Day 1 ME: Bug's life

[Baesal Zyn]

The knight's housing was not quite different from the other lottery winners or offworld guests but was big enough to accommodate a meeting with those interested in a peaceful solution concerning the Killiks.

Baesal arranged things as best they could and hoped the message reached the right ears

[Breela Po]

Breela changed into something more comfortable and made her way over to Knight Zyn's quarters. She had reached out about studying the Killiks and Breela had agreed to help. Once she reached the right door she knocked.

[Galen Sol]

Galen approached Baesal's quarters. Seeing someone else at the door, he walked up to stand beside her and waited.

"Hello, I'm Galen. Galen Sol." he said as they waited.

[Breela Po]

"Hi! Breela Po-" She caught herself from adding Jedi Knight. "Here to aid in the noble quest of studying Killiks, or just a hired gun/contingency like myself?"

[Galen Sol]

"A little of both." he answered. "I don't think this will be easy."

[Tethys Carrack]

Tethys joins the gathering quietly, her boot heels making soft clicks on the inexpensive bio-composite flooring of the modular structure. Everyone here so far knows her, so she simply nods in greeting.

"When you're ready, Baesal."

[Kellen Rist]

Another human joined the gathering. This one wore an extremely stylish and well-cut jacket and seemed rather well to do. He nodded to the assembled group of Jedi.

"Ah, hello there. I'm Kellen Rist. I have been working with Padawan Yil Kumos at the Alde Royal History Museum and she mentioned you had an interest in Killiks?"

[Baesal Zyn]

Baesal nods to Tehtys and to the newcomer who had entered. She figured she would wait for Galen and Breela to finish their conversation before starting

''Good evening Ser Rist. We do have an interest in killiks...for we seek a way to make peace with them.'' she sighed ''It won't be easy but the effort is worth it.''

[Breela Po]

"A little of both." he answered. "I don't think this will be easy."

"Never is," she grinned. Once the door was opened she nodded to Baesal and entered. Then to Tethys as well.

[Tethys Carrack]

Tethys glances at Baesal--it seemed like everyone was going to be left to make their own introductions. "Mr. Rist, hello. I'm Tethys." She extends an open hand for the typical Human handshake-greeting.

"These two are Galen Sol and Breela Po, both friends of the Jedi."

[Breela Po]

"These two are Galen Sol and Breela Po, both friends of the Jedi."

Breela had become lost in thought but immediately woke up at the mention of her name. "What? Oh, charmed! Nice to meet you!" She extends a hand to Kellen.

[Kellen Rist]

''Good evening Ser Rist. We do have an interest in killiks...for we seek a way to make peace with them.'' she sighed ''It won't be easy but the effort is worth it.''

"Oh very good. You won't be the first to have tried, but the effort is worthwhile, and appreciated." He nodded to the assembled group. It was good to hear that these Jedi were the peaceful kind. "I'm happy to help however I can."

Tethys glances at Baesal--it seemed like everyone was going to be left to make their own introductions. "Mr. Rist, hello. I'm Tethys." She extends an open hand for the typical Human handshake-greeting.

"These two are Galen Sol and Breela Po, both friends of the Jedi."

"Oh, it's a pleasure to meet you Tethys, Breela, Galen." He shook Tethys 'offered hand first. His grip was firm but not overly so, his skin perhaps rougher than expected. There was a twinkle in his eye as he added: "Professor Rist in fact, but please, call me Kellen." He smiled at Breela as well and shook her hand. "Likewise."

[Galen Sol]

Galen greeted everyone.

"The killik society is very interesting. I had an encounter with them this morning."

[Baesal Zyn]

Baesal motioned her guests to sit

''We should be execting a few more but we can start and fill them in later. Anyone wants tea?''

[Breela Po]

She shakes her head. While she had sobered up since the drinks at the party, any other liquids would be a bad idea.

[Omandri Rist]

Omandri followed his cousin to the meeting but had made a pit stop causing him to be a little late. He slipped in wordlessly and listened interested in the problem before them.

[Baesal Zyn]

Galen greeted everyone.

"The killik society is very interesting. I had an encounter with them this morning."

She nodded to the new arrival, recognized from Daz's holo feed, before turning to Galen

''Can you elaborate?''

[Galen Sol]

"I was poking for that Kath hound I told you about." he began. "I found a trail and followed it into killik territory, the hivelands. They found me and surrounded me quickly. They did not attack me and I was able to convey peace and friendship. They seemed to talk among themselves until a woman approached. I'm not sure what species she was, but I believe she was there to speak for the killik. She said they were Hive Kuvalz lriz and said I was of the Outsiders, the Killers of the Land and their Hive. They did not want me there, but said they were reasonable."

"We discussed the hound and I learned what I needed, but it was clear I wasn't welcome there." Galen continued. "They called me selfish, because I have no hive, and said I could not be trusted. They suggested I give them my skills, so that they could hunt the hound. I said I would not join them, so they said I had to leave and wait, while they considered my hunt."

[Baesal Zyn]

''That is fascinating'' she paused, musing ''The vase stolen from the museum this morning showed pictures of a time when the humans and killiks worked and lived together in peace, without joining. Thank you for sharing Galen."

Baesal put her datapad on the table and brought forth holographic projection

''For those who do not yet know, this is the vase that was found stolen this morning'' she brought up the pictures of the vase ''We tracked the thief but somebody got there before us and set his residence to blow. Those responsible might have captured the thief...and already killed and innocent.''

[Breela Po]

"That is interesting. Any leads we can pursue?"

"Also, I'm kind of ignorant about the Killik. Do we have any real notion as to the consequences of someone 'lending their skills', as it were? Or is that a one-way rabbit hole?"
