Alderaan - Love and Intrigue

An idea had been floating around of doing something more fun for the serving, rather than soup. Pancakes. Lots and lots of pancakes.

Some talking to people to get griddles, and then getting all the ingredients to combine...

There was now, for today(!!), an intergalactic house of pancakes-special on Alderaan to serve the people.

Now this was great and Jameela was here to help out.

A person arrived and said, "I am here to make pancakes and break hearts, and I ran out of hearts. Princess Jameela, master Jedi, shall we create pancakes to make the galaxy tremble with hunger?"

Galen manned a griddle, flipping pancakes in style.

"... Yes, sir," she bowed. "Are you experienced with pancake-making? I think I'll be better with handing out the plates myself."

Arsele wasn't here to make pancakes; Cooking was for nerds. She was here to eat pancakes. Depressed Arsele needed sugary cakes with plenty of butter on them and syrup. ...that was okay, no? She looked around for what was on offer.

Walking up to the line, Arsele grabbed a tray and a plate from the woman handing them out before going to the pancake maker.

She started for a moment when she saw who was making the pancakes at the moment, though she kept herself from saying anything, merely thrusting out her tray and plate.

Galen performed pancake flipping ricks for the children as they waited for their plates. It was fairly impressive, but it meant he had to work harder to get everything out. Getting spattered with batter and oil wasn't much fun for him, either.

Omandri had heard about the pancake breakfast idea and thought it sounded like a great idea. He showed up after a little early morning workout refreshed and ready to serve some pancakes to the masses

Pancakes? Again with the pastries? Though, they were not as complex by design as the previous batch from the other day. Really simplistic, good for children, even.
Looked rather simple, and he wasn't obligated to "make his own" like he did before, so why not.

Go help the children again, or something.

Gal at least seemed into it. Maybe that was something he could try. He did that, spun around as he did it and it landed with perfect ease, seamlessly into the pan. Hopefully he did it right. Wasn't sure if the tradition involved getting splattered like Gal did. Humans did like to get dirty, from what he heard about the mud pit yesterday. Should he splash himself with it to make sure the tradition was maintained?

Cynella had planned on a simple day of cooking her Kuati special pancakes (the wise would stop her soon), but the marvelous sight of this Chiss had completely distracted her. "Woah! How did you learn to do that? That's amazing, oh my gosh." If she emulated that style, then she'd be... like a cool Captain Kuat!

Kat was happy to let the experts handle the flipping of the pancakes, so instead she put her skills to use differently. And from having served those decorated bubble-waffle ice cream desserts the other day, she did that by making sure to sprinkle lots of fresh berries and fruits on top of the pancakes, as well as supplying each person with their choice of syrups, jams, and whipped cream to go along with it.

The skills of Galen and Nudimsu were really impressive to look at.

"No, no, you did it to perfection. More than perfection, really. Have you not made pancakes before? Because that'd make it even more impressive, truly!" She bowed a couple times for extra effect. "You know, I don't think I've seen you around yet! I feel like I would've recognized a Chiss, that is."

He shook his head at the question. "Never. I've never even eaten them before. I just watched others as they made them and picked up what looked right." He looked at her while he bowed oddly, trying to figure out if she considered him royalty for this. Did he become the King of Pancakes? No, that was absurd. As much as humans were strange in their customs, flipping a single pastry around would not grant him such a title so quickly.

Humans loved to overcomplicate things, so it was likely there would first need to be a bunch of talking and intrigue to establish it first.

He looked at her in a impressed manner. She actually knew her race. Only a handful of people seemed to even know what he was here, though that was mostly by design for his people. "Yes, well, I've done my best to ensure I haven't made any waves during this celebration. My name is Nudimsu, and thank you for the compliments to my innate pancake making abilities. Hopefully, it is not a fluke and I am able to repeat such skill with the others."

The masked individual made a short stack of pancakes for the woman and handed them off saying, “Please enjoy these, they are nearly everything one needs for a good morning.”

"You may just be a master at watching things and repeating them then," Cynella said. That or perhaps it was a Chiss thing. She couldn't be entirely sure; she'd only heard of them at one of those 'Potential Peoples Who Might Buy Our Starships' conferences she'd attended. Those were so long.

"Ah and I am Cynella Rhiannon Esmetrice Andrim, though Cynella works all the same." It always struck her as odd that Chiss never included an additional name. "Why would you not want to make any waves though? Surely you could impress more people during the festivities with your abilities."

She shook her head. "It'd be such a shame though if it was a fluke though. You must have greater faith that such a thing shall not happen!"

Nudimsu nodded. "Quite a large amount of names for a human to have. Do some of them depict your House and Rank like mine does?" He looked at her curiously. "But, to your question, Cynella, I feel that I can better help those within this festival by doing so, and to ensure that my actions do not interrupt the mating rituals for your royalty and lesser humans while I am here." He nodded while continuing his flipping. He wasn't even looking at the next flip, just did it naturally and timed it right while getting some more butter for the pan.

"Though, most importantly, I am trying to grasp the entire purpose of this festival, and many have helped me understand it a little more than I did coming in. Tell me, while you are here, how do you feel the psychological effects of this festival effects you and your biological need to procreate? Has it increased since the festival began?"

He noted her compliment and nodded his head. "I am merely only being realistic in my skills. I would like to think I can apply what I am able to do with what is around me and adapt to my surroundings, but that is not always the case. Practice and planning on this task will ensure that I can make efficient repeat efforts."
