Alderaan - Love and Intrigue

The morning light removed a certain 'horror' element from the scene but left something perhaps worse. She had touched the mind of the hive for a brief moment...She thought she was beginning to understand.

She observed the deaf drones, the dying and the dead, sitted on the floor of her truck while drinking a cup of instacaff

''By the force''

She felt a degree of emptiness

Once more she tryed to sense the drones but the pain was still harrowing her concentration

She stood up instead and walked over to one of the handful still alive

Another visited, wanting to ensure the hive was actually done and wouldn't threaten Syrush anymore. A transport of house Thul pulled up and Zeno stepped out.

Noticing his old classmate, he mentally prepared himself for either a scolding or being ignored. And so he approached.

Breela stood nearby with a thermos of caf in hand. Easily the worst night she had had in some time.

"Well, well," she said under her breath, "a lot of dots just connected."

Baesal busied herself doing both basic and advanced cognitive tests on the confused drones to see if they would react to anything. She event poked them with a stick a couple of time.

''Hmmm...Breela can I ask you to see if you can herd the drones to the truck?''

At that moment she noticed the Thul shuttle and the man who dropped off

She rolled her eyes ''Oh great''

He waved to Baesal. "I hadn't been expecting all of this," he says, not seeming happy or sad by the results. "Ashlin's device was... effective."

She put her hands on her hips

Why was she not surprised?

''So you had a hand in this...I am shocked'' she shakes her head ''What do you want Zeno?''

She looked at Baesal, "Ashlin?"

Azura hadn't liked how things were left the previous night. It was messy, and she felt it was gonna get worse. However she wasn't able to come back the same night with the package issue, so she planned first thing in the morning. Amusuingly, it seemed one of the guys from the previous trip had also thought the same, so she managed to hitch a ride out with Zeno.

Zeno was first out, as Azura made sure to doublecheck her weapons before leaving in case they walked into some kinda bloodbath.

"Kriff it stinks here" She commented as she made her way over, pausing as others were around.

"Oh, huh. Didn't think this would be a show."

She looked at Baesal, "Ashlin?"

She shrugged, indicating she did not know who that was

Then...Azura came in.

The frowning intensified

He nods at Baesal and her frown. "Yes, I'm sure you're unhappy with this. I actually wasn't expecting it to happen at all. I honestly thought the sonic emitters would scare them off, not drive them crazy."

''They were not driven crazy'' she replied, keeping her cool but with her jaw slightly clenching ''They were essentially tortured to insanity.''

"Huh. Really?"

Azura frowned slightly.

"Seems a little far. Would have been better to just kill them."

The declaration silenced Baesal for a second, she could not believe that woman

''It would have been better to keep them alive'' she replied ''Have you no conscience?''

He nods to Mora. "Agreed. I will have to let Ashlin know so that she can make adjustments. Repeating that would be unnecessary."

Zeno moves to one of the drones in a non-threatening manner. Once he gets into range he opens his mind to the pain they are feeling, wondering just how bad it was.

''It would have been better to keep them alive'' she replied ''Have you no conscience?''

Azura shrugged.

"From what I understand they did some pretty bad stuff too with the joiners an' stuff. Also they were hyper aggressive. Doubt talkin' to 'em was gonna be a plan. Not my issue, I just came to help."

Zeno feels nothing, an absence of any emotion... null, there is nothing.

"There is nothing present anymore," he says. "It is emotional void now."

He moves back. "With how they reacted immediately following the deployment, they either cut themselves off from the hive to ease their pain if that's possible, or it simply broke them completely."

"Hey now, I didn't actually draw a weapon. From what I remember it was the Jedi that drew a weapon an' the woman using the emitter was gonna startle or disrupt 'em. Idea was to scare 'em out an' if they fought back then fightin' happens. Even I think the emitter was too far if it tortured 'em" Azura frowned "blame the planners."

"They kidnapped and enslaved citizens of Alderaan. I don't feel bad about fighting such a threat. I do consider this particular result unnecessarily cruel," he says with a shrug.

"And don't worry Azura. To some people you are guilty by association so defending yourself is probably useless. It was just a field test gone wrong and we'll have Ashlin fix it."
