Another Thranta question

For the Aggressive and Brutal stances, does "increases all strain losses for the thranta by X for that leg of the race" mean that actions that normally don't cost strain (i.e. We are One and Cold as Ice) now have a strain cost?

Like assuming brutal stance, would We are One and Cold as Ice cost 2 strain (instead of 0)?

Or alternatively, would the extra cost only apply for the abovementioned maneuvers if the Thranta would already suffer strain due to Threats?

Just realized I needed to start each leg with a basic stance, would it be possible to reorder, and roll my basic retroactively, keeping aggressive that follows?

Also, if you complete a leg ahead of time, the steps do not transfer to the next leg, correct?

I don't understand what do you mean reorder? and no extra steps are just wasted if you go over for a leg of the race.

You know, my absolute mistake as I reread the rules again, I was even more wrong.

So far I've rolled...

1) Swooping Dive, Leg 1
2) Swooping Dive, Leg 2
3) Swooping Dive, Leg 2
(Stopped rolling after)

When it should be

Basic Control first, then any of the others later.

May I have permission to scrap the previous rolls and start over again, please?

Start over and I amended the rules you don't have to use Basic Control, but you can only do the other actions once per leg, as in one successful check.

One more question about the race

For threat:
2 threat converts to one Setback; otherwise threat convert to Strain

If we get only 1 threat, could we choose to convert it to a setback instead? Or do we have to take the Strain?

Also shit, forgot to recode 1 of the difficulty dice to a challenge die here. Should I roll 1eC and you decide which one to replace?

EDIT 3 - Also re-reading things and I noticed I'm a bit confused on one thing. Your GM Destiny upgrades any one roll for Leg 3, and any one roll for Leg 4, is that it? So a total of 2 rolls? Or is it any one roll on Leg 3 or Leg 4?

Hang on… I think the Queen only took one GM Destiny upgrade in total, across both steps. I based my understanding of the rules on that—did I misunderstand something? Or does the Queen have a downgrade difficulty ability that I missed?

Hey DD. Sorry in advance for the mess here...

I ended up upgrading one die in Leg 3 and one in Leg 4, as per your answer. Also converted the threats to Strain, as you said.

So the one thing that remains are two rolls in which I coded the difficulty dice wrong.

One is the one I linked above, in which I forgot one difficulty upgrade (rolling 3eD instead of 2eD, 1eC). I really hoped I wouldn't have to reroll the whole thing as it was one of the two rolls in which I got a Triumph... So I rolled 1eC after the fact, assuming replacing one for the 3eD randomly (i.e. roll 1d3, take the equivalent die) would be okay, as it's literally the same thing probability-wise (just ignoring one of the eD randomly). So... would it be ok to replace one of the 3eD with the 1eC rolled instead so I don't lose that precious Triumph? Even replacing the 'better' result in the difficulty dice (1 threat) with the result of the Challenge die (2 threat) would be better than rerolling everything as it'd take away that Triumph... (and I've done the rest of the race taking that into account!)

Another roll I mistakenly rolled 3eC instead of 3eD. I just rerolled the 3eD and replaced them with the 3eD this time (and got the exact same result, 4 Threat). Again, probability-wise it's the same thing. Is that alright?

I don’t like being involved in dice rolls like this, I really dislike replacing dice with other dice because again I don’t want to be involved; if a dice needs to be added that’s simple.

The fairest thing I can offer is just reroll it, it sucks I am sorry but I don’t like swapping dice.
