[D6 ME] Maze of the Heart

[Omandri Rist]

Breela and him hadn't had much of a chance to talk last night late as it was they both passed out pretty quickly after and he had to leave early in the morning. He had sent a message apologizing for his hasty retreat that morning and invited her to the hedge maze to walk around and chat a little, just to hang out.

He stood at the entrance to the maze flipping through a data pad going over something from earlier in the day while he waited.

The night passed as nights do between lovers. Then the morning found her alone with only a message. So naturally she was a bit nervous, but only a bit. The day had been too busy to stop and dwell; and she was content with where she was. So with a cheerful smile she walked up casually, "Hey you!"

[Omandri Rist]

He looked up to her stowing the data pad on the same motion "Oh hey you." He greeted her with his usual smile "sorry business pulled me away this morning." He said as he laid a hand on her hip and leaned down slightly to kiss her in greeting. "How has your day been?"

[Breela Po]

Her hands came up to his chest as she leaned in with a grin. "Not as busy as I expected," she said pulling away slightly, "still, I got a surprising amount of work done." Then in one motion she traced his chest and arms before threading his fingers with hers, "And you?" She teased warmly, "Must be a pretty special lady for her to pry you away from me after last night!" She snickered then gestured towards the maze, "Wanna see if we can find the center?"

[Omandri Rist]

He accepted her hand easily and started moving toward the maze. He chuckled a little at her statement "Nothing like that, honest. My cousin was dealing with some issues on Delaya and wanted to debrief about it. Some stuff about an artifact and some mandalorian mercenaries. Anyway headed to Delaya tomorrow to talk to a family contact there." He took a breath "So other than that and dealing with hunting down my sister who may be part of a Galactic conspiracy no nothing much." He said with a slightly tired but teasing grin.

[Breela Po]

"Sounds like you've been burning the other end of some of our stuff." She sighed, "Please be careful. This group isn't above blowing up buildings. I can't say much more other than... I've got business with them myself tomorrow." Turning a corner she thought, This is nice.

She pulls in closer as they continue through the maze.

[Omandri Rist]

Omandri nodded "yeah I've heard they are very dangerous, you becareful yourself now ok? I don't think those fists of fury are gonna save you from explosions either. If you need anything let me know, back up, medical aid, anything." He said smiling a little as they walked.

He doesn't resist the pull and hos easy smile stays on his lips as they walk through the maze.

"I will." She says softly.

As they meander through the maze eventually they come upon a place with a cool fountain and seating. "So listen..." She stops moving, "I'm not sure what's going to happen in the coming days." She looks him in the eyes, "But in case something happens. I just-" She looks away sheepishly, No, not that. Her resolve wavered. "I- I want you to know that I'm grateful to you. That's all." She keeps her eyes down. "I want us to stay friends no matter what happens."

[Omandri Rist]

Omandri stopped and watched her as she spoke, saw her break eye contact to look away "Of course Breela, I have no problem being your friend. Assuming we both make it out of this alive." He said with a small chuckle.

He paused and softened his voice a little "but you already knew that, is that all you meant to ask me?" He asked looking down at her.

[Breela Po]

How many battlefields have I been on? How many opponents have I squared off with? Yet this scares me?

"No..." She keeps her eyes down, "Do you want more from me?" She quivered a little, scared of the answer.

[Omandri Rist]

Omandri paused "I....don't know Breela." He said honestly after a few seconds "I think you're wonderful, smart, beautiful, fierce and to be frank O like to think we have a good time together." He said with a smile.

But the smile fell a little "but I dont know, I don't know if I can be what you're looking for. Honestly I haven't had time to really think about it between running around trying to keep my home together, trying to find my sister, dealing with ancient artifact. It's, it's been an insane week." He said with a heavy breath and a tired smile "if im honest I don't know what I want, I don't know if I'm in a place right now for more than friends."

He spoke softly with a small smile as he took her hand "maybe, maybe we worry about surviving the next few days and see where we both are, when we know there is a future. Until then we can hang out, have fun, be there for eachother in the mean time. If that works for you. If you're looking for more or thats not enough for you I understand one hundred percent. As I told you I'll always be your friend."

[Breela Po]

She slumped her shoulders crestfallen, "I... understand." She said still looking at the ground. "I- I shouldn't have asked, knew I shouldn't have asked. Because you're right. Now's not the time."

She used every ounce of strength she had in that moment to smile. "I don't know why I asked, maybe it's just the atmosphere of the festival getting to me... yeah." She let go of his hand and patted her pockets awkwardly, "Ohh, look I just remembered something." She said obviously retreating. "I'm going to get out of here." She quickly adds, "Be-cause I'm supposed to be meeting the other Jedi in... 30 minutes, yeah." She really is a bad liar.

[Omandri Rist]

Omandri smiled and suppressed a chuckle, no one likes being laughed at even if there is no judgement behind it "I won't chase you Breela but we both know you don't have anywhere to be." He said gently.

"If you need to go then please do but you can be honest about it. I am sorry if I hurt you, that was never my intention I promise. I am probably to blame, I think you've been looking for more but I've been so caught up in my own stuff I didn't notice. I'm sorry. Really." His body language was open but he made no move toward her.

"Please never apologize or think you did something wrong when you are just being honest with me. It is better we talk about it than not. We don't have to hash it out now, if you're not ready. I'm here for you though."

[Breela Po]

"Don't be silly," she said still smiling, "I just told you: wrong place, wrong time."

Not really hearing him she continues rambling, "Call me, or I'll call you? Maybe see you at the ball in a few days? Right now I've really got to go. Critical importance, break in the case. You know how it is." She feels her way along the hedge, "Like I said, it's just the festival, silly romantic atmosphere. No apology needed..." She turns the corner and her voice cracks, "I'm such an idiot..."
