing how the royals conducted themselves, it was a shame the princess had her heart set on a husband. She'd clearly make the better partner.

She took the undesirable work of bussing table and cleanup, and seldom stopped moving. After all, this was nothing new to her; even setting aside the morality, visible acts of activism and community support were also part of the foundation of her political power base.

"You misunderstand that there is a scale with light and dark on opposite ends as weights. You also misunderstand the metaphor of the Force as an ecosystem; the predator and the prey both have their place in nature - death as well is all part of the natural balance of the universe. We are born, we live, we die; this is the truth of existence. The natural state of the Force is in balance, in life and death. What the Dark Side is is the perversion of that balance; it is corruption of the natural state of things, twisting and deforming, preying on our darker emotions and insecurities." Kat turned to look at him fully. "You should know, the Dark has after all left its physical marks on you. The Sith may have learned to skillfully call on the Dark for their power, but it does not make them immune to its corruption and its effects."

"Master Jaric Kaedan is quite an accomplished practicioner of Juyo, as is his padawan. It is however a dangerous form, and not one to be practiced lightly without a strong will, as well as understanding and knowledge of the flow of the Force. I admit, it's not a form I have studied, so I can't comment too deeply on how it is in practice, only what I've read," she remarked.

The queen listened while diligently scrubbing the utensils clean. Perfect.

"And those are much the same sentiments taught by the Sith. In the opposite. But in my experience, there are places in this galaxy that are naturally infused with both light and dark. As a Sith I had a dogmatic regard for the dark. Just as Jedi have a dogmatic regard for the light. But when you ignore the dogma and observe the actual presence of the Force, they are both in everything. So I don't really care to follow tenets of any organization that teaches a right or wrong way to use it. I'd rather just trust in the Force itself."

[Kellen Rist]

"We shall emphasize your commitment when next we speak with Duchess Rist," she said to Kellen.

Kellen bowed politely. "I would expect nothing less your majesty." He and his cousin would likely end up being sent to help, but at least they could have a good old fashioned Rist adventure together.

He continued to serve the masses. At least on Alderaan they were washed masses.

Katarzyna gave a nod. It reminded her much of what it had been like when her Master had taken a runaway Sith in as his new padawan, and how she had seen Syo guide the young man who had lived his life obscured by the Dark Side of the Force.

"By your last words, you have begun the path away from the Dark and towards balance, sir. May the Force be with you and guide you away from its grasp. It is a difficult path, but it is one that is worth it."

He smirked at that. He had been like that before. So stuck on the dogma. But Zash had taught that out of him. Knowledge and understanding of the Force was power, not following a belief system.

"When I find true balance I'll be sure to let you know."

[Delmi Koor]

Delmi walked about listening to this and that conversation. Hearing the Sith Jedi debate she chuckled internally.

I’ll show you ‘true balance’. I wonder how many of these bowls I can balance without having them fall over…

She started stacking bowls…

[Garth Wayne Ulgo]

Garth swung past the familiar Delmi with a grin and plate laden hands, headed in the direction of the kitchen.

"Zhwoom, zhwoom Major. Zhwoom, zhwoom."

The sudden movement caused Delmi’s tower to sway.

She gave him a forced smile as she collected herself and kept the tower steady.

Freakin’ flyboys… Messing up my demonstration on the Force…

[Count Serenno]

The Count continued to serve, though a small break for hydration was imminent.

[Gil Corren]

Gil had been rather happy washign dishes, still when the Thul had come to argue with the Jedi and wash dishes he had let the man have his spot, being a server wasn't really his cup of tea, but well it needed to be done. Settling into to where Zeno was, he gave a polite nod to his fellow servers before gettign to work.

People needed to be fed, even if the face doing so wasn't smiling.

Kat only nodded and continued her work, giving a look to Gil to share a brief smile as she caught his attention, before they both returned to their separate work.

[Galen Sol]

We all find balance in different ways.

Galen was sitting with a group of children, telling them stories of the Viridian Sea. "The trees are larger than the palace and there can be whole villages on top, like a massive treehouse...."

[Kellen Rist]

"We are pleased at the work that you have done for the Royal Museum, Professor Kellen Rist. We commend thee," she said as she continued cleaning.

He was a little taken aback that she had noticed. "Oh. Yes. Thank you your majesty. It is an honour to help preserve and understand the history of our people. I find it incredibly rewarding. There is always something new and unexpected to learn."

"Excellent. Now then, as pleasant as our chat has been, I do believe it best that I return to my duties here. Wouldn't want the dear prince or princess to think I'm slacking off, now would I?"
