(D1 LM) Love or Duty?

Cynella approached the Shrine of the Saint with every intention of giving her prayer to win over the heart of the good prince or princess. However, as she crossed her arms (in an X) and dipped her head, she had to wonder: was this what she wanted?
Perhaps this was this Force nonsense bringing such doubt into her head. She shook her head and released her prayer with a giant stretch. I wonder what they have for lunch around here... need to watch my weight though.

A deep rumbling voice accompanied by the soft whir of repulsors.
"Beautiful, isn't she?"

"Oh! Oh goodness, you startled me." She turned about to be even more surprised. Something about weight, was it? "She is lovely, yes. What a lucky lady I would have been to have met her."

The huge figure of Keyhote looms, although the Hutt appears to be....well at the very least his eyes are watering as he regards the statue.
"Apologies fair lady, I understand the sheer presence of my chivalry can be overwhelming for the lower species."
A higher pitched voice from behind the hutt "And you nearly ran her over"
"Nonsense Pantha, I am socially distancing appropriately."
Focusing back on Cynella "May I ask what it is you prayed for?"

Cynella was beyond willing to make way for a Hutt's approach. She even was willing to let the 'lesser species' thing slide, if only to not cause more of a scene. "I'd say the real thing is more worth your time and, well, Alderaan is full of that right now," she said with a wink. "As for my prayers, I am but a wayfaring noblewoman seeking to win the heart of the royal prince and/or princess of this fair planet!"
Surely this Hutt wasn't planning on it too... but that'd surely be a sight to see.

"Ahhhhh."
From Sando "Oh shit"
Looming intensifies"So you, a woman of noble breeding have journeyed far to win the heart of a royal here, at the festival of love?"

"Breeding? On Kuat, we tend to use the term pedigree." Cynella was fully unaware that that could also be used in a, well, dehumanizing context. "Kuat is not so far, relatively speaking, though you are otherwise correct! Though I admit, I am not so sure what either of them are like beyond some peripheral information..."

"It is a noble quest. I am here on a related pilgrimage."
Keyhote crosses his arms
"Pantha, introduce me"
Pantha sighs: "You are addressing his excellency, the chivalrous one, scion of the Desilijic cartel, saviour of Endor. his bulkiness. ordained marriage celebrant and hero, Keyhote of the Desilijic."
Keyhote bows.

'Related pilgrimage?' Perhaps he really was going to attempt to seduce the prince and/or princess. He certainly had an impressive servant following him around. Maybe she needed to get one in return to announce her. "And I am Cynella Rhiannon Esmetrice Andrim, though Cynella is perfectly suitable," she said as she'd said countless times before. Could a squire match her efficiency in that delivery?
She, of course, returned the bow. "A pleasure to meet you."

"And you may address me as 'Keyhote', I do not stand on ceremony."
Remarked the floating creature
"Now Cynella, I have a question for you. Pantha here will take notes."
The squire sighs as the Hutt continues
"What does love...mean to you?"

Cynella opened her mouth then shut it for some more deliberation. It wouldn't do right to do love injustice in the saint's presence. "Love, and I'm going to assume you mean romantic love due to context, is a bond between people that goes beyond mere understanding or loyalty. While that does not always ensure harmony, at the end of the day, it survives, no, thrives even."
She had her parents to thank for that perspective.

"Mmmmhm"
Deeep vibrations emanate from the hutt
"For you love is the deepest bond? Not an uncommon perspective. How then Cynella would you know you had developed this bond with another?"

"I assume I'll just... know." Cynella smiled meekly. "I can't say I've fallen in love before, despite prior attempts. Perhaps the sparks will start once I meet some of the royal heirs. But, realistically speaking, I imagine it's a long process."

He tuts
"It can be complicated. But still, you have been honest which is a good sign."
Continuing on blithely
"Why would someone want to love you?"

"Honest?" Cynella smiled ruefully. "I suppose I am speaking from the heart. However, I feel as if I'm not completely candid with you. There's so much I left out, not purposefully, but because it didn't exactly come up." She tapped her lips, wondering how aware Keyhote was of Kuati politics. "While I do have hopes that I will be happy with the prince or princess, the idea was not my own. My parents wish for me to find a suitable partner among any of the Alderaanian nobility. So, in a way, I could find love among any other suitor here.
"That being said, I do not wish to discount myself. Why someone would love me is simple enough to me. At risk of sounding arrogant, I know I'm beautiful. I exercise regularly, ensuring I'm in good health for a long life or if battle becomes necessary." She let out an awkward laugh. "That all sounds so shallow. I suppose I like to think myself as... patient. Willing to compromise, that sort of thing. I truly believe my future spouse will be lucky to have me."

The Hutt's eyes squint
"Well, I have had trouble determining human beauty in the past. Without a good tail or proper bulk..."
he shrugs "Still, healthiness is a positive trait, as is being patient. But, you left out one further trait you clearly possess in abundance."
Sando: "...Hair?"
"What? No, she has remarkable self-confidence. Many of the great wooers of the past have possessed the same."
Keyhote mulls this over
"Would you float with me for a few moments?"
He gestures to the path around the shrine.

"I wouldn't say I have that much hair," Cynella said, more-so thinking about her body. Then again, shaving was a constant hassle. Maybe I should consider letting my leg hair grow out sometime... though certainly not now.
"I'm afraid I am unable to float nor do I have the means. That being said, I would be honored to accompany you." Might as well get some steps in herself. Plus best not to get on a Hutt's bad side. Why was she humoring him so much again?

"More hair than me. Few Hutts are cursed with hair, it is considered a freakish mutation amongst my people."
Keyhote floats slowly along the path, occasionally right over a bench
"Hmmm....Lady Cynella I have sworn to support and foster love wherever it can be found. And Alderaan in this season appears to be a great source of it. Your cause seems a romantic one and your manners are not unpleasant. Still, I cannot say if you are a true proponent of love or not. Instead I will propose this. Should you find a suitor you feel the beginnings of a deep bond with, and they with you. Then know I will do my knightly duty to support such a union."

Hair on Hutt. Now that was a sight for the mind's eye.
"Oh my. I don't know what I did to earn such devotion." It seemed a little much from such a quick conversation, at least to her. "I cannot say I've met many suitors at all! It's my second day on the planet, though last night might not count." She pursed her lips. "There was one man who was pleasant enough company, though I think he may have been too intimidated by my presence to be a proper match. It just wouldn't do to completely overshadow my partner in confidence."

"The devotion is merely to my cause. My quest continues, always. Besides, there are only so many chivalrous suitors with a chance of finding the right match. Should you fail to find love."
Keyhote shrugs
"Then it is no great failing, although given your limited lifespans I would encourage vigorous romance where possible. The man does not seem like a good partner, it is hard to love someone who intimidates and overshadows. Although Pantha tells me some people like that."
