His fingers interlaced with hers. A sensation of calm followed, as he gently squeezed her hand. She was right. His life was not over, far from it.

There was just so much conflict in his mind. But with her touch, the closeness of her. It all faded into the background.

"I believe you're right, Verash. And the now, right here? I wouldn't want to be anywhere else."

"Then just let go and enjoy," she said before leaning in for a kiss.

A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one. As she leaned in, he stepped into her, closing the gap. The kiss was tender, and genuine. His fingers still holding her hand. Eyes closed, the two alone in the maze of well tended shrubbery.

She danced to unheard music with him and rested her head on his chest, it felt safe at least for tonight.

Instinct took over. A hand came up as her head rested upon his chest. Gently against the small of her back, as he nestled his head against hers, swaying with her to the silent symphony.
