Succession

[Dapper Dog]

Succession is an important matter among House Panteer and currently the anointed heir is Gual Panteer but many within the family are clamoring for it to be one of the twins after the stunt Gaul pulled.

Players will have a hand in the selection via a series of polls. There will be three total polls with the choices for succession. At the end of the first poll the lowest choice is removed from the running and the next poll will have those that are left. So we will start with four choices, and then three choices, and then two choices narrowed down to a single chosen heir.

This is a more behind the scenes element so voting in the polls is the only way to affect this aspect of the game.

Prince Unther Panteer
A military hero, Unther Panteer is the middle child of the Panteer royal family an adopted son, his mother was a high associate of the House and favored by Queen Solara. Her death, along with her husband made Unther into an orphan which led to Solara adopting him and raising him as her own. He was never made by her to feel different but he always knew he was the odd man out, even so, he loves his family and is dedicated to Panteer. Older than the twins by about five years, he is already married to a scion of House Rist and serves as Captain of the Royal Guard.

Unther is of a lithe build, although in recent years he has put on a little weight it isn’t anything that detracts from his aesthetic. He is observant and competent at his job and takes the protection of the family very seriously. He has no ambitions to rise any higher than he is and is firmly in support of whomever his mother chooses as the next heir to the royal House. He gets along well with the twins and his elder brother but tends to keep to himself and in private spends his time with his wife and son, Vennius, who is approaching three now. He is very solidly a family man and his wife was a match of love, not noble obligation.

[Joran Panteer]

Joran is a military man, he prefers martial pursuits and sees things through the frame of military victories and glory on the battlefield. He wants to be a hero and his political acumen is untested. He is not without guile, but he tends to approach issues with a straight forward manner and isn't afraid to make enemies to get what he wants.

He would push for a more war time stance, and not give much concern to how that effects the common folks.

[Jameela Panteer]

Jameela never wanted to rule, never expected to rule and has no ambitions to ever sit on the throne and was happy from a young age knowing she never had that expectation of her. She traveled off world to study and had made plans to see the galaxy as an academic but then Gaul had to throw a massive wrench in her future plans and now everything is upside down.

She does not want to rule, but she will do what she was born to do if her mother decides she is the best choice. She is shy and avoids court and it could result in coarse relations with the fellow houses but she could usher in a time of prosperity and concern for the low born, and would be an advocate for peace and the people.

Of course many Houses welcome her taking the throne as they feel should be easily manipulated or bullied and see her as a weak leader, true or not this is the perception they have of her.

The golden son, the anointed child, Gaul was the near perfect heir; handsome, intelligent, and savvy with diplomacy. His shortcomings were few and discrete until he chose his heart over the throne and brought about near ruin to House Panteer.

He is still a savvy politician and works with the Republic and even spent time in the Empire as an envoy, though that ended after the overthrow of the Sith Emperor. He is still well liked by many in high society but within Panteer he is something of a pariah and has been offworld for years in exile. Gaul has made peace with the fact that he may not succeed his mother and seems to have no regrets but he loves his family and Alderaan and only wants the best for both.

There are some that think he should still take the throne even with the issues, but others feel that maybe he is just too reckless to guide Alderaan into the future.
