[Day 3, LE] Life Lessons

Things were getting complicated. He had told himself that it was all just a fantasy, a romantic idea in his head that meant little to anyone else. That was probably still true, but the idea was still there. Galen was not in his environment. He had no experience with politics or princesses or romance, other than killing a lover's husband so she could take over his territory. This was entirely different and he had no idea what to do.
He did know someone who might.
Sitting down next to the statue, he took out the holocron. He wasn't sure if the knowledge it held would cover this type of thing, but the stories Yulu Kess always told did.

The image of the long bearded Yulu Kess appeared and said, “Greetings Galen, have we found ourselves in the spot of trouble? Perhaps a chance to test our resolve and engage in some derring do. This seems a far cry better than your last locale.
“No matter how can this most un-humble Jedi assist you?”
OOC: I remember that love story, boy meets girl, boy kills girl's lover, girl becomes crime boss.

"What do you know about Alderaanian courtship?" he asked. "I've probably gotten myself involved in something I shouldn't have, again."

“Well, it’s rather straight forward actually, your noble family finds a noble of comparable status and then they form a contract and then they get married and have noble children. Congratulations, I wasn’t even aware you were of nobility. I wonder what other dark secrets you harbor,” the holocron gatekeeper responded.

"That's the problem, Yulu. I'm not." he sighed. "It seems unlikely, at least. I was a slave and I have no memories of my parents."

"Well that does pose a problem, might want to explain your situation," the gatekeeper.

"I'm at the Festival of a Thousand Flowers. Prince Joran and Princess Jameela are both being courted by a number of suitors, while it's unclear who would succeed the queen." he explained. "My primary concern here is a mutated pack of kath hounds that have been killing people. But, I decided to attend the festival and try to learn a little about social decorum in high society."
"That's how I've crossed paths with the princess. I had no intention of pursuing anything, but there's something about her that's kept drawing me back. I dedicated a poem to her yesterday. It wasn't that good, but it made my interest clear enough. I was asked about her in an interview today, which confirmed my admiration of her. I don't know if she favors me at all, though I think she may, but I've become much more involved in all of this than I intended."

"Well then what seems to be the problem if you think she favors you, continue what you are doing. Or are you afraid you will make a mistake?" he responded.

"I'm not used to this type of thing." he sighed. "I'm more comfortable with animals than people. The few relationships I've had were not romances and they did not end well."

"Well... I don't have much luck with loving animals, is that legal on Alderaan? Never mind, sentient women... well first off catching their eye is important. Next is to speak with them get to know them, and try not to treat them like objects. Respect them," he responded.
"Oh and gifts help."

He nodded. "I'll see what I can find. But, I'm not a suitor the queen would acknowledge. Should that concern me?"

"Love prevails my young student, throw yourself into this matter with passion, proper passion," Yulo replied.
"Life is short and the Force connects us all, and love is the greatest connection."

He smiled. "Thank you, Yulu Kess. I wish I could have met you sooner."

“If my words can give you some guidance then my purpose is fulfilled. Just be confident, not arrogant, boy, but confident in who you are and what you are capable. Be your own person, and not don’t just be nice, be you. Nice is not a personality, lad, it’s the bare minimum we expect from other sentients,” he responded.
“Maybe get some nice clothes.”

"I will do my best." he nodded. "Next time, we'll work on my lightsabre form."

"I know."
He deactivated the holocron and put it away. Turning around, he looked up at the statue.
"I suppose it couldn't hurt."
Kissing the feet of the saint, he rose to his feet and departed.
