Alderaan - Love and Intrigue

It had been... a day.

A day that had started before the saint, and now ending in the same spot. It was a pattern Kat found interesting to think of as she knelt before the statue. "Thank you. For looking after Alderaan, your majesty." For a moment, she remained there in silence with a hand over her heart. Which still felt warm and fluttery, despite all that had happened today.

It was a day of great sadness, of loss, of pain. But for her personally, it had been also a turn of emotions, and giving a different perspective. And with that in mind, she leaned down and kissed the saint's feet.

"Wish me luck, your majesty."

“Excuse me, master Jedi, I have need of this proverbial saint,” Jerri said as he waited in queue. Assuming she finished he gently cleaned the feet and then sterilized it and cleaned again and then kissed the feet and said, “Madam, I have found my muse.”

"Oh of course."

A bit surprised that someone else was here, Kat quickly stepped aside to allow the other worshipper to take his place.

She stood calmly and looked up at the statue until Jerri spoke again. "Your... muse?" Oh no, didn't Zeno say he writes Jedi smut or something? I really hope he doesn't mean me. "What fortune for you then, sir. On a day like today."

"It was a dark day indeed, but my example made Bouris stand down, with words not swords," he said proudly.

"Is that so?" she was a little surprised, but saw no reason to distrust him. Well, she knew what had made Bouris stand down in the end, she was there, but she could believe that the example of others had contributed to it.

"Then I'm grateful for your courage, in standing up to someone like him. Thank you." Kat bowed her head to Jerri in gratitude.

"No thanks need master Jedi, I did what every Alderaan should do under times of duress when our nation is threatened with tyranny," he said proudly.

"You are welcome for my service."

"Thanks..." huh?

"So... your muse? Someone among those who faced down the duke, perhaps?"

"Why yes, I believe her name is Jedi Knight Hoshin, a bit of a poseur but she has heart and gumption," he admitted.

If Kat had been eating or drinking, she probably would've choked. As it was, it was just a brief moment of choking on her own breath.

"... Knight Hoshin? Layne Hoshin?" she said, surprised. "I... am surprised. But I suppose inspiration can come from the most unexpected places sometimes."

"Yes, she leaves you breathless, just like me," he said proudly. "I am not sold on her mimicking Vera Hawke's saber, but she has a strong constitution."

"She certainly does..."

Kat wasn't sure how much she should extoll the virtues of her fellow knight, or just keep her mouth closed to possible save Layne from becoming a smut-heroine.

"I'm sure she will be very surprised to hear she is your muse."

"I told her, and now I must gather flowers to crown her," he said proudly. "I do not enjoy such base labor, but it is tradition."
