[Day 2 - LA] Skeet Skeet Shooting

by Joran Panteer
Joran had the area partitioned off so that he and his friends could enjoy some target shooting in the gardens. They had target rifles and target drones and plenty of liquid courage for an enjoyable afternoon of shooting and revelry.

OOC: They can go basic with an Average Ranged Heavy (Agility) check or a Ranged Heavy (Agility ) check for an advanced target.

Prince Unther was more observer but he was having fun being around his brothers.

It had been too long.

Prince Gaul had made his first real appearance much to his mother's consternation and was drinking and egging on Joran to shoot straight.

Kat wasn't much of a sharpshooter, but she did enjoy seeing those skilled have a go at it.

At some point someone passed a rifle to her, and she found herself kind of socially pressed to at least put up an effort. "I was never much of a shot, but I'll do my best," she said, smiling a bit pleasantly before focusing to take aim.

The shot missed, but... well, maybe it impressed a bit anyway.

"I usually find myself more at the recieving end of blaster bolts than being the one delivering them."

Joran walked over and said, "Here let's try again... ease up on the grip and relax and don't pull the trigger, just lightly squeeze."

He definitely got behind her to help fix her form with a more hand's on approach before stepping back.

OOC: She can try again with a boost die if she likes.

If she were almost any other lady on Alderaan at this moment, Kat might have blushed or become flustered at His Royal Highness getting up in her personal space to personally give his assistance. Alas, Kat was a disciplined and calm woman, and remained cool as a cucumber through his guidance.

And the shot still missed.

She could only laugh at that and put the rifle away with a careful motion. "Thank you, your highness. It's clear that it takes more skill with a blaster than just pointing and shooting - perhaps I should simply practice more for the next outing."

"Joran, this is going on your permanent record. Can't even help an Ulgo shoot straight, tsk tsk," he teased.

Joran glanced at Gaul and then said to Kataryzna, "You did fine, master Jedi, just need more practice. Ignore my brother, I do and my life is better for it."

Cynella, in the meantime, lined up her shot without much of a fuss. "Huh! I suppose pistols and rifles have some transferrable skills after all." She glanced over to Joran, aiding the... Jedi? They hadn't really had a chance to be properly introduced.

But an Ulgo? That was exactly the opportunity she'd been hoping for. Wait, no, perhaps talks of business can wait until after this little bit of fun.

She ejected the power pack in her rifle and set it down before heading over. "Who's the better shot between you two gentlemen then, hm?"

Kat seemed a bit amused with her smile and bowed her head. "The fault lies more with the student than the teacher in this regard, your highness," she said with good humor, clearly not too worried about it.

"Thank you for the kind words." Though it was hard to ignore Gaul. Stupid sexy Gaul. "Though I try not to ignore people - as a Jedi I should be mindful of everyone, how I might best be of service to the Force."

Cynella's shot on the other hand was quite impressive, and Katarzyna gave a polite applause. "Quite the shot, my lady."

Zeno was a fan of some sport, so he showed up for the shoot. Besides, it would be a nice warmup for the bug hunt later. He readied his rifle and took aim, firing at one of the drones. The shot went wide and he tsked himself. "Damn."

Lowering his rifle for safety's sake, he watches and waits for another turn to give it a go.

Delmi took her turn shooting.

She fired off shots with skill and practice until the last target was thrown.

It looked as if it missed but she angled the shot off of a tree branch and knocked the target out of the air in mid flight with a smile.

“Was trying to do that.” She said with a laugh.

Ashlin was there with them, eyebrows raising at Delmi's shot. "Wow, nice!" After her own shot was less successful, she just laughed a little. "I might have to ask about lessons some time. I'm better on something crew-served... Which is kinda fitting when I think about it."

After watching a few participants take their shots, and thoroughly impressed by the showmanship Delmi had displayed, Jocasta decided to give it a go. "The majority of my training has been with pistols, but lets see how much carries over." She checked the target rifle and hefted its bulky form into place, unsure of how best to brace it. Opting for the basic target drone, Jocasta took a breath and took the shot.

While she didn't hit the target, she had come close. Clearing the rifle, she set it back down. "A little trickier than I thought it would be. I'll take my Lancer any day of the week." She says patting the blaster pistol holstered at her waist.

Having not found a Republic Shooting Range and also having expanded its role to defend all Republic and Jedi interests at the festival, found V1 at the Skeet shooting. It was disappointed to not have it's trusty DH-X with it for this shoot, but still called for the more difficult target. The unfamiliar rifle did not help with the miss.

"Wind deviation on target more than expected. Compensating."

The Droid got a nod of approval from Gil, no reason for a skilled shooter to aim at an easy target. Taking up his own target rifle, he raised it to his shoulder and shot one of the harder targets himself.

It was a clean shot and he nodded to himself pleased with it.

"Ah, I would be more appreciable of such praise on one of the harder targets." Cynella gave a bow, ignoring the raging blaster fire around them. It did make conversation a bit of a hassle, especially when it included so many darn names. "Cynella Rhiannon Esmetrice Andrim, though Cynella works all the same."

Kat was about to reply to Cynella when Gil showed a pretty amazing display of skill.

"My word. Masterful shooting, sir," she seemed even surprised, which was a rare sight on the Jedi.
