Gaul sat and absorbed the words and then said to the statue, "Well, you win this round Saint."

"Eight or ninth time is the charm?" she said with a small snicker and returned the empty glass to the droid that seemed to have an instinct for knowing when to deliver wine and when to pick up empty glasses.

"You're not a bad guy, Gaul. Sure, you made mistakes, but you don't mean to be cruel about them. We all make mistakes... all about how we get up again from them, right?" Kat looked him over. "You've had a lot to drink, do you need help back to your quarters?"

"I am a Panteer, walking around tipsy is a skill," he said with a grin. "But seriously I am fine, I just needed sobering Jedi logic to clear my head. Sobering Jedi logic, and my natural inclination to be a hopeless romantic."

"You know the story right, behind the statue... I assume so as an Ulgo?"

"Sobering Jedi logic. If only it worked on everyone." She said with amusement.

At his words, she looked up at the statue. "It's to commemorate the Alde queen who married a common-born man, no? I admit the story was not one heard often in my education, so... do enlighten this Jedi, your highness. I might be a romantic at heart too."

“Well Mother and father told it to me like this, the Queen was trying to unite Alderaan and although a military leader recognized that more bloodshed was not what Alderaan needed. So relied upon her closest advisors and people of quality to reach out to the Houses and explain to them what the future could be. Although her husband to be was common born he was noble of spirit and handsome, and believed in the Queen’s mission.”

“He championed her cause and was able to get the Houses to agree to her plan and set aside their fighting, Queen Hileen Alde in turn gifted the man with her hand, Mother never emphasized the romantic while father always added a more romantic flair to the thing with the crown of flowers and long gazes. Mother was more straight to the point about the affair. Anyway, they wed, someone builds a statue, and then we skip ahead a few years and Alderaan explodes into conflict.”

“Guess my point that I always took away is that one man, or woman or person, can make a difference if they have the heart to try,” he finished.

Kat listened, her attention on Gaul as he told the story, and then looking up at the statue as he finished it.

"... That is a good philosophy to take away from the story. We all have the power to make a difference in life, if we put our hearts to it." She sighed a bit. "The conflict though. Yeah, that's what we have on hand now. A good mixture of people thinking they know what's best and damn what others think, and people who just want more power no matter the cost."

"But, we have good people. Like you and your brother. I have trust that you both will help Alderaan."

"With a little help from our Jedi allies, of course," he said to Kataryzna. "Something, something... Republic united, I don't have my speech writer with me."

"Plus the focus group, PR... it takes a literal village, but you get the point."

Kat laughed a little. "Yeah... yeah, it takes a village. Well, you have my lightsaber, prince Gault, to uphold and protect the peace," she said with a touch of ceremony and seriousness, but she still kept a smile to her features.

"... I should probably think about heading back though. It's been a long day, and there is much more awaiting in the morning. But you seem to be feeling better now?"

“Well the Jedi are not only defenders of the peace but also famous mediators, and for me their role as peacemakers is often their most important. Jedi Knights are as the Prince of Ya Boi stated, whizz; but Jedi working to ensure peace through diplomacy and negotiation are my heroes,” he said.

“And that is why I don’t write my own speeches anymore.”

He rose and said offering his arm in a gentlemanly manner, “As a gentleman of House Panteer, it behooves me to escort a young guest to their domicile and assure they arrive safely.”

"Now you sound like Padawan Daz," she said, chuckling. "But I shall have to work harder then, to be considered a hero."

A moment of thought, then she took the offered arm. "Thank you. I'm not sure what dangers there would be for a Jedi Knight, but the company is appriciated."

"In truth, I am the damsel," he replied before leading her back to her abode.

"I'll make sure you stay safe from distress then, your highness," she said with that unshakable Jedi confidence.
