Alderaan - Love and Intrigue

As safehouses went, it was... average. Which meant that in a lot of ways it was terrible. Bleak furnishings, drab colors, a bit more mold than places Niall usually frequented. But, well, it would suit their purposes.

With blinds closed, and guarded by his troops, all Republic Mandalorian, and if they didn't value honor more than pay their comrades would probably kill them, it was as safe as they could get.

Time for a conversation.

Wren was present for support, but she let Niall take the lead.

Now freed of her role the woman was more confident and focused. She sat at the table and adopted a more relaxed posture. She said, “Look, I am just a freelancer, I am not even from Alderaan, I got hired to do a job and I did it well. I will gladly cooperate but I want Immunity, and at this point probably a new face. You trust this security?”

“Also got a cig?”

Tethys is here, ears a little buzzy from the stimpack she had applied on their way out of the cafe, but otherwise fit for duty. She'd stuck some synthskin over the blaster burn on her shoulder, but hadn't gone out of her way to get hold of a change of clothes, so there is still a ragged burn in her robe and the shirt underneath, a visible reminder that she'd just been shot on Hyta's behalf. Jedi are allowed to have a sense of drama too.

"I think you're misapprehending the situation somewhat here, Ms. Jung," she points out dryly. "Your co-conspirators are clearly done with you. At this point you need our help more than we need you. If you don't work with us, we lose one lead. You stand to lose... a lot more than that."

She shrugs, then winces faintly. Ow. Oops.

"You wouldn't waste money on a keeping me in a safe house if I didn't have something of value, so I think we can find an agreement that works for both of us, eh master Jedi? Look I am willing to cooperate, but I am just trying to make sure that I leave Alderaan and not in binders or a body bag? Neither is a good option for me," she responded.

"Also anyone got a cig?"

Aly joined the group, observing the woman. "Not sure we have any smokers here." She tilted her head, watching closely, trying to sense her thoughts.

Can I use Triumph to glean some specific info she might be able to provide?

She waits for any questioning.

OOC: It catches surface thoughts and emotions, she wants money and freedom and is very mercenary her loyalty is bought with creds unless she finds better deal. She is craving a cig too.

"A cig, eh?" She smiled widely.

"Something can be arranged, but well, first." She crossed her arms. "We need something first. I mean, we need to know that your info is good before we offer you anything. No one wants a bad deal here."

"What would you like to know?" she offered. "I only have online handles, and records of my operations, but that might be useful to you."

Delmi had followed Niall to the safe house and was present.

She stepped forward. Without providing context she asked, “This morning when you said ‘make her bleed’… Who were you referring to?”

She watched carefully to see the woman’s reaction, trying to identify if she knew what Delmi was talking about.

"Gonna need context, is this a panel of interrogators? Might get a little confusing for me, but hey whatever rocks your ship," she responded.

“You know I am flattered to have so many people following my work. Just means I really struck a chord,” she said honestly. The woman turned to Niall and said, “I am going to have to remember that, this may have been my best job yet, performance wise. Until I got arrested, which… where are we at on that Immunity? I really don’t agree with prisons.”

She turned back to Delmi and said, “Basic inflammatory speech to get the mob riled up to do some damage to the crown, standard stuff. Call to arms, blame your problems on the powerful or the vulnerable, standard psychological warfare stuff. I would have thought Alderaan would be difficult, but no… you people have a lot of problems.”

Layne had helped escort the prisoner to the safehouse of course. She mostly let the others take the lead on interrogation though. Something she *should* be doing more often but... well... that was a problem for future Layne to concern herself with.

So she just stood in the corner, looking her usual menacing self.

“That’s not an answer.” Delmi replied.

She looked at the woman and tilted her head.

“I see you’re worried about immunity… These nice folks may end up arranging something like that for you… But in this little scenario we’ve got ‘Good Cop’” She points to Niall.

“Jedi cops.” She nods her head to the Jedi.

“And I suppose I’m the ‘bad cop’. Now I can’t go and hurt you here so I’m gonna have to change my approach. As the ‘bad cop’ I should let you know how the ‘bad’ people think. The people you should be afraid of are the ones who you were working with who think you have information that could damage them…”

She paused, “There’s no immunity in the Galaxy that will protect you from them if they think you’re a loose end. I can tell you how they think… Right now what you don’t tell us is a threat to them. Silencing you before you tell us has operational value for them. But… if you tell us everything and we make it publicly known, your value to them… and the damage you can cause them… diminishes greatly. They still may hunt you down in retribution one day… but in the cost analysis of taking you out, you stand a better chance of escaping immediate death if you tell us everything.”

She tilted her head, “They already assessed you of not being necessary to their aims when they handed me your information. We’re your only shot at living…”

She then asked again, “So… was it you in that voice chat this morning with SithSuck69 and that potentially dangerous woman?”

"That's what I just said, but I can slow it down for you, yes-that-was-me," she said to Delmi, finishing in a staccato manner. "How about that cig?"

“Your plan then. Killing the Queen’s children? Details.” She replied coldly.

"We're good." Niall said evenly, raising a hand. "So long as you make me happy with the deal. Immunity for all crimes committed on Alderaan in exchange for information. That means I require a great deal of information to even things out."

He smiled. "I rather expect that a skilled slicer like you will have something on our employers. Perhaps a little insurance for just this sort of situation? So I'm very much hoping not to hear 'I didn't ask questions', or anything like that."

He shifted, clearing his throat, glancing at Delmi.
