Post-Apocalyptic Pool-Time (D8, ME)

After all the work after the fighting was over, Kat really felt she wanted to relax. But also be social. So she sent a message to Riss to suggest "poolside and drinks".

Wearing the same swimsuit as usual, she picked up a colorful drink with decorative fruit and a tiny parasol in it at the poolside bar. And found a comfortable place to lounge in the water with her fruity alcoholic beverage.

Kriff, this day...

[Riss]

Riss wore herself an elegant body shaping one-piece with a darker red colorful cloud sort of style to it. Something that made her stand out because the more attention she got, the less in her head she was about things. Which was exactly what she planned to be for the next couple of hours with Kat- out of her head. Of course, the day hadn't exactly allowed for that till now but so long as it kept her moving that's what mattered. Getting herself a similar colorful drink, a nice tiny parasol, Riss found her spot near Kat and came up to her side. Sitting on the edge she started with just getting her feet wet.

As rare as anything else, Riss' arrival was silent. Just soaking in Kat's presence as she took a long, slow sip of her drink near the woman's side.

With the straw in her mouth for a sip, Kat was drinking silently as she turned her head to look at Riss. There was a moment of quietness between the two women, until Kat spoke first.

"... Well, we made it through this day. Not anywhere near as bad as Coruscant. Thankfully." There was a brief smile in Riss' direction before she looked slightly to the side of her. "I'm glad you're here, Riss."

[Riss]

After a long sip Riss looks down to Kat, the briefest of smiles she puts a hand on her shoulder, "I.. am too. Think.. think I did good? Not really sure how things would have gone without me. Not- not really sure how well things went," she admits, a soft deflated chuckle as she looks out around the room. Plenty of people that were here, were most certainly here to forget their troubles. That or they just didn't care. Part of her hopes it was more of the former than the latter, gave her a small bit of hope to hang onto.

"Coruscant was bad.. but- kriff," she shakes her head. "I dunno.. this feels worse to me."

She sighed a little bit, her own expression distant in a way. "You and I remember Coruscant very differently. But... yeah, I can see how it's different for you." The straw was given a few chews before Kat took another sip.

"I kind of feel hope for the future here, at least. That Alderaan might somehow manage to grow stronger from this."

[Riss]

"Lanar will be back.." she says, giving her drink a stir with gentle stirs, rotations of made with a firm wrist. "Yulastranza should be a good fit for Ulgo and.. if I can, I'll try to have her back if she ever needs it. Didn't like her at first.." a smirk rises, "but she's.. grown on me," she chuckles, exhausted as she was it lacks the tone.

"Zeno Thul wants to meet with me in a couple hours and.. Kriff, everything's starting to feel like I've got something of a chance to help bring a few of these houses together in a sense? At least.. Rist? Ulgo? Thul? I- I think the Lanar can find good relations with them if I give it my best mm? Think I might try to talk to Yulastranza tomorrow.. let her know where I, and the Lanar, stand."

With the parasol between her fingers, Kat used the pointy end of it to pierce some of the drink's floating fruit-pieces and pop it in her mouth.

"Hmmm..." was her first reply, giving herself time to chew before speaking. "Cousin Yula is a good woman. A good person. Stars, I do not envy her this position at all, but... she'll have me and Brannis and Garth, at least, to help her out. I think she'll appriciate your support too." But right now she figured that Yula would need some time to digest all that had happened. Be with her mother first, before her cousins descended upon her to help.

Focusing back, she looked to Riss again. "You did good, and I think we're in a place where Alderaan can come together. Before Omandri and I met up with you, we were taking part in a peace summit between some of the Houses, those involved in this conspiracy, and... everyone seemed to be of the same mind. To put aside differences and strengthen Alderaan." Her smile grew a bit more. "Prince Gaul arranged for that summit."

[Riss]

"Prince Gaul.." she meandered around that thought a moment. Leg kicking through the water thoughtfully. Taking a nice, long sip, she worked herself into a headspace she craved. Leaning forward into her knee she looks to Kat, nearer her direct side leaning forward as she was. Both arms crossed over the knee, one hand hanging the other holding her glass.

"Seems the two of you are all.. nice and hooked up now, mm? Kiss for luck?" she teases.

"... Don't think I've ever been kissed for luck before," she said with a kind of goofy smile on her face as she was clearly thinking back to it. "I thought about asking him to join us here at the pool, but... you're more important right now, Riss." With that said, Kat reached over to Riss to take a hand in hers.

And he probably wants to be with the family he almost lost tonight.

"You're more important."

[Galen Sol]

He didn't drink very often, especially without Zanebry's influence. But, it had been a long day and Galen needed something to calm himself. He had managed to refresh and change, now wearing simple, casual clothing. The drink wasn't anything fancy. Whisky on the rocks.

[Riss]

"... Don't think I've ever been kissed for luck before," she said with a kind of goofy smile on her face as she was clearly thinking back to it. "I thought about asking him to join us here at the pool, but... you're more important right now, Riss." With that said, Kat reached over to Riss to take a hand in hers.

And he probably wants to be with the family he almost lost tonight.

"You're more important."

Riss wasn't sure what to say. Not at first. There was the overwhelming exhaustion to contend with, emotional and otherwise, and it all culminated in her actually hesitating pretty hard in a social situation for once. Ten seconds she sat there with her hand in Kat's before her eyes blinked back to a more present consciousness. Looking to Kat her eyes welled slightly, a warmth to her smile. Slipping down into the pool proper she's sure to place her drink off to the side of the pool. Sliding along the pools edge to completely envelop Kat into a hug which she had no intention of letting go from. Resting her head in the space between shoulder and neck, long pink hair not yet damp tickling along Kat's cheek, jaw, and a bit of her nose too.

Kat chuckled softly in response at first, and gave Riss the full-attention warm hug that she knew her friend needed after all she had been through the last 24 hours.

"Feeling better?" she asked after a little while, giving Riss an affectionate squeeze with her arms.

[Riss]

Voice muffled, "No," a second, two, "Yes," a slight shake of her head against Kat. "A little," she says, a little softer and a little more warm.

Her smile could be heard in her tone, "good." The hand that wasn't holding her drink stroked her back comfortingly.

"... You have to let us know when the queen will be bestowing your new title on you, hm? Gotta be there to witness your moment of glory."

[Riss]

Rising her head off of Kat she sniffles, a little shake of her head brings herself back. Looking to Kat she nods, "I will. Soon as I know, mm?" she says with a light smile.

"Do we get to see you in a fancy getup then?" she asked with a grin.

As she took a sip from her drink, Kat raised her hand and booped Riss on the nose.

[Riss]

Taking the boop on the nose there's a brief pause, a slight smile. Glancing down, briefly awkward, "I actually.. already put in the order for something. Jacket I wear? Kinda like that but.. nicer. Even worked in the family color, crest is on the inside cause I'm not that enamored with myself," she says, a soft but very brief laugh.
