[Day 9 - EN] Running the Maze

[Dapper Dog]

The maze is decorated and despite some of the sobering mood from the previous day the tradition is still held and young lovers, and old lovers, and all couples are highly encouraged to run the maze. The Twins are there with substantial Honor Guard as they decide who they will run the maze with.

Couples tend to go and walk the maze together and ask for a blessing from the Saint, but there is very little running, more walking and relaxing and enjoying the romantic ambience of the moment. In the case of the Twins they decide on taking those that have impressed them the most among the field of suitors.

Jameela decides she will be escorted by Blai Frayus and Galen Sol while Joran decides he will be escorted by Riss Lanar and Jocasta Teraan; a most romantic or awkward time for them this evening.

[Galen Sol]

Galen arrived carrying small paper lanterns he'd found at a festival booth. One was handed to Jameela, one to Blai and he held the third.

"I know we have better lighting, but these felt appropriate."

[Riss]

Today, she was post sleep. Rested up. Having seen family and friends both healthy and whole. Even with Bryson's death, she could try to focus herself as best she could on enjoying tonight. In the past, she'd used this time to just find whoever she was wanting to hook up with at the time and well.. do what teens like her do. Tonight was different than those times, and far more than she'd quite prepared for but not one that was unwelcome. Dressing in something nicer, but appropriate for the tradition, she smiled at the being chosen and all too contentedly followed into step.

Arms up, stretching out, "This'll be interesting," she says, half-chuckle quickly following as her arms come back down.

[Jocasta Teraan]

She was nervous making her way to the maze. It had been an eventful day. Her little sister Cedonia had flown in earlier to help Jocasta get ready for tonight's festivities. In the end, they had decided on a traditional dress, classy and elegant, in Teraan greens and golds. She also carried a tactically obscured PED-21 personal distress beacon... just in case.

Turning the final corner, she came into view of the Royal entourage and paused a moment. Steeling her nerves, she advanced onward to her place.

[Niall Organa]

Running the maze was a tradition, for Alderaanians, for Niall himself, and for him and Aly as a couple. It hadn't ceased when the planet had been under Sith invasion. Why should it cease after a failed coup attempt?

And so, arm in arm with his wife, Niall slowly walked the maze; definitely not running. He wore his formals, of course, cape and all, and sidearm underneath. But some of the strain that had lined his handsome features the last few days seemed to have vanished. The worst was over, after all.

For now, anyway. There was always more. Niall sighed softly.

Joran smiled and said to Riss and Jocasta, "Shall we?"

[Riss]

Riss would glance to Jocasta, offer a brief conspiratorial smile, and then glance to Joran. As she says, "Lead the way, Jo," she would place herself on one of his arms. Settling in comfortably. With that conspiratorial glance and smile before suggesting the same of Jocasta.

[Niall Organa]

Hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder, Niall's beautiful wife and resident Jedi Princess walked alongside him. "Last year...I thought we would never recapture the magic. But, somehow..it still feels as magical as that time." She placed a small kiss on his lips.

Niall's eyes closed as their lips met. Yes, there were many reasons why they had to take this walk slowly.

"It does." Niall said, smiling. "A whole year. And it seems like it was just yesterday." He sighed again. "Both times, there had been fighting the day before. But even then, we had a day of calm. Today... I dare to hope that the calm might me longer."

He gave her hand a squeeze. "You okay? All recovered?"

Niall's eyes closed as their lips met. Yes, there were many reasons why they had to take this walk slowly.

"It does." Niall said, smiling. "A whole year. And it seems like it was just yesterday." He sighed again. "Both times, there had been fighting the day before. But even then, we had a day of calm. Today... I dare to hope that the calm might me longer."

He gave her hand a squeeze. "You okay? All recovered?"

Aly smiled, resting her head on his shoulders. "Yes...though now, at this rate, I dread what will wait for us on our anniversary." She let out a sigh. "Mostly okay. Still sore a bit, but otherwise okay. Just glad no one is seriously injured."

She looked up at him. You okay?"

[Jocasta Teraan]

Taking Riss's hint, Jocasta steps to Prince Joran's other side to take his arm, giving a friendly smile to both the Prince and to Riss on her way. "Let's see what adventures the night brings us."

[Garth Wayne Ulgo]

Garth stood out the front of the maze. Dressed head to toe in his Navy uniform - he'd even polished his shoes - he was daydreaming as he waited for a special someone to arrive.

“Thank you both, I know this might seem a little awkward but you both have really affected me over this festival, and I really could not decide who would be best to go with and here we are,” he joked.

“But seriously, I am really impressed with you both.”

Garth stood out the front of the maze. Dressed head to toe in his Navy uniform - he'd even polished his shoes - he was daydreaming as he waited for a special someone to arrive.

Miyi arrived with a wave in her ADF uniform and said, “Hey Garth, looking good.”

[Jocasta Teraan]

“Thank you both, I know this might seem a little awkward but you both have really affected me over this festival, and I really could not decide who would be best to go with and here we are,” he joked.

“But seriously, I am really impressed with you both.”

"It is an honor to be here in your company Prince Joran, you have made quite an impression on me as well."

[Garth Wayne Ulgo]

Miyi arrived with a wave in her ADF uniform and said, “Hey Garth, looking good.”

Garth's face lights up at her arrival. It had only been two days, but it felt an age longer after what had transpired.

"What, this ol' thing?" He jokes as he pirouettes in front of her. When he stops spinning, one hand holds out a single rose. "Ah b'lieve it's tradition t' wait for the rest until tomorrow, yes?"

[Riss]

“Thank you both, I know this might seem a little awkward but you both have really affected me over this festival, and I really could not decide who would be best to go with and here we are,” he joked.

“But seriously, I am really impressed with you both.”

Riss waits a moment for Jocasta, and then adds, "I'm fine with it," she comments passively. Happy enough to give an eye toward the outer wall, which let her lean her head against his shoulder a bit, "Considering everything it's a nice night to just escape it all for a few minutes, mm? I'm just glad your family's safe after everything so this can actually be.. a little more enjoyable," she chuckles lightly, some edge to it but masked enough by the atmosphere.

Bran had finally crashed, slept passably well for what had happened, and decided to torture himself by visiting the hedge maze during the traditional running. He had donned his usual parliamentary wear, respectable if not especially comfortable for this sort of setting, but as deep in his own thoughts as he was, what difference would comfort make?

He was effectively lurking off to the side from the maze entrance and exit, trying not to be noticed while he swung wildly between smiling - at the sight of folks who'd gotten back to happiness so quickly - and frowning - at all of what he'd thought might be happening now that isn't.
